It's good to know that there is an interest in the Phoenix Days out there. I have sometimes felt that I was hitting a wall. I have been rereading Daybreak-The Dawning Ember, and I have noticed that some of the Phoenix visions have been coming to pass. I read that the government has been considering reviving the Draft and we have had some strange weather this spring and summer. I live in Virginia and we already had a hurricane this year. Let us know if any of you have noticed any trends that get your attention. Also you may want to review NoEyes' views on "Brushfire Wars", to wit: Desert Storm and the current Iraq mess. I can't wait to see if anyone else is bothered by current events and feels guided to do something. I will reply to E-mail if this is too public. If my address is not available, say so and I will post it. IP: Logged |

Weeseldad, thank you for your patience! I have been up to my ears with work. Somewhere at the beginning of this thread, I had stated about where I thought we were in the events. I would enjoy hearing your thoughts. We can talk here if you`d like. It would give others a chance to share as well. The world events are changing so rapidly & I look forward to your insight! juniperb ------------------ If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans. ~James Herriot IP: Logged |

Yes, I remember that you feel that we are into the Phoenix days. Don't worry about my patience, after all, aren't we taught that good things come to those who wait? I have felt that we are in the midst of great changes for years. You probably won't believe how I found Summer's books in the first place. I had a part time job as a janitor and cleaned the Hampton Roads Publishing Co. office. Since I am an avid reader, I asked the owner if He had any books that I could have. He gave me all of the NoEyes books and The Dawning Ember. Needless to say, I found someone who said what I had felt all my life. I have always been slightly out of step with everyone else. Now I realize that I just felt things that not everyone else can or wants to. I have always been drawn to people like Summer Rain and Shirley McLain. At times I can actually "remember" things from another time. Usually it is a feeling called deja vu. For some, it is much more. Have any of you felt or lived similar things. How do you feel about the Phoenix Days? Let the rest of us know about how you became aware that we are all special. May you walk in peace and harmony. IP: Logged |

I wanted to add another thought. Sometimes those of us who are teachers, teach in an unconventional way. I know that you know who John denver was. Did you know that he was from Colorado? And have you ever really listened to the words of the song "Rocky Mountain High" or better yet, get a copy and read them. I think that you will find some familiar themes in there. As far as world events, I can only say; don't blink, you might miss something important. I think that the upcoming election will be very interesting this fall. And why is Stem Cell Research such a popular kickball these days? I sense a growing polarity over this and I hardly think that either candidate is really qualified to understand it let alone debate with true knowledge. Could this be something that we should watch along with the overseas mess? For now, look within to learn what to watch for. May the Spirit guide you. IP: Logged |

juniperb I have copied a couple of John Denver songs that I think convey what I was trying to say. Read these lyrics with the knowledge thatyou have from MSR. Rocky Mountain High by John Denver
He was born in the summer of his 27th year Comin' home to a place he'd never been before He left yesterday behind him You might say he was born again You might say he found a key for every door
When he first came to the mountains his life was far away On the road and hangin' by a song But the string's already broken and he doesn't really care It keeps changin' fast, and it don't last for long But the Colorade Rocky Mountain high I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky The shadow from the starlight is softer than a lullabye Rocky Mountain high He climbed cathedral mountains, he saw silver clouds below He saw everything as far as you can see And they say that he got crazy once and he tried to touch the sun And he lost a friend but kept his memory Now he walks in quiet solitude the forests and the streams Seeking grace in every step he takes His sight has turned inside himself to try and understand The serenity of a clear blue mountain lake And the Colorado Rocky Mountain high I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky You can talk to God and listen to the casual reply Rocky Mountain high Now his life is full of wonder But his heart still knows some fear Of a simple thing he cannot comprehend Why they try to tear the mountains down To bring in a couple more More people, more scars upon the land And the Colorado Rocky Mountain high I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky I know he'd be a poorer man if he never saw an eagle fly Rocky Mountain high It's a Colorado Rocky Mountain high I've seen it rain' fire in the sky Friends around the campfire and everybody's high Rocky Mountain high ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Children of the Universe Written and performed by John Denver on "Earth Day" A Heritage of vision was given to us all To smell the rose's fragrance, to hear the songbird's call To watch the distant moonlight fill the coming of the tides To understand that life is more than always choosing sides And some have seen what can be seen Of sailing ships and kings And some are given feet of clay and some are given wings Some must struggle just to breathe Some have a golden spoon And some will never leave the While some walk on the moon And don't you know the life that lives within the silent hills Is just as rich and beautiful and just as unfulfilled As man with all his intellect, his reason and his choice Oh who's to say the nightingale has any less a voice The silver dolphins twist and dance and sing to one another The cosmic oceans know no bounds for all that live are brothers The whip-poor-will, the grizzly bear, the elephant, the whale All children of the universe, all weavers of the tale So palomino lie back down and dream yourself to sleep The hawk flies with the morning dove, the lion with the sheep As far away as you may go, we'll never be apart It's in your dreams that you will know The seasons of the heart If you think that I am on the right path, let me know. Peace to all who read this and know that God smiles a lot. weeseldad IP: Logged |

