I'll have to endorse this one for a simple reason: it made international news and I had friends emailing from all around the world (save Russia, they're eternally cynical and I expect this just makes them smirk) asking me if it was true because they couldn't believe they were being told the truth. I not only confirmed it but showed them similar things said by Republicans in the past couple of years (and how it doesn't even hurt them in the polls) and they're gobsmacked, one asking me how the hell America could've fallen so low as to embrace something like that (and for that I have no answer). Some, including one from Argentina and another from South Africa (also two from Australia but I don't think their government is that notoriously bad like the 2 other countries I mentioned) said it made them feel better about their own epic-fail politicians since America has worse, but it made me feel worse as I realized their feelings were justified. Btw, I've been staying out of GU, but the very last time I was here someone just posted a a thread about FOX News always saying, "Some people say..." I don't know what happened to it, maybe it somehow got deleted or maybe it had a WTF title or maybe it was a tangent on another thread (the reason I looked at this one was to see if it was in this thread)...<snip> ETA: the rest moved to the right thread IP: Logged |

Aquas are better at keeping their cool, BUT, a Scorpio could get right under his skin. Definitely should be interesting. IP: Logged |

Biden better get himself taken up by aliens and replaced by someone who can actually think in a clear way. I bet the aliens could do this IP: Logged |

heya ghani, first the Scorp needs to string enough words together to make sense to pierce the hide of the Aqua. I look forward to the debate. ( good to see you here !!) ------------------ We dance around the ring and suppose, but the secret sits in the middle and Knows Robert Frost IP: Logged |

aqua may be better with words (though some, like palin, make a hash of the english language)...but scorp can so frustrate an aqua as to cause verbal occlusion!biden has some great material just excerpting ryan's blatant lies in his acceptance speech the other night...we'll see how it goes...remember he debated palin four years ago. i don't really remember much of that myself. Biden, in Detroit, replied to the question :Are we better off now than 4 years ago? In which he answered , "yes,we are better off. Bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive." Now I can see a "general" agreement to Bin Laden, but help me tie the General Motors to the country, as a whole, being better off. From where I sit, it appears to be another oops for fodder moment. ------------------ We dance around the ring and suppose, but the secret sits in the middle and Knows Robert Frost IP: Logged |

Thousands? I haven `t looked for an exact figure but I`m darn sure there were more jobs lost than saved. ------------------ We dance around the ring and suppose, but the secret sits in the middle and Knows Robert Frost IP: Logged |

According to the General Motors website they employ 202,000 people worldwide. Chrysler employed 50,000 people as of 2010. I can't find a figure for how many they currently employ. This year Chrysler gave hourly employees $1500 profit-sharing checks. That can't hurt the economy.IP: Logged |

Isn't it the liberals who say that when give corporate America breaks, they hoard it instead of putting it back into the economy? ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Yes. That's not this particular situation, though. If the government had not stepped in those jobs would not have been sustained. If, on the other hand, money was given to a company not struggling in the least, jobs would only be born of regular market demand.
