insomnia......i have learned to work with it. if i lay there awake, i just get up, make coffee act like its morning, hit the puter, do laundry ..whatever....laying there clock watching....for the birds....then i figure...tonight i will be tired enough to actually sleep past 3 or 4 am if i just get up....i am not hugely productive at 5am, but it beats clock watching.

bummer you dated some selfish jerks, but girlfriend, i have stories that would curl your hair....when you are looking for a person who is already in your head, well lets just say they call em a dime a dozen for a reason.

needle in the haystack for sure. but ....sometimes mr right now is ok if you need companionship from the opposite sex, just don't let yourself think mr right now is mr right.

bummer bout your tooth! URGH!

As always Miss Mars, I am thoroughly intrigued and inspired by your careful anaylysis of the boyfriend/type.

I've been compiling videos on my myspace blog to do this exact type of research. I can't be quite as objective as you, so I ask my son or daughter to look at them. To me they are so varied but not to my kids.

They said, "Mom you like skinny guys with black hair that dance funny, wear makeup, and sometimes have tophats on." LMAO.

I've been intensely interested lately in two videos. One is L.A. Guns, 'The Ballad of Jane'. Phil lewis is very intriguing in that video. It is such a lush, beautiful video to begin with, but there is somethin about him....can't put my finger on it.

The other video is The Black Crowes, 'Thorn in My Pride.' Now Mr. Robinson is a Sag and me dont date me, but there is a strange pull, doesn't quite feel romantic, but it is something....
It is fascinating, typing, I mean. I'm sure you know that there are all sorts of theories in biology, psychology that try to explain this for us. But I'm right there with you, it is something you have to figure out yourself.
God I wish I could post pics as easily as you guys. I would love to hear your opinion on whether you think I am in my range of type or not.

And Eric Stoltz I loved him too!
I have a side-compartment attraction to redheads. It is so strange. I think it started with Danny Bonaduce when I was a little girl watching the Partridge family. I dunno. I have a red-headed Scorpio ex, (lord he still calls me when he is drunk and wants to argue about things that happened over 20 years ago, even though he is currently engaged=weirdo) and my kids Dad is a red head. They do have a stange allure.

What you said about everyone wanting the tall dark and handsome? That doesn't apply in my life. Most of my friends like the beefy blonde frat dude, or the bleachy blonde surfer dude. I have very few friends that date dark men. They think I'm strange cuz I'm into that look.

Then again, I come from New Jersey, everyone there looks like that! Seriously, in my hometown people were either Italian or Jewish, and sometimes it is hard to tell the difference. So maybe what you always saw as a child has an influence as well?

ARGGGG! We could drive ourselves nutty like this!

LOL – where are you going to find the perfect tophat and make-up wearing man Gypsee? Probably in a band, sounds like. You were destined for the band guy! Yeah, I guess you want someone different from what you are used to seeing. I only knew a few Italians growing up and I so loved them! I guess I always will…

There is something about types though – as soon as Eli Roth appeared on the screen I was like purrrrr. He is my type all over. Down to the thick eyelashes – I always seem to find the guys with the best eyelashes , they look like they are wearing eye make-up but nope, they are just naturally beautiful. The guys usually have nice lips too, the only one who had thin lips was the “Matthew” Capricorn, much like the real Matthew! I like them kinda beefy or built too – the only ones who weren’t were “Zach” Gemini and “Sacha” Capricorn. The shortest were “Zach” Gemini and “Sean/David” Scorpio and they were 6’0 even! The rest of the guys were either 6’3” or 6’4”. That is because they have to be bigger and taller than me, makes me feel feminine. I need those big guys, I like to be the little spoon and they just do it so well. They also usually like a woman with curves, so there you go! I mean “Bobby” sought me out and wanted me for my body! LOL, yeah, that was 9 years ago. I’ll think about that the next time I wiggle into my Spanx! Naw, I’m only about 15 pounds (a size) larger than back then. So, as much as I want to try a “House” or Stipe-type on for size (hee-hee), I just think about the lack in cuddlebility and I’m like “eh”. Even though “Sacha” was slender he was still a tall spoon. Most of them been some Italian blend too - “Zach”’s family came “right off the boat”, “Bobby” was Italian and Russian (sounds like salad dressing), “Sacha” was ¾ Italian and ¼ Jewish (his name is similar too , minus Baron), ‘Sean/David” – Irish-Italian, who downplayed the Italian but had an Italian last name and I dated an Irish-Italian Aries who played up the Italian but had an Irish last name. Italian men are funny though, they all know what part of Italy they are from and they suddenly get these accents, even the half-Italian guys – “I’m Napolitan”, “I’m Calabrese” only the one (“Zach”) had ever been there! But it is good to have pride. “Eric” of course, was Irish and proud with the hair and name to prove it!

So there it is:

* Olive skin/Dark hair
* Green, hazel or brown eyes with thick brows and lashes
* Dark, thick hair and facial hair (permanent 5 o’clock shadow seems to be the case)
* Italian blend (lol) of some kind
* Muscular and strong (sometimes under a thin layer of “chub”)
* Hairy (usually with the thick brow comes the chest hair!)
* Leos & Caps seem to work best

Talking about this has me so over my blonde/Anglo/skinny man phase! (If your last name ends in a vowel, call me!)

