The 2nd one led to marriage?

So would union aspects in draco and draco/tropical mean a past marriage then DD?

Yeah, that could be it too!... cos a few of my saved synastries don't have any UNION aspects.

WOW, DD, I'm not even going to hazard a guess on those two (even though I have a 50% chance of being right, lol)...to me, they BOTH LOOK like excellent synastries for romantic relationships--nice angle conjunctions, etc.

I bet the attraction was actually reciprocal, yet one person did not want to act on it or acknowledge it.

Anyway, I am hopeless at this...looking forward to reading DEnise's take. Hopefully if I see it in action enough, I'll get better at it.

It seems logical to say that #1 was the work synastry, with him being the smitten one (that Venus/Eros stuff and all the MC)...but somehow I'm not completely sure of that.

#2 has a LOT of very interesting angle DW type stuff, but not as much overt sex stuff.

Ultimately=#1 as the work crush, with him interested (but like I said, it would definitely be a reciprocal attraction in either case, just maybe someone was in denial); #2 as the marrieds.

Lara--I think Union in the draco and/or draco-to-natal would represent what you want to unite with on the Soul level, connecting to your NN's purpose. So if your draco Union conjuncts someone's natal Jupiter, on the soul level you want to connect with their luck, spirit of adventure, and sense of expansiveness.

i agree with your analysis Lucia.. i felt the same about nr 2.

Thanks for the draco info

I guess that a JUNO square would work if its "My sun /juno/karma square his AC (0)" and also in draco "his draco PLUTO conjunct her natal JUNO/KARMA (0) and opp her n sun (0) his draco JUNO trine her n JUNO.KARMA (0)"
and UNION is square his NN (0)

Wow, this thread has a lot of new posts! I don't have enough time to look in great detail right now, but DD, for your list of 4 couples, I'm guessing #2 for a long-term relationship.

#4 also looks strong, but seems to feature an attraction based more on idealism and a sense of eery similarity, than on magnetism/physical presence together. Very dreamy and surreal. I wonder if it ever fully came to fruition or if it was just a matter of loving each other from afar. With a mutual Saturn/SN conjunction (wow), there are roots in past life experiences that could draw these people back into each other's lives -- certainly they feel something very familiar about each other, not just in a romantic sense but in a heavy, "I've known you before and we did some serious stuff together" way. Looking at the Neptune aspects, the alignment of non-rotated angles, Mercuries conjunct... there is a mutual sense of similarity, but probably also a strange bubble preventing the people from uniting in this lifetime.

#2 has more staying power in the real world; perhaps a lot of aggression (lots of Mars energy there) but certainly both people are drawn to each other in a tangible way. The relationship may very physical, possibly volatile, but there is love and dedication behind it. Out of all the synastries, this one seems the most "real" and immediate. So it has my guess for the long-term relationship -- assuming only one of the four fits that category.

#3 may also have some compatibility; they're drawn together because they recognize so much of themselves in each other. Some physical attraction could be sparked near the beginning but it might not be stable or long-lasting. And eventually, if they're in a relationship, the partners may get sick of one another -- since their similarities include not only positive qualities but also negative and annoying ones (as indicated by conjunct Suns and Venuses). If they are just friends and not lovers, or if they're just acquaintances, they could probably get along better than if they became very close.

#1 is interesting. Lots of Mercury action. The second person is drawn to the way the first person expresses themselves, their mind, their thoughts, their communication style... it doesn't look like a romantic relationship to me, but it could be an excellent friendship, with a sense of deep and familiar comfort (SN/moon conjunction).

Oops, I just saw the post saying three of those are celebrity crushes. In that case, definitely #2 as the relationship, and you can ignore the parts about how the other pairs played out (since I assume there hasn't been the opportunity for an actual relationship, romantic or otherwise, to form).

Yay, glad to have guessed the same as Denise on the 4 couples! (Even if we are both wrong, which I doubt, I will feel less silly.)

Denise--what's your take on the two couples, one work colleagues who never hooked up, the other who married? I found that one really tricky compared to the celebrity crushes...

Do you agree that, out of those two, the pair who got together was probably mutually attracted, with one person just denying or supressing it? Would love to read your thoughts.

Lucia, Lara, Denise,

thank you for your analyses.

I almost wished I never had mentioned that three of these synastries are only "crush"synastries, cause that "manipulats" your interpretation.

And as I see astrology, it is valid for every kind of connection (in the case of synastry), no matter if they are lovers, friends, complete strangers etc.
Of course the astrological connections would be expressed differently, but it would be expressed.
You know energy never disappear, it just changes.

