For the past four months, I've been mostly vegetarian, except for an occasional bit of seafood. I think I will continue on this way.

I have several macrobiotic cookbooks. In one of them, the author says that poultry protein is the heaviest protein and whatever the body doesn't use settles in the pelvic region, gathering around the organs. In Chinese medicine, the health of this area of the body is shown in area between the nose and upper lip.

Your body can discharge excess protein by creating hair.

When I used to eat a lot of poultry, I had to pluck or wax my upper lip a lot. So I called that my chicken mustache. (Gross, I know. Sorry.)
But I really am excited to report my news here, that since I stopped eating chicken, I don't have that problem anymore! Victory over the chicken mustache.

I don't drink much. I might have half a glass of wine with dinner once a week, just because I think the tastes will blend well. I never get drunk anymore.

You and Randall don't drink, is that right? Is that a moral choice or health choice, may I ask?

Best wishes

CT is not as hot or humid as other parts of SA. Summer's are perfect, Winter untouched by snow..but Spring! Jeepers! The wind was always sooooooo bad. Quite annoying and then the sun would out and out of nowhere it would start to rain! You look up at the sky and barely see any clouds yet it showers down. So Spring was a no no for me.
I have visited at least once a year.

Chicken make hair? Yeah, j/p the excess protein does? Didn't know that. Thanks for the fun fact. Jeepers all women should be made aware of this! Haha! Glad it solved your problem.

Randall does drink..milk on the rocks!
I don't drink for health reasons and because it doesn't appeal to me.. It tastes funky. :/

Oh yes, where's your NN btw?

'Morning, charmaine!

How is the flight to SA? Do you enjoy flying...do you stop and get off the plane in any other country?

Milk on the rocks, that is bad*ss!

My NN is at 20 Scorpio. I wonder if you see that in me, or do I seem more of a Taurus?

Care to share your NN? I know it gives a clue about one's age and I understand if you'd rather keep it mum. When I first got here I was all enigmatic and reluctant to share my exact age, just for privacy's sake. But the temptation to just lay it all out there and see what people could make of my chart just won out, eventually.

Cheers

Alcohol has never appealed to me. I can't stand the smell or the taste. I've never been intoxicated or desired to be. Plus, I've seen the damage it can do. So, it's not like it's a tough choice for me...not like people giving up something they enjoy, such as sweets or meat or whatever. Same with drugs. Never used them and never desired to. I like to keep a clear head, so I know I am fully in control of my choices and decisions. I know it sounds a bit cliche', but I get high on life.

I went to a wine dinner, and the food was great, but I couldn't even taste one sip. I tried and couldn't get past the smell.

Your NN conjuncts my Merc. You do give off Scorpy vibes.

I had my chart up when I first joined here. Unfortunately at that time I didn't know about internet trolls. This was the first forum I ever joined and quite new to it all. Lucky me had the misfortune of a troll "disect" my chart. Lol! It's funny now but wasn't at the time. That experience scared me off and I removed all my chart info.

Then there's also the issue about "age". For some peculiar reason there appears to be a lot of emphasis on age on the forum in general. Some see being "older" as being more superior to those who may be "younger", noy saying everyone is that way - this is just from observation. To me, age does not measure maturity, nor does it mean that one is clueless to the world.

Sooooo, I do keep mum about certain natal info..

Not a fan of flying. I usually take a direct flight to because travelling can be tiring..although sitting cooped up in a plane for that long can be just as tiring.

What other countries have you travelled to? Do you enjoy flying?

Ditto ditto ditto on the chart and age thingy. Unbelievable what a troll does with basic info.

Thank you, I feel so welcome now!

charmaine,

Do you prefer the lowercase "c" or should I capitalize that?

I agree with you completely (!!!) that age is no indicator of wisdom.

And the reason I didn't put my chart up for a while is because I also just didn't like a few people here. 'Didn't want them to take something off my chart and "throw it in my face," especially when I have so many hard aspects. I already cringe to read some of the descriptions online and get kind of peeved if someone tries to say that I must have these major defects because of my chart. I don't believe chart is destiny. I also know where I have been and how I've grown past some of my trouble spots; to have that ignored or "disqualified" on the basis of my chart can be a little disorienting. I'm thinking, "Are they saying that because of how I'm ACTING or just because of the chart?" Because if I'm still acting like a control freak (sun square Pluto) then I haven't evolved as much as I would like to think. So I appreciate reality checks, but not from people who are just believing in astrology too much or just wanting to start an argument.