AerialCircus! Where and how have you been?!

After a lifetime of going through a swathe of different men I conclude that I don't have a type.

Got a massive crush on Obama at the moment.

DTM, I've been off in la-la land with the Buddhist (my friend E calls him "buddude"), taking my son all over creation in the summer weather, generally getting awesome, etc. I would pop into LL from time to time to spy on ya'lls KTAA threads- curious that it was during Merc rx that I felt the urge to post again, heh. How have you been??!?

I have noticed something about my type and how it relates to my chart…

I have Venus and Adonis conjunct the DC, hence the “hot” guys and Jupiter in the 7th, hence the big guys along with Mercury in the 7th, hence (lol) the smart guys and Sun, hence the slight resemblances to my father, who is a 6’5” academic and muscular athlete (hello Electra!)…

I guess that explains my “hot” guy history because I myself am not that hot! I mean, don’t get me wrong, my butter is always whipped (Southern slang meaning - I am always well put together) but I am not conventionally gorgeous, sexy or hot. I joke about being the “hot” girl with the geek, just because they looked and acted like a typical “geek” while I was more outgoing and “out there” (that was twice actually, with “Sean/David” and “Zach”). Even in my “short skirt phase” I never showed any cleave, I am very modest actually. I wear form fitting clothes but not cleavage bearing clothes. They say that Leo women are not conventionally beautiful but they have something about them, a “raw sexuality” thing about them. I am fun, funny, smart and fearless plus I have been told many times, by guys, that I think and act like a guy – I guess that is what attracts them! Yeah, not too many guys go for the “delicate blossom” act and the “please save me” thing is strong, but only temporarily – I can’t do either one of those anyway!

Ah yes Wheels, I understand the Obama love as well – Columbia and Harvard educated, calm cool and collected, winning smile – he is the man. We actually have lots of astrological things in common – Leo with Aqua rising, he has Moon in Gemini, I have Moon in Libra, he married a Cappie, I want a Cappie of my own – we are practically astrological twins! LOL

Yay Aerial! I am so happy for you and Buddude! You deserve one of those nice, comfy relationships. I hope Moonie had a good time, this was a pretty good summer for play, it didn’t get too hot until the very end of it. I am okay, finding out that grad school kinda bites but, hey, that’s okay, I just want to get it over with.

I think that (once again) I wasted the Jupiter-Venus (1st to 7th) opposition transit - in which Venus is also conjunct my natal Jupiter, which is opposed transiting Jupiter (if that makes sense). I feel very strongly that I should have gone on a date tonight. I have been feeling very amorous lately. I saw Inglorious Basterds for the second time and for the first time I wish I had someone with me. I am usually a movie-going loner but it would have been cool to have a man with me. Not to watch me scarf down my hotdog before the previews were over though. All in due time. I don't feel quite ready yet.

I am beginning to think that transits, solar charts and all of that are just a bunch of those darn self-fulfilling prophecy thingies. I haven't thought about the date thing BUT my solar return chart is full of love stuff, it's like "I must take advantage of this". It is crazy. This is the first time I am doing a solar chart though, I didn't even know what it was until I started coming here. It makes sense though. I have checked out other years and they have been spot on - years that I have focused on school and work and self. Now it is a love year and I couldn't care less about school or work, lol.

ETA: I have been spending money like there is no tomorrow though - that darn Jupiter-Venus thing going on!

You know, I don't know how to do any of those charts, not even synastry. I'm not sure if I want to know, really.

Would that make my expectations higher and therefore my disappointments greater??

Some wise person once said, "Ignorance is Bliss."

So, do tell, what you been spending your duckets on?

I just got a new pair of high top converse with flames! I gotta show them to you. This will be a major engineering feet (pun intended) if I can actually get this pic to you. I am all alone today, so I have some time to try some techie stuff out.

Now, have you seen 'The Ten Commandments'?
If you liked Yul in The King, you will love him in that. He was 'The Bad Guy; but so swoon worthy it didn't matter.
That movie got me so into him, I went to the library and read some biographies on him. WHAT an interesting dude, he was!

OOo, we can look at his chart, if you want.

I am glad to see that I am not the only one who has post-mortem crushes! I fell hard for Orson Welles after seeing Citizen Kane a few years ago. I know, I know everyone thinks "Oh, fat Orson Welles" but did anyone ever see him in Macbeth?:

...Macbeth in leather pants?...

...Close-up Macbeth?...

...or, Macbeth behind the scenes?...

I think not, LOL!

I did see what Yul was a Cancer! Of course I had to look that up. I have not seen - The Ten Commandments. I'll wait until Easter or something though, lol.

I also read that Yul and Orson died on the same day...interesting...

You are right about not knowing but I think that someone like me needs a push, especially in the love department.

So far (lol) I have bought...

