[quote from Glam Gem-I don't find myself indecisive or fearful of too many things but I am emotional with venus in cancer as well and can always nail someone elses' feelings pretty quickly. I also get very attached to people quickly! ]I think Venus in Cancer would not be as hard as Mars in Cancer cuz it is in it's Fall. Venus feels like it would fit in Cancer and have a sweet, warm, homey type of feeling.I could see how you could bond quickly cuz Cancer is a sign of family and home. A Gemini Venus(mine)does not bond quickly at all. Mine is unaspected which does not help lol However, it seems like Venus in Cancer would be a nice placement. Do you feel that way? Ami IP: Logged |

"I think I may have A.D.D."Nothing wrong with that. same with me. ADD is referred nowas ADHD,inattentive type. I was diagnosed as that in 2004. any ways...it's just social construct label for novelty seekers half of ADHDers are said to have DRD4 7R gene which is connected to novelty seeking. However, it doesn't mean that novelty seekers with DRD4 7R have ADHD. There are too many things that can cause ADHD symptoms like heavy metal poisoning, nutrition deficiencies, hypoglycemia, fetal alcohol syndrome, fragile X,bipolar, high carbohydrate consumption, and all of these "ADHD" types all get looped together. there is a significant symptoms overlap of ADHD with other neurodivergent conditions like Dyslexia,Dyspraxia,Autistic Spectrum. Co-morbidity with them is very common like I have Dyslexia,Dyspraxia,ADHD. It's the norm for a neurodivergent to have more than 1 neurodivergent condition. That's one of the reasons why DANDA was formed in the UK. It originated from Dyspraxia Support Group. Most of the Dyspraxics there had other neurodivergent conditions. Many had Aspergers Syndrome, and wanted to find a support group for that neurodivergent condition. It's common for people with Dyslexia,Dyspraxia,Aspergers Syndrome to be misdiagnosed as having ADHD. Personally, I view all these labels as social construct labels that are not connected to fitting the neurological norms of mainstream society and a mismatch for auditory sequential teaching methods in schools. However, the other labels that are often given to them are "stupid","retard","dumb","airhead", "scatter-brain","ditzy","lazy","immature" and other things that imply a low intelligence, being abnormal, messed up in some way. So the former labels are more accepted by neurodivergent than the latter labels. As long as we have people who look down on others for not being like them coupled with widespread Psychiatry, there will always be people viewed as abnormal. It may not be that they are but that the norms get narrower and "disorders labels" increase.
If you're fine with how you think , there is nothing wrong with you. There is no need for any label of ADHD.
The strengths of ADHD are creativity, innovation, art, high energy, hyperfocusing, and overall thinking outside the box. Raymond

Raymond... spot on with the Neptune in the third house synopsis.... I'm not good at writing for long spells... get too distracted and I don't like talking but I used to love art, music... writing songs and lyrics, poetry... and I also find that I learn better when I HEAR things. I did a V.A.K.O.G. test in my hypnotherapy class and found that my highest score was for auditory but everyone was CONVINCED that I was a visual... even though the score said auditory... It annoyed me that they wouldn't LISTEN, they just saw what they wanted to see.I think we are similar communicators but you have a great depth for detail and the focus to communicate it, in written mode at least whereas I find I lose track all too easily and so tend to just read articles rather then books and write verses rather then paragraphs. But yes... in my mind "receptive, imaginative, visualizing type of mind. keyword - dissolution in the areas of the mind,communications."...... I feel like I take in the information like a sponge but can't find the language to communicate the understanding... the words get lost, diffused with other meanings. Thank you for your acknowledgement "extremely sensitive nervous system."..... ABSOLUTELY... ditto! IP: Logged |

Hello inquisitive Ami Ann;Merc in Scorp in the 7th here. I spend my time plotting revenge or planning world domination. KIDDING!! I spend the majority of my time thinking about the object of my affections, of course!! Quote Gypsee Wind You spoke of saving graces in one's chart, and I've always felt particularly fond of this placement. Sometimes Sag Suns can be too nice (despite what you hear about the foot in the mouth, and all that) and we can get walked on in life, so having this helps. I am able to say what I think about a person or situation quite specifically, and not leave them wondering, in no uncertain terms, what I mean.] This is powerful Gypsee---saving graces. That would be a good thread. Gemini - Sun Virgo - Ascendant ...and a whole bunch of other facts which makes Mercury my ruling planet... Mercury in Cancer 0 degrees, 10th house. I don't think Mercury is happy here, sometimes I think my connectors are too slow for me. Ideas, information, and things I know I should pick up don't come fast enough for my liking. Sometimes I hear things that was said to me a second or two after people say it. Of course there are benefits, intuition and what not, but to my Gemini Sun & Saggi placements those things hold me back, making me feel guilty for & when asserting my rights. I am highly Mercurial or woulda-shoulda been highly Mercurial but fear I'm not as incisive as the typical Gemini. Sometimes I envy those with Mercury in Gemini, oh the dignity. I feel as though I'm running a 100 meter dash against everyone, but instead of sharing a track I'm place in water...not fair. IP: Logged |

