In Vedic astrology yes. In harmonic astrology only 9th to 9th, hoooowever, I still think there is a point in comparing to the natal, too, AFTER doing the 9th/ 9th comparision, if we view the harmonic charts as symbolic charts rather than showing aspect-gestalt IP: Logged |

Meaning is varied, actually. Some say it is a chart of the soul, the soulmate, the marriage partner (Vedic view mostly, and new agey). Cochrane links it to society, and an union embedded in a social frame, which makes for contentment and inner satisfaction. I read also it relates to inner joy and happiness and feelings of completion.
I think probably all of it might be true, to a degree. Personally I think that it is the harmonic chart that describes how we can best unite to another person or even an ideal/ idea, that makes us contribute to life and society while at the same time establishes harmony and a feeling of communion. But in a more practical way, than the 7th maybe does, too (which is very spiritually oriented; spiritual communion of the 7th compared to social communion or union within a social system - hence marriage - in the 9th) IP: Logged |

Let me give you a dire example of a friend of mine who has found her soulmate, and been convinced of this for the last 8 years they`ve spent together, and she never had been happier and more content in her life, and actually a lot of healing took place triggered by this relationship, in which both wholeheartedly support each other. His Venus, Juno and SN in one degree conjunction fall onto her Neptune, with his Jupiter opposite oh and his Venus, Juno and SN are conjunct her ASC; his Jupiter on her DESC
his Moon conjuncts her Sun exact and his Mercury also conjuncts her Sun
(his 9th Sun actually conjuncts her natal Moon closely. lol) her Pluto on his IC, her Jupiter on his DESC
his Pluto trine her Moon and a lot more speaking of their 9th composite
Jupiter and Pluto on DESC Saturn, Moon, Venus conjunct each other on MC T-square of Mars-Saturn-Moon-Pluto, Yod of Venus-Juno-Mercury Sun conjunt Uranus and Mercury, which both need, as he has a natal Sun-Uranus-conjunction and she is an Aquarius; Mercury rules his DESC and her 8th and 5th house, so it suits them just fine. So whatever this means it works for them. lol

other friends of mine, married for 9 years, 3 kids and fit smoothly in their social surroundings (but with a lot of depth and fondness for each other and their family) his pluto conjunct her VEnus and Mars his pluto opposite her Saturn and Neptune
his Moon on her VErtex and IC and opposite her Moon; his Jupiter on her Avx, MC and Moon
his Juno on her Sun, opp. her Juno IP: Logged |

Yes, it always surprised me to see that the very significant synastric aspects were repeated and crystallized in the first meeting chart. Though of course the fmc has nothing to do with either natal. It was like, I donīt know, this was the right time to meet to focus the core synastry like in a burning glass. Can`t evade that Sun-Saturn (square in synastry, trine in composite). As for the Moon-Pluto, this one is not as easy to see, but it reliably shows up even now at certian pivotal events/ meetings. However now that I think about it my Draconic Pluto opposes his Draconic Moon (1°39)
Of course this Moon-Pluto-opposition in the Dracos is part of a huge pattern. oh and of course his tropical Pluto is trine my tropical Moon as well though a bit wide (4.17)

Actually you know what I found almost creepy? First meeting chart: may 2008 Moon 1 Cap Saturn 1 Virgo Sun 1 Gemini
Venus return chart of our composite february 2014 Moon 22 Cancer Saturn 23 Scorpio Sun 23 Aquarius On both days there was a mystical triangle, created not only be the very same planets, but even the aspects were the same plus Sun was in an Air sign. And obviously Moon was on the Cancer-Capricorn-axis again. Things like these, so seemingly random, fascinate me. lol

Saturn is important to both of us indiviudlaly anyway. For me being my secondary 5th house ruler, placed in the 8th house and having a precise trine to Juno and conjunct Vertex. For him Saturn is conjunct his DESC and Vertex, sextile Juno exact and trines Venus, the intercepted 7th house ruler, and Saturn rules his 11th house. Pluto might actually be more important to him , but the Pluto-Moon conjunction represents a projected houseruler conjunction of the 8th house, as my Moon rules 8th house and Pluto rules his 8th house and sits in his 7th. We have a widish trine between 8th house rulers anyway, but it is over 4 degree so you cannot see it in 9th chart (the orb would be 36 degrees in this chart. lol) But even if we do not use projected houserulers, Moon rules his 5th house and Pluto rules my 11th house, and that is an important mirror-axsis for us anyway.

Me and my first ex, 9th harmonic synastryValentine conjunct Moon/Neptune Uranus conjunct Psyche Juno conjunct ASC Sun conjunct MC Mars conjunct NN and Moon Vertex conjunct Valentine Karma conjunct MC his Sun conjunct my natal ASC his Venus opp my natal Sun his Moon trines my natal Moon my Venus conjuncts his natal ASC my Sun conjuncts his natal Juno my Mars/Juno opp his natal Moon/Venus not at all insignificant
ex nr. 2
ASC conjunct NN Sun conjunct Neptune and the rest is with asteroids, without angles...very interesting, MUCH weaker
his Juno conjunct my natal Juno his MC conjunct my Chiron his Uranus conjunct my natal DSC his Saturn conjunct my natal MC his Moon/Mercury conjunct my NN my Venus conjunct his DSC my ASC opp his natal Mars my Moon opp his natal Venus still some contacts, but weaker
I think angles are important in these comparisons ------------------