Anyway, regarding the four synastries: Of course all of you were completely right.
Synastry 2 is the one where there has been an actual relationship.

But I`d be interested to know what astrological reasons you have for your judgement?
Or was it completely intuitive?

Lara,

the third synastry is with me and Andy.
When I saw it for the first time I was surprised at the amount of sexual aspects, considering the fact that he is apparently gay.
But since every connection is going to be expressed and energy never disappears, just changes, I wonder if he might feel annoyed by me and even angry or repulsed by me as a reaction to that strong energy that is triggered between our Venus-Mars-Pluto-Eros-positions?

You know attraction that can`t be expressed and can`t even be consciously felt sometimes turns into the opposite.
At least that`s how I explained it to myself.

What I mean is following:
the astrological connection will tell us from a purely astrological point of view, how the energies of two people work together and what we actually unleash in each other.
BUT this "triggering of energies" is being filtered through the way we approach life, our life-decisions etc.

Denise,

The 4th synastry is the one between me and Jude Law.

"a sense of eery similarity"
The funny thing is that in certain angles he resembles my father and especially my brother quite much.
And even funnier, his sister looks like a good mix of my mum, my aunt and probably me.
So much for similiarity.
Actually I once did that thing on hereditary com, and it appeared that my brother resembled Jude more than our father. LOL
But then it was to be expected: I once saw a pic of Jude`s father, and he looked like a brother of my maternal grandfather. It was eery.

"I wonder if it ever fully came to fruition or if it was just a matter of loving each other from afar."
You see you were absolutely SPOT ON with this.

Do you think that too much Neptune hinders an (earth-based) relationship?

" With a mutual Saturn/SN conjunction (wow), there are roots in past life experiences"
I`ve been having flashbacks, yes.

"ut probably also a strange bubble preventing the people from uniting in this lifetime."
You see, that is also true.
Even though I am still pretty amazed, that coincidence somehow managed to give me t he chance of seeing him live on stage.
Something I wouldn`t even have thought of as possible some years ago when he came to my attention.

But well, that is true for these other guys, too. Somehow our paths always "almost" cross. It`s almost funny.

" perhaps a lot of aggression (lots of Mars energy there)"
Well, they are two men.

" but certainly both people are drawn to each other in a tangible way."
In what aspects do you see that?

"partners may get sick of one another -- since their similarities include not only positive qualities but also negative and annoying ones"
Well, that is even true from my perspective as only audience.
It`s a continuous up and down- great enthusiasm, very strong fascination and then I feel like I really get sick of him or annoyed by him without any reason.
It`s probably good that we donīt know each other.

"#1 is interesting. Lots of Mercury action. The second person is drawn to the way the first person expresses themselves, their mind, their thoughts, their communication style... "
It is my longest lasting crush. He has an exact Mercury-Eros-conjunction in Aries exactly on my IC and opposing my Pluto (and DR Karma) and squaring my Mars, and trine my Mars, Neptune, NN, ASC.

Of course it was his voice I fell for, literally.
And I really like the way he expresses himself.
It feels great and uplifting and comforting to see him, for he is the epitome of "positive" to me. He somehow manages to make me feel good about myself.

Lara,

I still think, that DRaconic aspects, especially the oppositions (because of their connection to the SN), can hint at past lives.

But the more important thing is the spiritual connection.

or maybe just a lesson to learn?

DD, interesting! I posted my astrological reasoning...but maybe it got lost in this big thread?

quote:
Okay--new guess...since only ONE of these is a real relationship, I think #4 is actually one of the celebrity crushes, because:
Venus-NN conjunction....I had this in my one unrequited attraction ever, my poor NN had nowhere to put itself!
Venus-ASC conjunct Neptune...again, Venus/ASC sparks Neptune's fantasy life, perfect for a celebrity crush. In a relationship, that Saturn-SN DW would be REALLY gluey, not to mention all the intense planet-angle conjunctions...but because there is a 75% chance of each of these being a celebrity crush, this one is just too Neptune-y to be the real-life LTR...it is probably just a HUGE celebrity crush.
Knowing there is only one real-life relationship, this is hard because they're ALL Neptune-y.

