I thought I'd start a new thread because I felt as if I was intruding on the mirage thread and didn't want to take away from it.

Soooooo! Will have to go back and read what we discussed again.

Hope you had a good weekend. I spent mine doing girly girl things for a change.

Oh yes! Regarding the dream you had about your Libra grandpa:
Maybe it was his way of "visiting" you to let you know that he would have loved you to bits.

Thank you, Charmaine!

Girly girl things sounds fun...is that like, getting a facial and manicure? Tanning? Hooray!

I'm hardly ever alone, shopping by myself is a rare luxury. Reading tabloids in the grocery store check-out line is sometimes as good as it gets, for girly activity.

About my grandfather~ you just made me cry a bit. What a nice way to start a thread, with me weeping already.

Yes, it's really important to me that the dream was real on some level. That it actually took place on another astral plane or whatever the lingo is (I'm not well read on New Age dream theories.)

Do you know much about dream philosophy? Have you any read Jung material on dreams?

The thing with my paternal grandparents is, I feel totally cut off from them. It seems to sever my feeling of belonging in the world; my ancestry only goes back to my father and then stops.

My grandmother rejected me because she and my mother were mortal enemies. My grandmother's sun is conjunct mirage's so when I talk to her, I feel like I am restoring my perception of that area of the zodiac (end of first decan Gemini.)

I should have told her that but it never seemed a natural place to insert the info.

Anyway, will you please tell me more about yourself in general (?) because I don't know much. Did you and Randall meet here at LL, I've always been curious about that.

Have a great day!

Hi Faith!

He offered me a slice of cake. I wish! J/p Yes, here, although I joined seven years ago and didn't take much notice of him. We do compliment each other well: he's cool and collected; I have a temper and throw tantrums.
He's a grump butt; I'm the optimistic one. Weeeeeeee! *whispers* Hope he doesn't read this. Lol!

Yeah, an off beat sense of humor but you'll get used to it.

Yes, girly time was getting nails done and trimming me hair.

Have you tried making girly time for yourself in the bathroom when you shower or bath? Lighting candles, lathering your body in lotions and potions or heating up some nice scented oils? That's girly time too - quality time with yourself.

As for tanning, well the fake ones.. Argh! You see them all over like a new plague. I try tanning naturally even if it is a pain in the rear to achieve.
Do you use those tanning lotions and sprays? No offence if you do; it's just not my cup of tea.

It's quite sad when kids get caught up in such situations. Why can't they keep those issues separate, you know? Sorry that you had to endure that.

What if loved ones who passed did visit us in dreams to relay messages..I think so but then again someone else may disagree and say that maybe it's the subconscious mind symbolically using them to communicate how we feel, long or fear something?

Personally, I think it was your pa!
Mine visited me regularly in dreams and even gave a list of food to eat (he stuck a list of veggies and fruit to eat on the refrigerator). Initially, it didn't make sense but I still ate what I could remember. It didn't make sense because I didn't know how it would work but Randall figured it out and it is helping tremendously.

Used to read Carl Jung in my teens. Still have the books but will have to re- read as revision and refresh the memory.

^ LOL

Yes, I see that you complement each other but I'm astounded to learn...Randall can be grouchy?! (Kidding, I've seen it before... and all you have to say is "Capricorn," and I know part of the story.)

Re: fake tanning

I bought a bottle last year because I have this beautiful German friend who uses it and recommends it. I thought, "Wellllll, if she can do it..." But I've never worked up the nerve. I just have blue legs in the spring time.

Re: girl time at home

Oh yes, I do that! Baths almost every night with epsom salt, essential oil, citrus salt scrub and sometimes peppermint lotion for my high-maintenance Pisces moon feet.

Re: being sad about grandparents

You're right, my grandmother shouldn't have let her feelings about my mother dictate how she would treat me. I love children and can't understand people who can just freeze them out; I always want to engage with them, get their opinions on things. (I have five kids.)

I was born into a lot of inter-family tension. I think it was part of the reason my mother died relatively young (52.) It really wiped out my self-esteem, and I grew up thinking I was fundamentally worthless (Chiron in Aries.) The good news is that I can use that experience to try and make sure that my children don't go through the same kind of crisis; in retrospect, it's easy to see how debilitating my mentality was.

Re: your Pa's health advice

Amazing!

I know you've been eating really healthy~ good for you! I've changed my diet drastically this year as well. For one thing, I finally bought a Vita-Mix; now most of what I consume every day is liquid.

Have you ever heard of the Raw Family, the Boutenkos? Sergei Boutenko cured himself of Type 1 diabetes with raw food...apparently there are a lot of raw food recoveries from diabetes. I assume you and Randall know about this; just saying, I know, too!

So...best wishes! <3

Compliment is spelled right--just the wrong context. If we compliment each other, I say you have good tastes in men. You say you like my hair. But in the context of your statement, the word is complement.

Faith,

When are you going to try the tan spray? Maybe you should try it out on. Your legs first to see the results. let me know if you do.
I'm paranoid because I've seen some nasty tans, lol! Not trying to make you paranoid; just saying. Some were tooooooo orange (looked like carrots in a human form) or others streaked. The worst is a streaked face. Hahaha! Jeepers, I'm horrible. Ok, stopping.

Wow! Five kids. Bet they keep you on your toes. as you said, those experiences helped you learn lessons which definitely help you to be the bestest mum you could possibly be!

Have to break the replies up in bunches, sorry, this thread is glitchy.

Yes! Raw can cure. I did do raw before but then had a really bad "relapse". It was quite odd. This time around, more greens have been included. Amazing stuff. Thanks for the best wishes.

What inspired you to change your diet?

Right, I'm learning that greens are key. So many nutrients and, big shocker, protein!

I've always been a health nut but after I had my fifth and last child in 2010, I got bitten by something and contracted Bartonella, a virus best known as a Lyme disease co-infection. Long story, but I haven't been able to get rid of this virus, so I've just been amping up my efforts more and more. This website has actually helped me realize the value of raw foods (thanks, Randall, if you're reading/proofreading.)

LL mod Xiiro is a fruitarian, and I worked out a lot of my initial objections to the diet in conversation with him. SunChild who sadly just abandoned our ship also supplied some links that got me thinking.

Then, you know how it goes, you try eating healthier, you feel healthier, up and up until you start feeling like a new person.

But for the record, I like cake, too.

And french fries with ketchup. They might have to put that on my tombstone: "Ate broccoli sprouts every day, no problem, but couldn't quit the french fries."

At least I won't die from fake tan spray inhalation

Lol @ the fake spray inhalation. Fake tan season is currently at its peak.

Sorry to hear about the Lyme dis-ease. We had another member here who had the same. She struggled with it quite a bit. Hope the diet can at least help a bit.

As for fries..omg.. It's the one thing I tend to crave on a regular basis. :/ One day it was sooooooo bad I wished it was raining fries from the sky!

Also eating healthy does make you feel good but it can't curb those odd longings for certain "junk" foods.

Do you have any particular cake you enjoy more than others?

Yep, it's amazing how much protein you can get from greens. True protein is amino acids, which the body converts. Put wheat grass in the cake, and then it's healthy.

Raining fries into puddles of ketchup I hope?

My favorite cake is yellow cake, the kind that's full of chemicals, dough conditioners, trans fats. With white icing.

No I'm not kidding

My second favorite kind is carrot cake with cream cheese icing.

*pausing to smile to myself and dream of carrot cake.*

How about you?

As for me, I would rather just hold my nose, get the wheatgrass juice down, and then use the cake as a "chaser."
