What about that for an opening match!

I was thinking the same thing! Unfortunately, I didn't get to watch the whole game, but I had it on in the background.

CancerianMoon, Moore is your cousin!!? Thats fantastic, hes a great defender!! And congrats to the Aussies today! After Japan dominate the match... The aussies storm to a powerful ending and score 2 late goals for a brilliant 3-1 win. A draw against Croatia, should be enough now to take the Aussies through!

I like Brasil, but gosh they are almost a sure thing. I would like to see a different team win. England or Germany.

Am watching Australia and Brazil play...WOWZERS!!! 45 mins into the game and still no score!! A coworker of mine is from England and a HUGE football (soccer) fan. Drives me crazy with his countdown "17 hours 45 mins and 36 seconds till kickoff!" I hope for his sake that England wins. They last won in 1966. They haven't won once since he's been here on earth.

I love it when England lose as i don't like their players, or indeed their fans. Brazil are great but look very lacklustre. They've just won 2-0 though so let's hope they were just being lazy.
Australia did look very good tonight though i must say.

I heard this story on NPR the other day and thought of ya'll.

The songs alone are great, and the story itself is worth listening to.
Ivory Coast's is actually quite moving.
Oh, and don't miss the Baarmy Sheep video.

Brasil 2 Australia 0
I think Australia played very well against the world champions.. the score doesnt do the Aussie play justice..
The first goal by Brasil was a great goal..the second was poor defence by the Aussies.
Good Luck to the Aussies in the Croatia game!!!

USA 1 Italy 1! Down to 9 men for most of the 2nd half and we did it! A tie down a man is a huge upset! We can beat Ghana, I know it! Just hope Italy beats those czechs.

France 1 Korea 1
France was screwed over big time and they didn't even realize it. They should have been up 2-0 going into the 2nd half. The ball was over the line when the Korean goalie punched it out. France needs to beat Togo on the 23rd. If they tie Togo, they need to hope that Togo and Switzerland tie tommrrow, than 4 days later, hope that Korea and Switzerland tie.

Oh man, I wanna see Ghana beat the U.S. If they could beat the Czechs (The number 2 team) who knows.

In group D , I wanna see Portugal and Angola advance (my cousins).

Brasil definitely is a sure thing, but I don't think they're playing as good as they usually do.(they're also my cousins)

Congrats to the US team! I figured they'd play hard being the underdogs.
I love watching Brasil play, though yesterday they seemed to be playing half-heartedly. Reynaldo did absolutely nothing yesterday, like he wasn't trying. It's so amazing watching their footwork! I think Ze Roberto was the man of the match, with those two absolutely perfect sliding tackles.
