Ughhh, it sounds believable though, doesn't it. It look Materazzi was yelling something at Zidane and then BAM. Well don't worry, even if this never is looked into, Zidane will still be laughing all the way to the bank. Because while Materazzi's club (Juventis) get's dropped down to a Series C (because of the scandal) Zidane will still be an All-Star for Real Madrid.
Oh, and that is a Funny Pic Everlong

Materazzi admits Zidane insultNo surprise there...I heard that he did use terrorism and his mother in the same insult. http://www.sportsnet.ca/soccer/article.jsp?content=20060711_101453_5372 World Cup Wrap-Up By Erik Gunther Mon, July 10, 2006, 4:58 pm PDT http://buzz.yahoo.com/buzzlog/19315/world-cup-wrap-up IP: Logged |

I like Zidane, and would've liked a happier ending to his career. No matter how cruel/ugly the words exchanged, he should've kept his head (no pun intended). It would've been much better to take out his anger by scoring against the Italians vs. getting thrown out. A good sportsmanship requires one to keep emotions in check. Zidane let down his team, coutnry, and soccer fans.IP: Logged |

I agree Planet_Soul, that he shouldve kept his head It did sorta show how much (or little) he valued the final game, his team and fans. What I thought was worse was seeing some of the French players take off their silver medals.Anyhoo Zidane said the insults were towards his mother and sister (looks like insulting the family is the worst thing you could do to this Cancer), and he also apologized to the fans: quote: He did say he was spurred by cruel insults to his mother and sister. But the exact exchange between France's captain and Marco Materazzi remains a mystery. Zidane never was specific about what enraged him. So, for the moment, the words stay between them. "I would rather have taken a punch in the jaw than have heard that," he told the Canal-Plus television network, stressing that Materazzi's language was "very harsh," and that he uttered the insults several times. In his first public comments since Sunday's match, Zidane repeatedly apologized to fans -- especially to children. But he said he didn't regret the abrupt, violent outburst that marked the end of his illustrious 18-year professional career.