Your NN conjunct my Mercury, that's great!

My oldest son's SN is conjunct my Mercury. From the time he was a baby, I've been telling people that he and I were just totally on the same wavelength. (People looked at me weird, but I know what I know! And the older he gets, the more obvious it is.) I only knew sun sign astrology back then and couldn't figure out why this was the case. But now the SN-Mercury conjunction is where I think alot of our mental rapport comes from.

And now I get to test out NN conjunct my Mercury with you! So far, so good. *clanking your water glass with mine*

I don't like flying but tolerate it...I just hate the stuffy air and not being able to walk around. But I haven't flown anywhere in a long time.

Places I've been to: most of the mainland US except the Mid-West; Canada; and Mexico (but only for half an hour, it's very scary down where Arizona's Saguaro Cactus National Monument borders Mexico.) Also, France, Switzerland, England, Scotland, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Germany.

My favorite place abroad was Munich, followed closely by Edinburgh and the wild Scottish highlands.

How about you? Tell me about your travels, please!

Oh, wow! You're quite the traveller. It's great to experience different parts of the world and observe different cultures. I haven't been to as many places as you though. My travels include: Australia (Perth), Netherlands, London (shortest stay ever - 2 days and didn't get to explore - business related) Thailand, Seychelles, various places in the States. That's about it. Never visted any Northern African countries..no particular reason why. It's something which didn't occur to me until now. :/

Which country left the most lasting impression on you?

You're spot on with the entire astrology thing. There's nothing more annoying than "wishy washy" astro interpretation. Hammering a person because of challenging aspects in their chart is unethical astro practice as far as I'm concerned. It's most frustrating when this beautiful art and science is abused by the interpreter in this most manipulating way. Yes, there are those learning but they should learn to understand it first before blasting their mouths offs as if it were fact. This can give astro newbies a bad impression (the whole doom and gloom scenario).
Oh another one: when astro is used in arguments as weapons to gain an upper hand (childish) by comparing aspects in another person's chart in an attempt to make the other person feel inferior - argh!

NN are quite interesting. Besides indicating clues to past lives, they are also good indicators of soul connections we have with others as you could pick up from your son. The spiritual part of astrology appeals to me the most. I'm not really that much concerned with conventional astrology- although it's good to know one's S-elf but not place so much emphasis on it that it moulds you completely. We do have free will and we shouldn't forget to use astrology as our guide to understanding ourselves.

I think many here have soul connections or belong to the same soul groups which is why certain people are drawn to each other and of course to learn lessons from the ones we don't get along with too.. This can be an on going topic..

Besides astrology, there are so many other branches of life I am still trying to make sense of..from personal experiences.
The things we can't explain but absolutely know it happened such as the presence of spirits etc.
There are many different theories that it's hard to fathom and makes sense of it for yourself. For this reason, I listen, learn and observe, taking all info into account to make my own judgements based on my own personal truth.

Oh, my real name is Charmaine so yes, I would very much appreciate a capital "C". Thank you!

When I first registered here I kept getting a message that the name "Charmaine" was already taken (and later found out there wasn't!and still a mystery to this day) But I wanted my own name and added the extra "c" at the end.

Hi Charmaine!

I like the capital letter better. I should have asked sooner.

Ooo I want to go to Thailand. Did you like it? I just want to go there and eat. Their sauces mesmerize me and I could be lured into eating stuff that I ordinarily wouldn't touch, like raw organ meat, so long as it's swimming in coconutty hot sauce with pretty garnishes... yum.

Well, Germany. Bavaria in particular. I cannot get over how gorgeous that place is. It also forces me to examine my Libertarian leanings and contrast them with the stunning visual effects attained by the uber-legalistic Germans. Would I sacrifice my precious freedom to live in a culture where everything is orderly, organized and beautiful? I ask myself this and really don't know the answer, but I would certainly love the opportunity to try it. I would love to try living in Bavaria to see if I could keep up with their standards.