I am going to pick #2 as the real-life relationship, because:
-Mars/Saturn DW...glue and energy
-Moon/NN
If I am right, I think this relationship is a little like PAIR #1 in my list--where the couple stayed together almost 15 years, but finally split up--there's not enough angle-to-angle conjunction (although I would want to check at a wider orb), yet there is a nice balance of Saturn with Sun-Venus, and there's an evenness to the Venus contacts.

quote:
I am basing this partly on the idea that Eros can represent creative inspiration/a muse...so I think groupies will often have a bunch of their planets contacting a star's Eros, though I may have this backwards. With Jim Morrison (I'm way too young to have actually been his groupie, but he has come up in some of my work) I am the Node person: NN conjunct Sun (1), NN conjunct Eros (0)...also his Venus right on my MC, which makes sense.

#1=The person with the NN trine the other's Mercury and square the other's Pluto is the one with the crush

#2=this is the real-life relationship

#3=The person with NN conjunct the other's Mercury is the one with the crush

#4=the person with NN conjunct the other's Venus is the one with the crush

I'm getting less cynical lately about the reach of synastry readings.

To pick out what's a fantasy relationship/projection, I would look at:
-NN contacts (NN conjunct Venus has a reputation for being synastry love-glue, but I think it can also indicate a fixation that doesn't play out in the couple ever actually hanging out, traveling to Bali together, cooking dinner, making love)
-Neptune stuff
-Eros stuff

It is so interesting that Denise wrote that #2 had "more staying power in the real world" BEFORE noticing that 3 were celeb crushes...that is how I picked out #2 once I knew the others were not real relationships, but back when I thought they were ALL real relationships, it was harder, because #4's synastry is so intense. Makes me think that maybe if #4 WAS a real relationship, it would play out much the same way--lots of fantasy, projection, and intense involvement on that level, less actual, practical, concrete engagement and connection...the difference is that in real life maybe it would be two-sided or see-saw-like, with the people alternately projecting on each other/engaging each other's fantasies.

Lucia,

"-NN contacts (NN conjunct Venus has a reputation for being synastry love-glue, but I think it can also indicate a fixation that doesn't play out in the couple ever actually hanging out, traveling to Bali together, cooking dinner, making love)"
I don`t really agree on NN contacts always or most often representing fantasy relationship. As a matter of fact I think that NN-connections are neutral in that way.
There is always a lesson involved, but how it is taught or learned, is not written in stone.

For example:
Venus-NN
I think the lesson is about love or even creativity; the Venus-person teaches the NN person about love.
But there are different ways to do so, it can be through unrequited love, but it can also happen in a love relationship.
For example Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith also have a Venus-NN-conjunction and their relationship seems to be pretty mutual.

"-Neptune stuff"
Definitely agree on this one.

"-Eros stuff"
Not so sure that it always have to do with fantasy relationships. AFter all projection / fantasy is ALWAYS an element of that "falling in love"-scenario.
I think Eros might indicate the possibility for that feeling of being "in" love, without really telling if it is mutual or has a future.
AFter all a relationship doesn`t consist in just being "in love".

"because #4's synastry is so intense."
Yes, I always thougth that for the synastry with a film-actor it was surprisingly intense.

" Makes me think that maybe if #4 WAS a real relationship, it would play out much the same way--lots of fantasy, projection, and intense involvement on that level, less actual, practical, concrete engagement and connection"
I definitely can see that.

Actually I see the see-saw pattern quite clearly, as indicated in the strong Neptune-aspects on the one hand and the Saturn/Pluto on the other hand. If that was a real relationship, it would be probably be a bit like heaven and hell, but not very much on earth.

Lara,

I think, that in the Draco`s there are only these past life experiences engraved, which are somehow significant in term of our spiritual life, too, and especially this incarnation.

So yes, it shows some deeper layer and helps to understand some things, but to materialize them, aspects to the tropical are needed.

Oh, I totally agree--100%. Lots of real relationships have intense node connections and it's one of the things I look for for "glue" in a synastry...and I have Eros stuff in synastry with people I have a bigtime mutual attraction with.

If I saw the aspects I was talking about (even Neptune), I wouldn't necessarily assume at all that the relationships weren't real...it was just that, once already armed with the knowledge that several of the synastries were of one-way projection/obsession, those are some things I would look for.

this makes me nervous but i'll guess

1-creative collaboration
not a lot of moon venus dsc action but a good amount of jupiter saturn mars neptune, seems very uplifting and creative and brought to the real world, if this is the right guess jup conj saturn is *great* for those who work together [sext, trine too] and is really a friendship aspect, and both of their suns seem to be given a good dose of respect
2-unrequited (person on the right smitten)
if this is right then answer please if the person on the right has mercury ruling their asc/dsc or some strong planet; this one has me confused though because can also see where their energies would really align and could work well together (in a practical sense), but then there's the venus trine the other's moon, moon trine sun, and esp. jup sq venus and more they all reek of "stars in the eyes" and it doesn't look reciprocal as much
3-intense fling
this pair has a lot of aspects that generate energy right up front: sun sq venus, moon conj moon, sun opp uranus, merc opp uranus, uranus sq venus, dw of mars sq neptune, it goes on too, so there's a lot. the moon action is mostly nice but all that energy was prob more than they wanted to/could sustain.