Goodness no WD, you haven`t scared me off. A very busy time and I am trying to bring my thoughts together to make this a insightful sharing. You seem to be more aware of global events than I and perhaps I`m more acutely aware of other events. My idea was that we go thru the book, chapter by chapter, to see if we are on the same page and share our thoughts as we go. Thats the only way I know to understand each other without skipping around and trying to grasp what the other is saying. It would keep things in context. I realize time is a factor but if we make the attempt, it will flow and we can gain some insight. It doesn`t appear that MRS is a much read author here. No worry, thats the nature of things and we shouldn`t base our needs or thoughts on anyone else who is or isn`t aware of her or her work;Or in the mood to discuss it. The facts for us is what we have gained from her works and an interest in sharing what we`ve learned from her If this appeals to you, say the word! ------------------ If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans. ~James Herriot IP: Logged |

You are truly an angel. I was concerned that I had gotten lost somewhat. Thanks for the reassurance. I don't know about being more aware of world events, it's just that I found that MSR's books "grabbed" me and I really found a new way of looking at things. For example, today, the local news anchor mentioned that the price of oil went up to a new high this week. He then went on to say that the "experts" say that these prices won't go down as before and we had best get used to more expensive fuel. If I'm not mistaken, NoEyes said that this was one of the indicators that we should be aware of. See, I don't know more, I've tried to take what I see and hear and look at it in relation to the Phoenix Days. If you want to go through the books, that's a wonderful way to check on if we are as aware as we should be. Please pick a place to begin and I will try to stay even. For now, have a wonderful day. May you walk in peace and harmony with the Spirit of God. IP: Logged |

Hi again I have my book sitting here and I will reread chapter one "Contractions, Ecomomic Aspects" tomorrow. I personally wish to start at the beginning so I won`t miss her nuances that may give more insight than the last time I read it. As soon as I read it, I will share my thoughts. If you get to it first, you share first ok? I look forward to our interactions! ------------------ If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans. ~James Herriot IP: Logged |

Hi, while waiting for you to appear I heard an interesting interview on CBS. I felt it related to where I believe we are in the Chronicles My thought: quote: It seems to me we are thru (mostly anyhow)the first six and moving rapidly into The Wailing/Nuclear incidents and Talons Tensing/Civil Unrest.
The interview stated that for the first time in the U.S`s history, Protestants may be below the 50% range. A stat of 10 % was quoted for the baby boomers who have NO religous affiliation at all. Interestingly, these stats also reflected the same boomers who`s parents were Protestant. I don`t have the figures for the lowering Catholic population, but it 'appears' conventional religion is on it`s way out. Rather that`s a plus or minus remains to be seen, but it fits within the Spiritual Unrest stated in Wings Flexing. This is ahead of our starting point, but adds another thought on the Chronicles while waiting for your Elf to visit. ------------------ If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans. ~James Herriot IP: Logged |

