I'm placing this here in Free-for-all so that everyone will get a chance to read it.

How many of you still have a copy of Gooberz? How many bought a copy but never found the time to read it? How many want to buy a copy and read it "one day"? How many are just too intimidated by the poetic style and enormous size?

Why don't we all come together and have a Group Read? This was Gregory's idea, and I think it is fabulous! We can read one Canto per week (total of twenty-one). Then we can discuss what individually stands out to us on this thread. A week should give all of us enough time (with our busy schedules). If you have never read Gooberz before, this is your chance. A whole support group will be here to help. And if you have read it (I've read it three times), experience the magic again, but like never before, as we all point out things that touch us. It's a totally unique experience each time it's read, but this will truly be magical! Some have read only random parts of it. Others have started but realized they were not yet ready. At this point, you are ALL ready for Gooberz, because we will be there to help acclimate you to its magic. Who's up for it?

I'd love to. I have an idea, It would be a lot of work but maybe worth it for the ones who do not have a copy. The ones who have a copy could each type out a certain amount.....I know how thick the book is. It was just an idea. Anyone looked on Barnes and Noble.com? It might be cheaper. Or we could just take a collection and get everyone a copy for Christmas. Just trying to be helpful.

For a second there, I thought I was using my psyche again ~ I thought you meant that we would each take turns posting Gooberz so the whole book would be posted. I had actually thought of this a few days ago, then I just read your post. (Hence, I thought I was being psychic again). (Well, almost ). But you mean to just read it on our own. (Yes, I can be a little slow, so what? )

I definitely think everyone has their own "tyme" for Gooberz ~ I have read the whole thing once, almost fully twice, and so many different passages over and over and over again. It's really not in me to re-read it right now, but I always Love to discuss it!

Peace, Love, Magic, & the Miracles of Gooberz to All!

.......and Heathcliff too!

I don't have the book ,but found a copy at Barnes and Nobles one day. I wasn't able to get it ,but the more I read about it the more I want to get it. I love the idea of you posting some of it especially since there aren't any bookstores in my small town. Amazing isn't it! Anyhow I might not be able to get online everyweek ,but would love to catch what I could.

I don't think posting the book would be a good idea. It is copyrighted. I can understand why some of you would be reluctant to purchase a copy, but I think this book is worth the price. Whatever the case, I began reading Gooberz a few years ago and never got around to finishing it, so I would be in on this.

We'll begin reading Canto 1 on January 1. And start discussing during that week. That way, we'll begin a new Canto every seven days.

Probably do it on this one. Otherwise, newbies might go to this thread and want to participate, but we will already be started.

I almost changed my mind about being the 11th thread here right now. Then I realized that I can't start doing that-ya know-interrupting the FLOW. By changing my mind about something just because of the number associated with it. I mean, DA, how long did it take me to figure THAT one out?

Well that canary tasted REAL good. There I was, walking down the street, making like the Cheshire cat, having peace like a river head to toe.
There it was...waiting ever so patiently for me to come back to claim it.Actually, had to be 3 or 4 months since I last visited that bookstore. And quite a good selection they had of all these wonderous, ponderous subjects they have. So, I am back home now. Haven't even taken it out of the white bag yet. I bought another book too, but cannot , for the life of me, recall offhand what it is.It doesn't matter too much anywho-I got what I went there for.LOL!LOL!I just flashed on this-I need to DIVE into this Masterpiece again for Total Recall. I don't know why that just struck me so funny-but it did. I will return after awhile, gotta chew on some GOOBERZ----------

Not to change the subject, but to take in on a tiny 'detour'...my daughter gave me a book she found at a thrift shop...she said she knew I had it but in paperback, but thought I would like this...

It is STAR SIGNS in hard back...
jacket cover and everything...a FIRST EDITION. It is in mint condition. Definately one I will cherish!

COunt me in Randall! I think I've been over/around/inside-out and back again more times than I can count reading Gooberz. I have writings, notes, stickies and highlighted pages throughout. All the "subjects" are marked... like on my stickies sticking out of the pages I have written what the page(subject), etc. is about. I find something "new" it seems, just when I need to.

This will be fun! You know, it's something I'd like to do in "realtime - the flesh." Meaning, you know how there are discussion groups that meet, at say, someone's home, or a library or bookstore to discuss certains subjects, etc? I've desired to do this with things Linda wrote about in Star Signs and Gooberz... I know others have done so as well(written about these subjects - AKA All Life), but she had such a way with her writing - in simple laymen's terms - simplistically beautiful! . Anyway, I have thought about this on many occasions. Asheville, NC has been on my mind... maybe I'll move there and open up a tea/fruit juice shop with a bookstore to boot and have weekly discussion groups there... oooh - I could sell used books on one side and new on the other - also, have some sort of lending library for those who aren't able to buy any of the books or aren't able to locate any in a library - OH, did I mention there would be a publishing house in the back for inspiring writers of all metaphysical/magical/eternal "things"... All life ey?

There's just something Magical about those Apple Appalachians ! Maybe it's all that Quartz Crystal there in the earth, unseen but Very much felt, in that part of the state. I felt something there! Is this why they are calling it the "New Age Mecca?" This could be another thread. I'll start it.

In Love
I Am

I'd love to participate, but am a little bit nervous because I won't have enough money to afford Gooberz for another three weeks. I've got three ideas, all of which have pros and cons. One is to perform a spell for money. I have never performed any spells before. IF I do it correctly, it would help, but if I do it wrong, I'm afraid of what could happen.
The second option is to just ask one of you to mail it to me (and e-mail you my address), but I really don't want to do that. It would be taking unfair advantage of your giving natures, unless someone did it out of a genuine desire to help instead of out of guilt.
A third option is to just save the money normally. It's the easiest option and would prevent all discomfort, but I would have to join in the discussion somewhere in the middle.
Thanks very much for your time. If I can somehow obtain a copy of Gooberz, I will gladly be involved in the discussion. I think it's a wonderful idea.

Spiritua...just do the green light thingy. Image in your mind a personal object (shoe, phone, toothbrush....anything) then image green light surrounding it...HOld the image until you 'feel' it is right and let it go. Then forget it.

It won't be a lot of money that shows up, but it will be enough to get GOOBERZ. Trust me on this, it never fails

I'll go to the library on Wednesday. Hopefully, Gooberz will be there. I've spent lots of energy visualizing Gooberz over the last few days. If it's not in the library, I'll be in Toronto on Saturday. I'm sure beyond sure that if Gooberz isn't in Belleville's library, it will be somewhere in Toronto. I'd have to catch up a little bit, but it wouldn't be too bad.

We are taking seven days for each Canto, and may discuss either the prior one and/or the current one, so you have plenty of time. Canto One is only twenty pages.
