Speaking of that aspect--Sun conjunct Mars opposing or squaring a crucial part of the chart.
My Libra friend has Sun conjunct Mars in Libra in the 8th house square the moon in Capricorn.
I don't think he has a history of abusing anyone but he told me that he has had to struggle to get his anger under control. What does this placement seem like to you?

Ladya,

Imagine for a second that PDF said this:

quote:
Alot of people would no doubt congratulate you on wearing blue jeans, and liking the colour blue.
But i'm afraid i'm not one of those fools. I find it staggering and ridiculous. I'm sorry you went through having to wear tight blue jeans for an an entire night - but that's how i feel.

Moreover it's people like you that enable idiots like all those other denim lovers out there - to continue wearing denim time and time again.

Why do these people get such lame sentences in court, when their tight jeans stop traffic and have caused manya drunken-male car crash!!

I'm sorry but it's just not on and they need dealing with properly. Personally i'd just put them up against the wall and shoot them.

I would also question what you describe as 'love' OF DENIM - and i would say that having been what you've been through it is likely to be some kind of repressed emotional reaction, flat affectivity and a loss of self-understanding.

You had your TIGHT denim pants cut through.. all night long – that must've HURT!! That doesn't make sense. It makes no sense whatsoever and it isn't love of tight denim!!! It's confusion.

OK - seriously.. if it was something like that..
Would you even care at all about what he said?

I'm only saying this to you - because there are other places in your life.. and other people whom you can discuss the situation with.. and whom it may be beneficial to discuss it with (obviously not here). For what it's worth, my gut feeling says that you are not completely OK. This is only based on your reaction to his post. I could be entirely wrong

Anyhow.. Ladya -

Your life is your own business. You simply posted your experience on here.. so we can all learn something about anger and the way it is expressed..

PDF has his own take.. which is fine. He's a highly Sagittarian man and he will tell you what he thinks whether you asked a question about it or not.. His ex nickname was marsconjunctmercury.. I thought you'd be familiar with his posting style since you've both been around for years.. But maybe you haven't seen him around before?

I would agree with what he said ^ if this happened yesterday. If your mother had broken your jaw yesterday - I would strongly suggest that you stay far away from her.

But it happened years ago.. Time went on, you went through the court proceedings and all that jazz.. and time changes things! You can't harbour hate forever. There is no point. So if you DID manage to let go - and you DID forgive.. I think that is a positive thing.
And the fact that she has changed in her behaviour towards you is also a step in the right direction for her.. a step which may not have been easy considering her mental problems.

This thread is not the place to discuss you and your life.. and it is not up to me or anyone else to judge or dissect your life..

Thanks (((Vapor)))
I was thinking about if someone's sexual style was the same as their anger style.
What do you think?
The Mars energy is outward power which would be expressed as anger and/or sexuality--wouldn't it?
Wouldn't they both be expressions of one's sense of one's own power?
Would they be expressed in a similar way?

Hmmmmmmmm........well My 11th house Sun in Aries is doing a dance with an Opposition to Uranus in Libra and both are squaring off to my Mars in Capricorn in the 8th. Quick to anger - sometimes. Smoldering underneath and timing when I will strike - maybe.

Mars is in a very nice trine with my 12th house Saturn. I am patient and tolerant to a point and then I draw my line and read the other party the riot act. If things get very bad then I will write the person off - however friendship is forever with me....contradictory, I know.

So I find with me it just depends what is what. When I was expectant with Missy then PREGZILLA took ober and wanted to devour people and spit them out - I have tamed up a bunch.

Hi Ami!

quote:
I was thinking about if someone's sexual style was the same as their anger style.
What do you think?

I don't think that works for me. My anger style - you described perfectly - because I'm very detached. Sexually I'm not detached at *all*.. I'm very passionate - but that could be other aspects I have and my Sun being a fire sign.

quote:
The Mars energy is outward power which would be expressed as anger and/or sexuality--wouldn't it?
Wouldn't they both be expressions of one's sense of one's own power?

hmmmm Maybe it's because my "power" is very controlled.. I pick and choose how I express it.
So in an angry situation or a highly emotional situation - I would choose to stay detached because I feel it's the best thing to do.
In a sexual relationship I wouldn't have a reason to detach. I'd have to feel distrusting, upset - have some kind of problem with the guy to *detach*. When things are good between us I'm sensual and loving. I have a strong urge to make them feel good.

You asked about Venus and Mars - I think Venus is more about seduction - attraction - drawing someone in.. Mars is more about instinctual sex-drive - pursuit of a sexual partner..
Venus is more about feminine sexuality.. and Mars is more about masculine sexuality - if you consider very traditional feminine-masculine symbols.

How do you think this plays out for you ^ with the Gem Venus and Cancer Mars?

Mars in Aquarius in the 7th house as a singleton...
First I tend to become distant when I'm angry. Then I always talk to sort things out, and I expect the same thing from the other person I don't like it when the other person becomes quiet or doesn't answer or tries to avoid conflict AFTER I get mad. I don't calm down until the situation is solved.

Mars in Sag, mutual reception trine Jupiter in Aries, sextile Sun, Moon, Mercury, opposite Chiron. I get really hyper and yelly really quickly and then after I'm over it, I'm over it. I rarely hold grudges. Which is why I it's difficult for me to let go of certain individuals in my life. I also find that if I confront people while I'm angry, I regret it when I'm not angry anymore.

Ladya, don't let PDF upset you. He's clearly never been to a women's shelter or taken into account the dynamics of the relationships between different people. If the person that broke your jaw and put you in the hospital was a random person you met at a bar one night, yeah press charges and never speak to them again. But your MOTHER? I understand. I couldn't do that to my mom. And you're not a weak person for not doing it to yours, either.

Dear Jupiters Girl
It seems like you are saying that Aqua Mars needs to talk it out and cannot rest until they do.
I saw this with my mother who was a strong Aqua(Sun combust Mercury in the 12th house)
She loved to argue-over anything--but could not stand if anyone was angry at HER .
She did not like"brewing "anger i.e. the silent treatment which my father used. I have to check where his Mars was---maybe good old Cancer lol.

Mars in Scorpio here!

I'm surprisingly non-confrontational and very far from the vicious/spiteful description you often hear about in relation to this placement. I'm not at all vengeful either, but shamefully enough I have occasionally used violence, (when started on first, obviously)..... I also have a sharp tongue if someone's been REALLY out of line. Normally I won't bother.....

I'm not an angry person and I don't tend to dwell on things. But my Mars is retrograde, so if I am angry then it's usually at myself!!!

The retrograde could push the energy inward, I guess. Ami

Dear Vapor
I am just now learning who I am so I don't know how the Mars in Cancer or Venus in Gemini or most of my other aspects work--not really
I am just ,as of these last few months, finding out who I am under the "perfect mask" I thought I had to wear.
Astrology is a wonderful help in this as you know. Ami
