No. Apart from Citigroup, which was my employer, I had no such connections. It's called having chutzpah and not giving a cr4pp0la of who is who or what is what.

Even then, my wife picked up the phone and called Citigroup HR and got connected with the Vice Chairman, who donated his personal executive jet and flew on someone else's jet for that one week.

And Pfizer and/or Mercx would really love front page NY Slimes or Washington ComPost headlines about big Pharma being heartless while families suffer without expensive medicine, would they?

If I were in NYC, I would call up Chuckie Schmuckie Cheesy Schumer and it isn't as though the esteemed Senator would like to give two sh1ts, but wouldn't the newsies love a breaking story about heartless politicians.

I play the blackmail game really well.

It takes a thug to know how to deal with a band of thugs.

Lexi,

Sanofi Aventis is based in Geneva, Switzerland. However, Sanofi US is based in Bridgewater, New Jersey.

As a Swiss company, they have a huge social responsibility program and their corporate image is based on community development.

Here are the entire links for the US patient assistance program for families in need. Their programs are need based and background blind.

You can get medicine at no cost.
http://m.sanofi.us/mt/www.sanofi.us/l/us/en/layout.jsp?scat=575E1608-E3EA-40F4 -AC7D-CE1EFAE46B0E

Hang on. I'll get you a phone number. I'll get you a contact person.

Edit: call (800) 981-2491 during business hours EST. ask for Community Development. I'll find names and direct phone numbers.

And if they don't respond, I'll call the US subsidiary President and they will get their azzes kicked.

Edit 2: call (800) 221-4025. Screw the general assistance number I gave you. This is a direct line. This link has 100% relevant info. Let me find a name. Be back in another few.

Edit 3: Gregory Irace, Senior Vice President, Global Services, Sanofi US, Head of all Corporate Affairs.
Anne Whitaker, President, North American Pharmaceuticals.

Keep me informed of progress and let me know if you need me to break some kneecaps or chop off some fingers.

Wow. Reading that made my stomach turn. You shouldn't have to jump through all of these hoops just to get something you and your husband desperately need. I don't know anything about social security outside of my own country, but I do want to offer all of my sympathy.

As for the topic, I think positive thinking can help... as long as you genuinely believe in yourself. If you force yourself to put up a happy face, it's not going to work. It can be just as good and even give you some peace to accept you're not feeling okay and having a rough time. That said, being naturally positive will make it easier to see new opportunities and have the confidence to take them. It depends on people's nature too...

YTA
Thank you for all your advice and help.
I posted about a little known fact on over the counter cheap old fashioned insulin.
http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum25/HTML/004082.html

What angers me is that
NO ONE AND I MEAN ABSOLUTELY
NO ONE
In the medical field, doctors, nurses, diabetes case workers/management classes;
NO ONE KNEW ABOUT SO
NEVER TOLD US ABOUT CHEAP INSULIN THAT
YOU CAN JUST WALK IN AND BUY
NO ID
NO PRESCRIPTION REQUIRED!
Why did no one know about this?????????????????????
Sure we prefer Lantus and the ease of use and safety of it;
but it runs 10x more costly and a prescription is required,
and that means having to find ways to pay doctors.
We are going to see if we can get it (Lantus)
cheap or free from Sanofi.
I will keep you updated on the thread at LLC2
so we do not derail this thread further.
Thank you again YTA{{{hugs hugs hugs }}}
I am saving all the information you have given.
And spread the word because no one bothers to tell us needy folk;
insulin the basic old kind,
is otc and cheap.

PS.
I said we because I am supposed to be taking insulin too for past 10 years or so.
YET NO ONE TOLD ME ABOUT THE CHEAP INSULIN I COULD JUST WALK IN AND BUY.
I wonder how much of my nerve damage complications and all are because I could not afford the insulin?
WHY WHY WHY ?????
were ALL THE DOCTORS clueless, EVEN IN ER,
WHEN I WENT IN FOR MINI STROKES;
WHY DID THEY JUST YELL AT ME TO GET MY SUGAR DOWN BUT NOT TELL ME I COULD GET INSULIN CHEAP AND OTC??????????
lol....SORRY....
I am really angry at this.
We found out on our own.
It took many hours of Google searches to find out about it.
Sigh
maddening insane
arrrrrrgghhhhhhhhhhhhh..............
We are utterly shocked to say the least.

So happy for you Lexxi!

For me, this is what positive thinking is all about, YTA offered advice, you looked for your own answers and found them.

Positive thinking is not rainbows and butterflies, it's finding what you need when you need.

LOL my friend
In our case it was more a case of;
anger being more productive than despair.
We were like this is all so damn wrong!
Thing is;
the medical community should have known this.