I have a Bavarian friend and she spends her days doing things like scouring the grout between her floor tiles with chlorine bleach on a toothbrush. I am SO not that kind of person. But I love looking at pictures of her floor! <3<3<3

That is fascinating...I never would have said that, but it sounds like what I would be interested in, too, if I only knew what exactly it entails. So would you please elaborate on spiritual astrology? I understand the past lives and nodal axis, but that's about it.

Soul groups! I love that idea!

I feel a soul connection with some people, but it's mighty peculiar because the connection is at once real and yet totally nebulous.

We all come here as strangers and there is nothing binding anyone: no geographical limits (like mountains surrounding our "village" ) or, say, financial concerns forcing us to stay in the same workplace...it's just a revolving door kind of place.

I think I've adapted to it, though, and it HAS been spiritually helpful. It's the lesson of non-attachment and just appreciating what you have in the moment it's given.

But I'd be interested in hearing more of your thoughts on this topic. Like do you think the soul groupings might follow an astrological pattern? Like you, me, and Juni (oh and I guess Randall?) have key placements in Aquarius. So we are like "Club Uranus" when we all meet on a thread?

Meanwhile, on the Xiiro thread in Sweet Peas, it is more like "Club Leo/Scorpio Square" because the three of us who chat there all have prominent Leo and Scorpio placements. And fittingly, the thread is "fixed" in that forum...LOL.

Meanwhile, on the Meissieri thread, the three of us who talk there all have key placements right around my sun. It's a Cap-flavored thread.

Maybe I am grasping at straws and have gone way out on a limb (??) far from what you had in mind. 'Just exploring the idea....but I hope you will tell me your thoughts on it.

Hope you have a great day!

DItto.

Glad some people have clear seeing and can express it in a more polite, intelligent and succinct way than I can. Youve got that Cappy laser beam insight...

Thank you for speaking your truth, and always in such a kind way. (even if others don't see it that way) The rest of us get it.

Thank you, T!

I don't think I have any special talent except sheer belligerence, which comes in handy sometimes.

Honestly, I've seen you handle several conflicts much better than I ever could. You often walk away when things get too crazy, and let people think whatever they want. Now that's dignified.

You and Charmaine were arguing last time I checked and I hope Charmaine will not read my comment above as referring to your argument with her. I really can't make sense of that one and kind of don't even want to, since I like you both a lot.

Sh*t just happens. (Sorry for the expletive, Randall, but it does!)

No, Faith, I don't think you are referring to me.Our arguments don't have to make sense to anyone else. Others should just let us be and not interfere, especially if they don't understand what it's about.

I did realize that I lashed out from pure anger and could have had a different approach. However, I am not sorry about it at all and I meant every word. Saying anything different would be a big fat lie.
I'm the kind of person who will defend the ones I care for and love to the bloody end BUT if they are wrong or did something, I WILL tell them so it's not like a blind leap of faith.

Also, my fondness or liking certain individuals is not based on who they're friends with or who they associate with. I don't roll that way. It's based on our interactions with each other.

Hope that clears it for you, Faith.

Will respond to your other post later. Mulitasking atm!

I will never forget learning about powers that be deciding who could be friends with who. It was like my first adult life experience in 6th grade and my first social hurt.

`Course, I didn`t know about astrology and that my natal make up was for everyone to be friends and work toward peaceful solutions.

But this isn`t about me so more travel stories please !!

Ok, Faith, that reply to soul connection will have to wait. Was trying to get my nerd face on but then saw Juni's post.

Juni, sorry, but can you explain that please?
The first paragraph? Someone decided who could and couldn't be friends with at school?

We have a small community, small school and all 7 girls grew up together and were friends. In 6th grade, one girl decided another girl wasn`t a friend anymore and all had to drop her. We all were told to pick and choose a side based on her wants. It was my first taste of how the have`s wake up and recognise the have not`s.
A social lesson I have never forgot.

Ja, shames, poor girl, losing all her friends all at once. Unfortunately adults behave that way too.

I was that girl..a few times.. Because of the entire Apartheid regime and later because of relationship choice. "If he's your bf then we can't be friends!" Yeppers. Dropped in a flash. It's all good though. I'm happy with the choices made.

We can't live our lives dictated in such a manner.

Indeed. Cruel kids most often grow into cruel adults.
I became that girl as well for the school year but I am happy with my choices as well. Rachel, the have not, is my friend to this day.

As adults, we shouldn`t have to make choices based on anothers whim but like you said, based on our personal interactions .
