I am writing this because I am trying to see how people express anger.
I learned about Mars in Cancer and I express anger in a Cancer way(indirect and round about) which is not good but something I can work with.
My friend has Mars in Virgo and he expresses anger by picking at you like a bird lol.
I would love to hear any insights.
Thanks so much! Ami

You are so lucky Belgz. I hold it in and then get stomach aches. I stopped even feeling my emotions and my stomach feels them for me--not good at all.On the good side--I have no weight problem lol

Very easily, when I'm extremely annoyed. I usually try to be fair, and it can take a while for the anger to build - unless something catches me by surprise, and I blurt it out.

Mars in Pisces, square Moon/Venus/Nodes, trine Uranus/ascendant, inconjunct Pluto (I think), ruler of Aries Sun.

I also have stomach problems, and can't eat when anxious/upset or depressed... over the past couple of years, I've found that a spark of anger will bring my appetite back long enough for me to get a small amount of something substantial into me.

I only get angry when its I've been wounded emotionally..I'll either keep quiet about it and let it build up until the issue is brought out into the open and I blow up and go off, because my Cancer Mars lives in Gemini's house, I use my intellectuality against the offender and rip them to shreds by making them feel dumb. Or its the other way around, I blow up then sulk and dish out a cruel case of the silent treatment, cos i wanna see them crawl for forgiveness to see if they're actually, truly sorry...if I don't decide to cut them off right there and then.

Mars in Cancer can be cruel and manipulative a bit like a Scorpio Mars..we're just more subtle and childish about it but I'm trying really hard to change how i deal with and express angry emotions for my own health

My anger is usually over being wounded emotionally, too - or someone trying to mess with my head. I'm more likely to get angry defending others, than myself.

I also don't deliberately hold onto hurts - I tend to get over most things easily, and when the emotions bubble up again (if they do), I also wish I could just let them go. I used to just keep my mouth shut, until it subsided, but I can't seem to do that anymore - I'll just come out with it, and start an argument all over again. (Mars retrograde? It moved from my tenth house, trine my Aries planets, to square my ascendant/descendant, and sextile my Moon/Venus.)

Ooo I dunno. I'd have thought Moon sign had more to do with anger, since it is an emotion... maybe Mars relates more to whether you take action when you're angry? I'm not sure...

Anywho to comply with the thread, I'm Gemini Mars. Well, I just asked my friend. Apparently I rant quite a bit. If I've got a lot of pent up anger I'll hit things. I hit pillows but I've also hit walls (not clever). If I'm angry at a person I can't even stay near them I have to storm off somewhere and pace up and down talking to myself. Then hit things haha.

I'd say that's a pretty neat combination of my Gemini Mars and Aries Moon.

If i didn't believe in god and karma i'd express my anger by killing people. In fact i wish i could go round doing it. People that cut down palm trees and kill adult orangatangs and sell their youngsters as pets for example - just for palm oil. I wouldn't even think tiwce about killing people like that. It would be a job i would get up very early for, and go home late. In fact i'd torture them first. and i'd do it all for free. I'd also kill my dad and m,illions of other people - more than Hitler in fact.
BUT because i understand spiritually that it would be counter-productive to express anger that way - i bury it deep down inside so it makes me ill and comes out in different ways. That's life.
People say 2 wrongs don't make a right. But hey if it saved cute animals i'd see that as reason enough to do it.
Mars in Scorpio. I got more and more angry as i wrote that even.

Mars/Gemini (square Mercury/Aries)

I express anger with words
mostly through sarcasm,
but if I'm mad
(2 seconds before I get up)
you'll get blunt, brutal honesty, that will sting for awhile.

This was a hard aspect for me to get control of because if unchecked,
my Sag Ascendant tends to blurt anyway

Mars in gemini as well.....when I'm mad it's all about words!! I tend to say something I shouldn't but it sometimes feels too explosive to hold in!

This is a great thread!
Another friend has Mars in Libra. He decides first if his anger is "right". If it is, he lets it go.
That sounds right for Libra, doesn't it? I can see how Gemini Mars would use words as a weapon/vechicle for anger.
Ami

PS I wonder what Mars in Cap and Mars in Aqua are like?

Mars in Taurus.. I prefer to be alone when I get angry, as I don't like expressing it, specially in front of others. But it can build up and up 'till it explodes, although it never really exploded (Taurus is such a big recipient lol).
But well, with my Aries stellium (including Moon), I might show my anger a bit in some way (but not unleashing on others), yet I can get into good mood soon too.

I try to understand the situation. Virgo Mars --> analytical.

Sometimes I "understand" aloud. During that process I say and, less often, do vicious things. Most of the time I like to wait until I've analyzed the situation and why it angered me before I speak. That way I can use my passion constructively, with a deliberate purpose.

My Mars is tightly cnj Jupiter and trine Chiron, widely trine Venus. I want my anger to bring me someplace better.

I'm far more reactive in my close personal relationships. I express my anger spontaneously, but even then I always want to apply reason to it eventually.

Aries Mars - anger has to escape immediately and in a very direct way. Someone has to acknowledge the anger otherwise it doesn't dissipate.

If I try to hold it in, it whirls around inside me and makes me feel unstable. It HAS to come out.

Once it's out it's gone, and I can get over it quickly.