 I hadn't read of that particular study, but you are right. I have noticed that a lot of the people that I work with have "fallen away" from organized churches. Speaking as a Catholic, I have been troubled by the increasing problems that have recently come to light. Besides, most of my younger years were spent in the southwest and I felt closer to the Indian beliefs concerning the Great Spirit. Anyway, I finally found my copy of Phoenix Rising and will try to read some today. One more thought for you. I am not big on war movies because I had to serve a tour on a ship in Viet Nam many years ago, but I watched "We Were Soldiers" and it really touched me. In fact, I sat and just cried for a few minutes and I am usually not hit by movies like that. Do you have any thoughts on this? May you walk in peace and harmony with the Spirit. IP: Logged |

Hi Weeseldad, again thank you for your patience It does seem odd sometimes the things that strike a chord in our heart. It could be a multitude of things which affect us. I feel the same when I see a Cowboy and Indian movie. I don`t know the reason, just know it resonates with me. As we finally become Aware of the Web of Life, I believe many of our questions will quietly fall into place for us. It is my desire anyhow. The current weather events,; storms not being predicted or more severe and changing their pattern. This seems to fit in the Chronocles too. Your thoughts? ------------------ If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans. ~James Herriot IP: Logged |

Hi yourself juniperb;I have to apologize my self, I took a couple days and reread the entire book because it has been awhile. I agree with your weather observations. I think that we have been the midst of changes for a long time. I came to virginia in 1965 and I remember that we had colder winters and early falls. Over the past decades, the winters have arrived later and later each year. Also, the springs are wetter and the summers seem to be more intense. Every year, we seem to have one more storm and one or two more hurricanes or they are stronger. I have noticed this trend across the world also. As to where we are, I would say that we are definitely in Breath Heaving and closing in on Wings Flexing at a breakneck pace. I took notes as I read and here are a few highlights: Planes seem to fall down at an increasing rate, the 9-11 tragedy couldn't have been prevented in any case, more whales and dolphins beach every year, there are mudslides, floods and earthquakes all over the world at an increasing rate each year. I could go on, but you get the idea. I think that we should really spend some time each day listening to our Advisor and be ready to act accordingly. I have really rambled on, haven't I? What's your take on this? I have wondered if anyone feels the same for a long time. I would like to sign off with a question or two. What area of the country do you live in? I live in the Tidewater area of Virginia. Are you male or female and how long have you read MSR's books? I hope I haven't been too forward. By the way, I am a male and have been reading the books for ten or eleven years. May you walk in peace and harmony with the Great Spirit.

Hope you`re enjoying your Labor Day week end Lets see, I`m female, live in MI and my mom introduced me to M.S.R. in 1990. The weather patterns have been of interest to me as well. We`re farm country and our crops have been adversely affected by cold and frost. The coldest wettest year since 1922.We`ve had hard frosts each month thru August. All crops have been at 1/4 yield. It will effect the economy in a trickle down effect, more to add to the Economic Conditions & The cash/crop shortages could bring many problems. One of the statements she made that intrigued me was of amusement park accidents. The last two/three years have been a horror for them. Sadly, it is the children being harmed in them. You won`t catch me on a train, subway, plane or any amusement ride. I know our death is predetermined, but being maimed is a worse thought to me. Thanks for your reply. I know what you mean about the colder winters up there. Also, isn't this hurricane season getting scary? We're up to the letter "I" which is nine named storms and the season is not even half over. Since we live near the Chesapeake Bay, actually in Chesapeake, we have been "holding our breath" every time the weather comes on, it seems. I'd like to share something that happened this year. I was "prompted" to take a job in Baltimore. I am an electrician and the job paid well. Anyway, I ended going up with one of my sons and a friend, whom are also electricians. Then, I ended up back in Va. and they are still there. The funny thing is that all of these changes felt so right and I obtained a really good job back here. I know that I was supposed to be the instrument that got those two to Baltimore. While we were there, my son said that he felt like he "needed to be there" for the time being. Isn't it funny how God selects us to do what needs doing? Have you or yours been involved in something similar lately? I have noticed that some of my family and friends have experienced some strange things in recent years. How about any others out there? Would anyone like to share their thoughts on MSR's books or anything that has made an impression on you? Please join in.------------------ :Peace: May you walk in peace and harmony with the Great Spirit. weeseldad IP: Logged |

