Ami Ann can't you see into my future and see if I'll be a writer? That would be so cool to know, wouldn't it ... Anyway I'm always inspired by true stories of success 'against the odds' so to speak, and I've just happened on a new one (new story) that I'm busy watching right now ... Well you know I study Korean by watching movies (and teach English by forcing students to watch the Karate Kid .... hahaha) and by accident I found the story of Rikidozan ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2l55h-_hvA
and then http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcLYc2-K3NE

Tink, you already are a writer. Many authors struggle for what you have already put into words. You have the gift and should go with it.

***And I am not taking away from Ami, I am only commenting on what you have written because you have a gift and I am sure Ami will verify that as well.

You know, Fatinkerbel
I LOVE the Bell Jar.When my life was spinning out of control,Plath understood.
In that story, she was still young and innocent with the world ahead of her, possibilities.
When things looked bleak for me,that book was my friend.
YOUR writing is my friend in the same way.
You have a gift,Fatinkerbel.
God will use it when he has refined you as clay on the potters wheel.
We are earthen vessels for Him.
You are refining it,now.
He never starts a process He does not finish.

I figured out something BIG about healing. It seems simple and it is .
Most really profound things are simple lol

You just have to reverse what happened to you.
If you can get back to the root, see it,know what it is AND act differently from the way your abusers MADE you act,you can heal.

I am learning from doing,My only laboratory is me but as long as I am healing,I have something to say.

This is what I just realized. Our abusers "told" us NOT to trust ourselves.
It was very dangerous to trust ourselves cuz we could slip up by making mistakes or just childhood foolishness

We had to put our true selves away and be vigilant.
It was a war zone.We never knew when attack would happen or what would provoke it.
We,only, knew HOW much it hurt and how scary it was.
Hence, we threw away our true selves. We,desperately, tried to don a false self who DID NOT MAKE MISTAKES

When I made a "mistake"by jumping in to a fight,I thought I would DIE from the pain of making a mistake.
I was so bereft as if my whole self was thrown in to an open grave lol
I felt like I was totally worthless .

With a little distance,I realize WHY I reacted so strongly.
When I was a child, I was chided so badly for making mistakes.
It prolly hurt so badly that I DID want to die.
I learned some valuable things this time around.
I will make mistakes.
My only way out is to own them when they are pointed out to me.
Making a mistake does not make ME a mistake.
I am learning this one.
This is a hard lesson and a big one.
This lesson is crucial ,actually.

The HUGE lesson I am learning now is to trust myself.
When you have to throw yourself away,as an abused person does, you throw away your compass, too.
Your compass is your trust in your gut
Healthy people trust themselves.
When *I* was healthy,I trusted myself,too.

Emotionally unhealthy people look to outside cues from which to base their feelings.
This is called External Locus of control in Psychology.
Internal Locus of control is when you trust your gut.
When I was healthy,I trusted my gut.IF I was wrong,so be it.
I allowed myself to be wrong.I phrased things like" *I* believe this way,I could be wrong but *I* see it like this"
That is healthy.

Gentle hugs to you, Tinkerbel. You are an admirably strong person to look at what happened with such unflinching gaze. I wish you healing.

That is so amazing ... OK this might sound weird but often I've pictured my life as being a tightrope and I keep walking on it so carefully but with no end in sight. Then a few days ago I started to walk backwards on the tightrope in my mind. It has something to do as well with something Linda Goodman says somewhere about time ... about what is in front of you being the past. I wish I remember it better ... it was in Starsigns I think ... But yes, reversing the way your abusers made you act. That's so cool because I did feel as if I was starting to act not at all like me and I couldn't control it.