Similar to PDF, I fear that if someone provokes the anger in way that threatens something dear to me (eg my daughter) my reaction would be out of my control, and I would have no regard for the consequences.

i don't hit out of anger, lose my temper and throw things or raise my voice to show displeasure. i don't like raised voices, or childish displays of temper and am not fond of people that can not control themselves, nor would i tolerate it in my home.

however, if someone hit me, tried to take what belongs to me, or harm my children..i would fiercly fight to the point i may actually not have regard for thier life and i would accept the consequences of my actions.

both of those things being said, i am not the one you would really want to fck with, as i, instead of getting angry..react with cold detachment..like in a chess game, anticipate the next move (so easy to do) and most who take me on end up being the one looking stupid.. usually it becomes about winning for me, which is easier to accomplish with self control and preservation. people without self control are the easiest ones, no need to get angry with them, they do thierself in, you just have to watch it unfold really.

anger is really a waste of time and energy. although it can give an internal drive that ensures success if channelled wisely.

my mars is libra

I woke up feeling annoyed, restless, and just plain obnoxious this morning... it built until I felt anxious and sad, so I laid down to take a nap. It's taken the edge off, but now I don't know what to do.

I used to write it all out, when I had the chance, until I'd vented my own feelings over and over, and worked my way to the point of understanding why the other person would have said or done what ever it was that made me angry (if another person was involved). I don't seem to be that smart anymore - I just hit the keyboard, and vent directly to them, if I can (if I'm close to them).

quote:

I'm more reactive with people close to me (unfortunately for them). I also want to apply reason to it eventually.

Maybe this is where my Gemini Moon comes into it. I wasn't going to write here again, but am back for the third time... I'm writing about it, rather than expressing my anger to the person I'm upset with.

cpn - I've done myself in with my lack of self-control, several times. It's so embarrassing - especially since I often have more patience.

Mars in Cap here - trine Venus, conjunct Neptune, sextile Pluto.

All of the things PDF mentioned upset me. I wouldn't say they make me angry because the feeling is more like disappointment in the world and people and everything around me.

Instead of torture or murder, I think I'd prefer to ship them all off to an island somewhere - to erase their memory and start from scratch - and teach them a new set of values.

I believe that pretty much everyone is a product of something (whether it is their early environment or particular experiences they've had etc.) and thus only partially accountable for their behavior.

Pain and violence are in a never ending chain and they feed off each other and keep going.

If Pain was a person - I would torture it!

Otherwise - we're all a bunch of jerks and saints deep down.. and I can't bear judgment and name those who should be tortured and those who should not.

A few people mentioned being attacked..

I think the instinct for self-defense is present in most. It's definitely alive and thriving in me.

But my manner of defending myself is not very "loud".. Due to the Nept. connection - My Mars is a bit like quicksand or a Misty Forrest.. If you enter and you're an unwelcome guest, you'll be very surprised at the things you encounter.

Dear cpn Edgar
I had that conversation with my Libra Mars friend. He uttered almost the exact words!
I have seen him get angry and the FIRST thing he does is plan.He figures out how he will act and THEN executes it unlike the Aries Mars(or other strong Aries influences).
It does feel like someone in a chess game planning his moves.
It was surprising to me to see that in him and then hear people describe it---almost exactly. Ami

I'm not convinced my mars SIGN has anything to do with my anger , but I think my mars ASPECTS may have something to do with it.

I have Mars in Pisces..suggesting a more submissive, passive, pent-up anger..but that's not me. I blow up, I cuss, throw things, yell, cry, turn 10 shades of red, hit you...and then it's over with as quickly as it came on.

The "difficult" aspects involving my poor little Mars are..square Mercury, square Saturn, square Uranus (otherwise it also conjuncts Jupiter and trines Venus). I really think Uranus thrown in the mix has something to do with the chaos that unfolds when someone ****** me off.

LEO Mars here...squaring Venus.

Hmm...I get mad, but it's usually very contained & fleeting. I never go ballistic, or scream & yell...my Lion doesnt roar. My mom (Libra mars sq moon & uranus) had a terrible temper, & she was like this dramatic scream machine. I remember growing up thinking that was EMO, annoying, crude & ultimately tasteless lol. Maybe that's from the Venus squaring my Mars is receiving...so I dont ever want to be a screaming psycho. I'm usually very calm anyways & friends always ask me why I dont seem stressed out or PMS. I do get stressed, but it doesnt physically show. If someone royally p*sses me off, I would probably distant myself or even entirely cut them off without an explanation. This is my way of, "letting go." I dont think it's even worth it to waste time & energy explaining or blasting at them.
With people I cant cut out (ie. family, close friends). I've been told I take sharp verbal stabs lol. The fact I look relatively calm while doing so, makes people more mad apparently.

..When I get upset I like to go to Mc Donalds at 2 AM in the morning and get an M&M Mcflurry and watch comedies like "Juno".

Then when thats not enough, I cry, scream and think of vile things until I tire myself out..

..Or I just blow the hell up right then and there on rare occassions and feel guilty about it days later. *shrugs*

Mars in Virgo trines Saturn and is opposition to my Moon.

When I read my post..I have no idea what that as to do with my Mars placement..O.O

I tend to be sarcastic and say caustic things that might sting (though not outright hurtful things, just things that have like a double edge to it?)- Mars in virgo
However, generally I'm sarcastic without with caustic (probably bc I have moon, venus and merc in libra- thus softening those virgo traits hahaha)

bf's mars in pisces. And ^^^ they're right.