Here is another thought that I wanted to add. In Daybreak, some readers asked about other Native American writers. I ran across an author a few years ago named Tony Hillerman. I don't know his ethnic background, but he has written a series of novels featuring a Navajo policeman named"Joe Leaphorn". The books are quite well written and each one of them is centered around one of the ceremonies of the Navajo, known as "ways". You will have to read one to understand what I mean, but theyu are insightful and treat the Native beliefs with sensitivity and bring out the connection between the Spiritual and earthly sides of our lives. I just thought I would toss that out. Also, did you know that most public libraries offer a swap section where you can trade paperbacks? I have found some treasures that way. ------------------ May you walk in peace and harmony with the Great Spirit. weeseldad IP: Logged |

Hi weeseldad, I saw something today that reminded me of our conversations I have been searching for years for a very common wild flower here. Very unusual and identifiable but never found one. Today, while at the lake, I found not one but three. It`s called an Indian Pipe. It synchronized with our conversations and delighted me by finally seeing it. I am not familiar with the author, but will look for him. I don`t believe it`s the ethnic background of the author, but the Awareness we gain thru their words. The Way or The Path, both are the journey we seek. There`s a couple of links here in LL I would like to provide you with if you are interested. Thank you for the beautiful Life poem. I am happy for you because you have been gifted from Mother Earth herself. I was once treated to the experience of standing amidst a group of bighorn sheep on a long ago camping trip. Isn't it wonderful when God and Nature give you a gift that is just for you? Rejoice and treasure the moment for they are rare. I would love to look at any links that you recommend. My dear wife is amazed that there are some of MSR's readers out there. We haven't heard of anyone reading her books except for a few of us in the Hampton Roads area, where her books are published. On another note of sharing; have you looked at any of Shirley McLaine's books? She has written at least three with a spiritual theme. To wit: "Out On A Limb", "Dancing In The Light" and "Don't Fall Off The Mountain" I found them to be right within the themes that we are trying to live within ourselves. Ie. past lives, Karma and the need for love and acceptance. I want to say that your gift of poetry was more meaningful than you can imagine, because I am part Cherokee and those words touched my soul. Thank you again. Have you thought that the rebels who are destroying the oil pipelines etc. were all foretold in Phoenix Rising"? I don't think I would stay near a major refinery or downwind of a nuclear power plant for more that a day or so. I will add more as the days go by. I hope that everyone is watching tha world and listening "within". ------------------ May you walk in peace and harmony with the Great Spirit. weeseldad IP: Logged |

we meet again. Yes, it was a wonderful gift and I treasure it.Thats why I shared it with you as a gift is best when given away. I have Shirleys books (my Moms inherited library) but I haven`t read them. Truthfully, I haven`t indulged in many other New Age ( pardon the term) books in recent years. Sadly, there don`t seem to be many M.S.R. readers around these parts either. The Indian Way has my heart and soul as well. I am 1/4 Ojibwe/Odawa but I sincerely believe it is not a matter of blood. Vision of Indian Guide: It is not blood that makes an Indian. It is the soul. Too many with little soul and no vision walk in our skin. Too many with fire of Indian blood walk ignored. Do not say I am Apache or Kickapoo. Say I am of the Mother Tribe This is the pain of our children. To return from the stars without a home or country A tribe lost returns scattered in the wind. Those who hear must unit and reap the seed of this return
One Tribe One Earth One Heart One People Those with ears must build a fire and give thanks this night. Be united. One Soul Children come home. Teachers step forward without fear. You are real I read this and felt blessed. Blessed to just Be and enriched by what little I know of my heritage Love & Blessings to you and yours. ------------------ If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans. ~James Herriot IP: Logged |