Lucia,

I`d also pick the 2nd one as the unrequited one, just from my intuition.

Does Venus rule the 5th house? (of the right person)
Maybe that Chiron-square would indicate a thrashing of her romantic energies?

I`m a bit confused though about the high emphasis on Venus and Mars of the left person.

The 3rd one has much Uranus energy (Sun-Uranus, Venus-Uranus) plus a challenging and mystifying Venus-Neptune-opposition. Looks exciting but somehow not very stable.
So maybe that is the fling?

EDIT:
I have noticed that in unrequited love often the ruler of the 5th house of the loving partner is either unaspected or has such nice aspects like square or opposition to Saturn (exception would be if Saturn ruled a relationship house for the other person).
I guess maybe Neptune and Chiron can play a central role here, too.

You're both completely 100% right!!

These are all my relationships--I am the person on the right. I don't have any significant Mercury rulerships happening, but Venus does rule my 5th house (empty, and in Taurus/Gemini.)

PAIR #2
I'd love more insight re: that unrequited relationship. It is the only time anything like that has ever happened to me....and I must've had mediocre or one-sided synastry with lots of people in my 30+ years of life on earth. Also, I really, really believed he was very attracted to me but just shy/blocked/troubled...the whole thing made me doubt my intuition, not to mention my attractiveness.

My Sun, Merc, Aphrodite, Adonis, Mars, and Union fall in his 5th house, with my Union conjunct his Eros (0), and his 5th house Saturn (square his natal Sun) conjunct my 8th house Sun at a wider orb than I used for this guessing game (5). With that NN-Venus, it's as if maybe the whole thing ought to have taught me some lesson, but I didn't learn anything from it.

PAIR #1 is a great creative collaboration,

PAIR #3 was the fling...a very very typical Aries-Leo thing. We also had:
-His Lust conjunct my AC
-Angel conjunct my AC
-His Aphrodite conjunct my Valentine
-His Eros conjunct my Aphrodite
-My Angel conjunct my Union
-My Aphrodite conjunct his Eros
-My Valentine conjunct his AC
...and that's just a few of the conjunctions. Lots of other tight asteroid-personal planet aspects too.

One thing that strikes me in PAIR #3, the mutually intense fling, is that my Eros makes NO contacts with any of his planets...zero zip zilch. Most of the time when I am romantically obsessed with someone, my 4th house Taurus Eros is all over them.

In my relationships with both the guy I have a crush on now (#2 in the first guessing game, who everyone picked out right away as the never-lovers ), and this guy (pair #3), we have:
-My EROS in his 8th, his EROS in my 8th
(but with the fling, his EROS conjunct my Adonis-Aphrodite, his Aphrodite conjunct my Valentine...with the unconsummated crush, his EROS conjunct my MARS, his Valentine-Union conjunct my Adonis-Aphrodite, his Aphrodite conjunct my DSC)
-My VALENTINE conjunct his ASC
-VENUS-PLUTO (with the fling, his Venus exactly trine my Pluto, with the crush, my Venus exactly square his Pluto, my Pluto widely conjunct his Venus)
-Conjunctions to my MC-ANGEL (with the fling, his Uranus-Union on my MC, with the crush, his Pluto there)

I think I feel that Valentine-ASC energy as lust, rather than love. With the crush, I love him very much as a friend/collaborator, and I lust for him, but I don't feel romantic love so much--the way I love him is fully summed up by our NN-SN conjunction and our NN-Jupiter DW. With the fling, I just full on lusted after him and vice-versa.

re: unrequitted love

I think it's because there are too many stressful aspects to your Venus and Chiron there

there was a guy that was madly attracted to me, I was not: my planets made only stressful aspects to his Venus conj Mars

Peri, that makes sense...the relationship certainly had a Chiron feel to it. I wish I had birth info for anyone who has felt unrequited attraction for me, but I'm only ever interested in collecting the birthtimes of people I am intrigued by or attracted to.

EDITED: But Peri--I am the one on the right, with my planets making the stressful aspects to his Venus and his Chiron!
