Yeah really! You just glow MVM! I wanted to pop in to say if you tried to send an email about the portrait I never got it. Right now I'm to busy to take on another, but I wanted to make sure if you sent one and it went to the wrong address or something, that you didnt think I ignored it. Good luck with your move! Good Girl, that's kind of you to say. I don't speak with an accent at all, even though most people think I should .... usually I throw in an accent to amuse myself though T...I was off LL for a while busy with work and class and then came back and LL Central was gone, so I never emailed you. But thanks for checking back I'd love to see your work sometime either way though!!

Writes....yes. Weird that I do know what you're thinking (unless I'm wrong) ...cue more Twilight Zone. Wheels, I think it's because I tend to spoil them rotten. It's kind of like taking someone's kid, indulging them in candy and getting them all hyper (in this case cooking their favorite meals, getting them into video games, and reassuring them that there's nothing wrong with wanting to go to Italy for a few months to 'find themselves'), and then handing them back to the parent at the end of the day My ex mother-in-law hated me, despite all the smiles, I think. Terrible

I can identify with quite a bit of your list. But I'm so curious. Why on earth could you never live in Egypt again? Don't you kind of miss it as a part of you? IP: Logged |

Katatonic - It's odd how obvious it is, but I never got it through my thick skull until around the time I decided to get a divorce. I knew it before, consciously, but it's taken a loooooong time to sink in!Good Girl- Egypt is a part of me, yes. But it's not the country I used to know at all. It was VERY different when I was a child (yes, because I was a child, but also because in many other ways it's changed....for the worse.) .... I wanted to try to and see if I could live there, and I did try. The good thing is that I have tried, and my conscience is now clear knowing I cannot do it. I need my freedom, my pancetta / bacon, my Italian wine, and my sex (the wine sucks ((oh, and I love to cook, usually with decent wine)), no pancetta, and sex is usually anonymous). Egypt's social climate as it stands now and has been for about 15 years will not allow me these things. So I realize this sounds selfish and superficial. But my birth home has changed, and I also I am too. A visit is fine. Living there? Hell no. Cairo is aesthetically, to be blunt, a ****hole, and corrupt, and yet not receptive to help either. So....it's not going to work. And I'm just waaaaay too liberal a person and not just a European gal living there to get off the hook. I really don't care for the social climate there now. At all. there is just no way i could ever live in the middle east very long...NO WAY. lol. i got sexually harassed by a cop over there..he grabbed my boobs while i was asking for help. it was the weirdest experience ever.(its like hey a-hole just because i was born in america doesnt mean i like my boobs to be randomly touched) i can relate to your feelings about it. i love to visit, but thats it.IP: Logged |

Writes, that sucks! Yeah, it things like that which I can't deal with. When I was in Cairo, a friend of mine told me about a friend of hers who lived there and almost got raped by the police because they thought she was a hooker. Long story. But things didn't used to be like that there....it's gotten terrible. So no way would I live there again. IP: Logged |

It doesnt sit well with my ariesness. aries cant stand being told what to do esp when it comes to equal rights in middle east(there is none..lol)..im too feisty over there..lolIP: Logged |

UGH, I hate that I know what you mean all too well, Writes. When I was in Cairo I was getting divorced and my Aries Moon was going nuts....!! It was like, 'Are you kidding me? I've had 5 years of being chained to something and suppressing myself and now I have to KEEP DOING IT?' Hell no! I still dressed pretty conservatively, was extremely polite, etc, etc....but I was seething, just seething. It was like I was having to starve parts of myself for social survival.....even when I was hanging out with my European friends towards the end and going to the bars the last 3 weeks I was there, it was still like weird to not be able to dress as I want to. It was always something. So annoying. And no matter how much you try and hide your fangs, people can still see their glint when you open your mouth to talk....and talk....and rant IP: Logged |

No, he was Italian/American...which can be worse. I've got a couple of Middle Eastern guy friends, but they're definitely interesting...very different. Still, I couldn't date one. They can be terrible. IP: Logged |