- Two pairs of Converse All Star low tops - I needed a new pair of black - I tend to run my sneakers through the ground - so I set out for those but there was a "Buy one get one 1/2 off!" sale so I ended up getting them in black and charcoal. I figured since they were "neutrals" they were "essential" so there was my justification.

- Three mandarin collar tops from Oldnavy.com - another place to get basics. If I find something I like there I usually get 3 or 4.

- OPI nail polishes - I was out of my famous Bora-Bora-ing Pink so I set out to get just one, the same one. Of course I decided "Let me try something different" so I ended up getting 4 more and they are all so "different" (LOL)...

l to r: Blushingham Palace, Not So Bora-Bora-ing Pink, Suzi & The Lifeguard, Aphrodite's Pink Nightie, And This Little Piggy

...like Julia Robert in Steel Magnolias "Blush and Bashful" or "pink and pink". I can't help it, I love pink nails!

- New make-up - I wanted to try Bare Minerals but I decided I'd wait and just get a Bare Escentuals "Buxom" lip gloss in Ruby(which the sales girl recommended, lol, "it is a lip plumping gloss..."). It is pretty awesome, I must say, although it looks just like my other less expensive, drugstore brand gloss...

All this not to mention seeing the same movie twice (and soon to be three times) as well as dining out (which needs to stop immediately)...

Is the tophat guy’s name Phil Lewis? If so, he is a Capricorn! The tattoos don’t match up though, but the video is from 1990, correct? He might have gotten the sleeves since then…Is it the same guy? Actually I am sure it is because The Ballad of Jayne is on the “Cocked and Loaded” album, which he did lead vocals on. So, you’ve found yourself another Capricorn Gypsee!

*bangs head on wall*

Yes it is Phil Lewis, I googled his b-day and couldn't find it, but I swear I was thinking Capricorn because of the sharp features, but I kept veering toward Libra because of the pretty factor.
I should of kept in mind that that was the era of pretty! Duh!
My kids Dad is a cap, he has four tats.
Kid Rock is one and I think he has at least one visible one, but maybe more! GRRRRR.

Thanks, DTM,
anyway, of course I love dead movie stars! And dead rock stars! It is quite normal to idolize and remember someone the way they were, yes?
I was surprised and pleased at your photos of Orson, he was very handsome! whoulda thunk it!
I got a new version of Wuthering Heights at the library today, it is a remake, I've only seen the original. brb, I'm gonna go get it so I can tell you who is in it...
OKAY, it is Juliette Binoche and Ralph Fiennes! ooooo. Made in 1992, how'd I miss that?
I also got 'Mrs. Dalloway' (I'm sure your familiar with the story and its offshoots, but this one looked good, circa, 1997.

Your so fun to talk to DTM, I wish you didn't have to work so you could hang out on the computer all day and talk to me about rock stars and movies, lol!
But I know you need your money for all those nail polishes! Yes, you've got pink covered! I'm not even gonna tell you how many nailpolishes I own, cause you will scoff!
Hint: Only the colors rock stars would wear.

by the way, you totally cracked me up in my thread about the childhood tv shows, because you listed yours in alphabetical order! OH my!

Well, come back soon and chat!
I have a free day tomorrow, I'll see if I can't find you anymore boyfriends on youtube.

Sorry about Phil, I know you wanted a Cappy for yourself, but you know how I feel about tophats!!!!

lol. "scottsmyscorp" is my youtube user name, I'm such a dork, but I love him, he sure IS a wild one. I hope he kicks his habit, I really do, he is so talented.

anyway, (this would be easier if you had a myspace) I dug some up off myspace for you.

K, this one is a Two-for-one special http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LccpIQuQ2lk

This one I thought would amuse you, and appeal to your sometimes liking of blondes:
http:/www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDfl0r1ByIc

This is a person I've met a few times at a job I used to have. He is one of the most magnetic persons I have ever seen. He literally melts you into your spot on the floor, and leaves (even me) speechless. I have no idea of his sign. Never thought to look it up, but I have my suspicions... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQPAarQk2ow

This one, well, you said a little bit of chub was okay, and he just makes me laugh. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYXZAA1xzOI

This guy is just too adorable. Again don't know his sign, never thought to look. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHLMAmrvFmI

and finally, my huge 80's crush. I don't love him as much as Michael Hutchence, my lifetime crush, but it is close. I have tried looking up his sign, and cannot find it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpkVt9XTdtg

Whew...I hope all these work.
Have you considered Scott Stapp for boyfriend material? I like him, but he is almost TOO good looking, if you know what I mean. lol. We are nuts.
I just noticed you have a big thread in SU, how did I miss that? I'll have to check it out later when I get back on.

Oh man - the "chub" one didn't come up, I was looking forward to that!

Michael Hutchence was an Aquarius born January 22, 1960 - looks like a Cap/Aqua cusper though. There you go with those Caps again!

Nah, Scott Stapp doesn't really do it for me.

I have been going through a strange time - I am not sure of what to do with myself. It is actually something that a few people I know are dealing with and even Aerial - choosing between the dream and reality. It is very hard, especially when you aren't sure of what the dream is. I don't know, it will work itself out...
