There have been times where we had to share the tab when the cost of the night out might have ballooned out of proportion Lol! But for the most part, its pretty much been even handed .

I let my wife sign for the check all the time when i'm tied up with something else. The card's mine anyway since I being home the cheddar.

Very simple Faith.

Any woman can have her independence off me. That's the door, just leave without drama and don't let it slam your tushie.

I'll retain my values in the way i see best fitting fir a man and you retain your quest for independence.

My Mrs. never complained.

You've got some nerve to come after me when you married an older dude with the cash. With multiple houses. With yachts. Absolutely no hypocrisy there.

The rest of you, keep bringing it on. I'll take on the whole damn forum if I have to.

You still have no idea what my point was, Ian.

There's a difference between living a certain kind of life and expressing the viewpoint that that kind of life ought to be the standard for everyone. See?

Obviously my life reflects traditional values, but I'm not preaching anything. I'm not saying, everyone should do this. It's not hypocrisy, it's open-mindedness.

Calling my husband "some older dude with cash" is tacky, what do you hope to gain with personal insults?

EDIT: Oh I see you added that I have "yachts" now. Yeah just make stuff up as you go along, Ian, you're sure to win that way.

Children have been my life long passion. I would have liked to take care of my girls too but that never happened, so I invest myself heavily in my boys.

Second time I've seen you mention your girls, I think. May I know what you mean by that or is that a off-limits topic?

My two daughters passed away. I grew up wanting girls. But now I'm delighted with sons.

LOL

I have a Gem Mars, Taurus SN, and like I said, Cap sun. Probably some conjunctions between us. I love the bookstore comment you posted

PS Oh and what degree is your Mercury? Mine's at 5 Aquarius, is that trine yours? Sorry if I sound pushy, I just get curious when I strongly agree with someone...ya know, it's so rare around here.

You're the one who always talks about "taking people on" like it IS a contest or fight.

'Won't call you anything but YTA from now on. Everyone else can call you by your real name, you don't seem to mind the publicity. If you want to blab my real name that's of course an option. I don't know what you will prove by it, except that you can take low jabs when you're frustrated enough.

You started throwing a nasty jab at him, to which I responded because I don't like the people I care about to be hurt.

Now, you are acting like he came after you when it is obvious that you picked the fight with him.

At least be honest about it.

Anybody can go back and read what I said. Or wait, here it is:

quote:
Not all women want to be "taken care of"...I mean, everything comes with a price.

Some guys will take care of a woman's bills but not her heart, others will do the reverse, some do a bit of each, but at the end of the day I think we are all responsible for our own happiness. When two people can collaborate towards mutual happiness, that's ideal.

It's not a gender thing to me so much as avoiding or overcoming the language barriers that prevent cooperation. But if one person is fixated on gender stereotypes, that's enough of a barrier to weigh down any relationship they get into, right from the start.

That's nasty?

It was a very mild comment about relationships in general, but of course, since you LOVE to fan the flame of any potential argument, you continue to meddle and distort the matter.

No, you don't sound pushy lol. I don't know much about this stuff, but it's interesting to hear about.

Gem Merc 27 and Gem sun 13.

Ian thought it was a jab and I did, so it probably was.

If you throw self righteous jabs, people may respond back. That is just life

Uhhhh no...more like if you say anything even slightly in disagreement with a hyper-sensitive individual, expect to get blasted full force.

And any time I take issue with something a man here says, unless it's AcousticGod, I can rely on you to heckle me and pretend that I said things I didn't say. So cute that you do that.

Thanks! I was feeling pushy so I'm glad I hid that well enough.

Gem Mars 16 here...I have nothing at 27 degrees, except maybe some asteroids, so now I don't know why I like your Mercury so much. Oh well, that's cool, I can handle a bit of mystery.

yourstruly so u r an OG Sugar daddy , but young bloods these days want "equal standing" yeah i do see your POV as far as if you cant play dont get in the game to complain or at least be upfront what you expect, I just wouldnt want anything being held against me in any way

i am not sure what the etiquette on dating is in the US, but my personal opinion is dating per se should not be a long drawnout thing breaking the bank, maxin your cards, a few dates and thats it, what follows is a serious relationship, where certain rules, roles must be constituted

lol..

That will totally spoil the romance brewing in the air. Just imagine the conflict about bills at the end of the date.

I dislike fights over money in dating n relationship. Total turn-off. If we aren't well off, it should b about finding solutions n not putting blames n stress on the other. Be honest with yrself n yr limits. Live within yr means. Nothing destroys love faster than anxieties about money. I most prob won't date a man who is counting the times n money he spent on me. That said, I am prepared to work hard with my man, if that is what it takes to have a peaceful finance stable life. That's me.

Anyway, my opinion: A date doesn't have to b expensive. Plan one within budget; if the girl doesn"t appreciate the effort, then its cue to get rid of her. That's nothing difficult here.

Anyway.. strange how the thread had evolve into arguments.
