"Sow a thought, and you reap a deed...
Sow a deed, and you reap a habit...
Sow a habit, and you reap a character...
Sow a character, and you reap a destiny -
for character is destiny."

- Buddhist Proverb (I think)

Needful to say,
It all begins in the mind.

I would be impressed with the synchronicity of that if I hadn't been posting about every minute for the past two hours! LOL I have to get away from this computer and give my little girl some more Mommy attention before she is off to bed. Everyone start some more interesting conversations while I am gone!!!!!!! I will probably be back. I have a wild and crazy weekend night planned, me and "Cops." I told my neighbor that I like to watch it because it reminds me of my old friends.

I am mostly kidding.

Consider yourself lassoed.

Now go sit in a non-intellectual t-shirt and watch Cops.

No cheating and switching to the History channel during commericials. Nothing educational allowed for 2 hours. If you feel a Shakespearian quote coming on, just start chanting, Bad Boys Bad Boys, Watcha Gonna Do... etc. It will stick in your mind and effectively destroy any intelligent thought you might have for the duration of the show.

Whoa BABY!! So much has happened in here since I've been away, and that was just a short while! I've about lost track of what we were talking about...

Ok, how's this for MORE synchronicity - while you two (MysticMelody & lotusheartone) were posting at 9:11, i happened to look at the time in my car at the exact same time. (I seem to see 9:11 a lot more these days; before it was mainly 1:11, 11:11, 2:22, 3:33, 4:44, & 5:55) I wonder what the significance of that (9:11) is... but then, that's a WHOLE other thread!!!

Anyhoo, just stopping by to say hi!! *waving*

*being random*
Sunshine
p.s. I had dinner at the Olive Garden this evening, and i have to say, the breadsticks were, once again, HIGHLY disappointing , and i had been determined to give them a chance today. Somehow, the ones they make here aren't all that great - i'm SO aware i'm eating a baked piece of dough, while Fazoli's makes me forget that until about the 3rd or 4th one at least! I forget who (was it you, Mystic?) said they were good; I guess your place has a better Olive Garden than mine does!!

Well, Sunshine, you are probably right. Last time I went to Olive Garden the stix weren't as good as I remembered. Maybe I just remember them fondly!!! Now I'm going to have to go to Fazoli's soon. I have eat there (inside) so I can eat lots of fresh breadstix too.

HSC: I think you pretty much nailed it.

Jealousy for me has nothing to do with what others possess... whether it be material things, looks, etc.

I don't even feel jealousy in almost every way that others seem to think that this emotion is generally directed towards. I'm not envious. I am happy with the things that I have... I do always strive and set goals for myself, as I'm not happy unless I'm working towards something.

This is my jealousy: You described it perfectly.

"When I get jealous, I say, "I feel very jealous right now. I want to trust you, but I am insecure, and I just feel very threatened right now." The worst I will say is, "perhaps you would be happier with him... Perhaps he is more your type," or something like that, which is just an expression of my fears. I do not say mean things."

I also understand others views in that being insecure is not an attractive element. However, I believe that complete security is also having the ability to know, recognize and not be ashamed of your own short-comings... as everyone has short-comings... even if they try and deny and surpress them.

Give me someone that is humble enough to admit their faults... while understanding them and trying to evolve past them.

Seek to master yourself before you master others.

It seems that there are so many people in the world that are more concerned with correcting others... when they should be a little more worried about trying to over come their own issues.

P.S. I'm a 1st house moon also.

Well said, 1scorp.

I like what you said about mastering ourselves first. The further we remove that beam from our own eye, the more clearly we see, to pluck out the mote from another's eye.

Still, I find that, in trying to help (I would not say "master") others,
I am also helping myself, and working out my own views.

To expand upon my experience of jealousy:

I am surprised that I did not say this sooner...

What happen is that my own shortcomings suddenly appear to me in stark clarity, in utter relief, as it were, while all else receeds into the shadows. As if under a microscope, all I can see are the many ways in which I fall short of my ideal and my partner's ideal. At the same time, I am impressed with only the finest qualities of the person whom I am jealous of, and how perfectly they correspond to my and my partner's ideals.

I repeat my plea that we ought to honor this experience, as it is not all bad. To be overly hard on oneself is one thing, but it is always connected to the noblest ambitions to transcend oneself, and to be a better human being. Granted, we ought to be conscious of out strengths, for this is how we nurture them to continue to grow ever stronger. But we must be careful of resting on our laurels, and becoming lop-sided individuals. Shining the light on one area, we run the risk of creating equally sizable shadows on another. We must shine the light from all angles, and that means shining it into the shadows.

Jealousy is sometimes the flip side of passion!

I have known a few people who suffer from jealousy and they are all very passionate ones!

LOVE THYSELF FIRST.
RESPECT THYSELF.
KNOW THYSELF.
BE BRUTALLY HONEST WITH THYSELF.
AND LOVE THYSELF and learn and grow.

Passion as a flip side to jealousy?
Revolting!

My ex#1 and #2 were like that.

Yeah..VERY HEAVILY PASSIONATE SEX!

But when done it all felt ugly sordid and dirty.
That is not love, that is a vengence possessive kind of fuc-ing and headfuc-ing.
Bleccch!

Just my opinion.

But I am grossed out by those lust filled rages insecurity rages, taken out upon my body in their ridiculous attempts to prove something.
Never again!
YUUUCCCKKKY!
So...

>>>Sorry...cannot agree with that. I would recommend counseling. That is emotionally unhealthy. It may seem like passion, but that is a dangerous way to aquire it.

LOVE THYSELF FIRST.
RESPECT THYSELF.
KNOW THYSELF.

I find that the best way to love and know MYself is through relationship with others. It is a process of trial and eros. We can all serve as mirrors for each other. There is scarcely any better way to get to know and love oneself, then by finding oneself reflected in the other. But, this could also be what works for me - My 1st house moon and cancer descendent both have a lot to do with reflecting, being a mirror for others, and seeking myself through others, - as does Leo in the 7th. Also my Jupiter is in the 7th, and I tend to learn A LOT through personal, one on one interactions.

No, that is not love.
And thats not passion, either, fayte.
That's sadism.
There's a difference.
I'm sorry you had to go through that.