The V.A.K.O.G. test I was referring to REPRESENTATIONAL SYSTEM PREFERENCE TEST For each of the following statements, please place a number next to every phrase. Use the following system to indicate your preferences: 4 = Closest to describing you 3 = Next best description 2 = Next best 1 = Least descriptive of you 1. I mostly make decisions about money based on: ____the right gut level feelings ____which is the best, sound solution and resonates for you ____what looks best to me after clearly seeing the images in question ____precise review and study of the situation 2. During an argument, I am most likely to be influenced by: ____the loudness or softness of the other person's tone of voice ____whether or not I can see the other person's point of view ____the logic of the other person's argument ____whether or not I am in touch with mine and the other person's feelings 3. I mostly like to be aware of the following in conversation: ____the way people hold themselves and interesting facial expressions ____the feelings that we share ____the words I and they choose and whether it all makes good sense ____the sounds and intonations that come from the tone of voice 4. If I had the choice of these in order, first I would like to: ____find the ideal volume and tuning on a stereo system ____select the most intellectually relevant point in an interesting subject ____select the most comfortable furniture ____look around and take in the décor, pictures and how the room looks before doing anything else 5. Which describes your room that you live in: ____The hi-fi is very prominent and you have an excellent CD/MP3 collection ____It’s a practical layout and things are situated in an excellent location ____The feel of the place is the most important to you ____The colours you choose and the way a room looks are most important REP SYSTEM TEST Step One: Copy your answers from the previous page to here: 1. ____K 2.___A 3. ____V ____A ____V ____K ____V __Ai ____Ai ____Ai ____K ____A 4.____A 5.____A ____Ai ____Ai ____K ____K ____V ____V Step two: Aid the numbers associated with each letter. There are 5 entries for each letter: V A K Ai 1 -- -- -- -- 2 -- -- -- -- 3 -- -- -- -- 4 -- -- -- -- 5 -- -- -- -- Totals: Step three: The comparison of the total scores in each column will give the relative preference for each of the 4 major Representational Systems. This test is a very simple and generalized indication and by no means definitive. Here’s another way of finding out your preferences: If I was to give you the latest, state of the art DVD player with new features on it and it was your responsibility to make it work, would you: A) Grab the manual and read it avidly B) Take the articles out of the box and get to grips with it as you go C) Talk to someone else about setting it up? So if you answered A, then that’s your visual preference, B would be the tactile or kinaesthetic approach and C the auditory way. Again, these are not cast in stone, as they may change in differing contexts. To aid you in recognizing differing internal word processing, here are words (often known as predicates in the NLP world) that you’ll find people using when externalizing their internal world. VISUAL AUDITORY KINAESTHETIC Auditory Internal V: Visual People who are visual often stand or sit with their heads and/or bodies erect, with their eyes up. They will be breathing from the top of their lungs. They often sit forward in their chair and tend to be organized, neat, well-groomed and orderly. They memorize by seeing pictures, and are less distracted by noise. They often have trouble remembering verbal instructions because their minds tend to wander. A visual person will be interested in how your program LOOKS. Appearances are important to them. They are often thin and wiry. A: Auditory People who are auditory will move their eyes sideways (remember Richard Nixon?). They breathe from the middle of their chest. They typically talk to themselves, and are easily distracted by noise, (some even move their lips when they talk to themselves.) They can repeat things back to you easily, they learn by listening, and usually like music and talking on the phone. They memorize by steps, procedures, and sequences (sequentially). The auditory person likes to be TOLD how they’re doing, and responds to a certain tone of voice or set of words. They will be interested in what you have to SAY about your program. K: Kinaesthetic People who are kinaesthetic will typically be breathing from the bottom of their lungs, so you’ll see their stomach go in and out when they breathe. They often move and talk verrry slooowly. They respond to physical rewards, and touching. They also stand closer to people than a visual person. They memorize by doing or walking through something. They will be interested in your program if it FEELS RIGHT. Ai: Auditory Internal (self talk) This person will spend a fair amount of time talking to themselves. They will want to know if your program MAKES SENSE, is it logical, follows a structure etc. The auditory internal person can exhibit characteristics of the other major representational systems. Another Sag (multiple: Sun, Asc, Mars & Jupiter) here, Mercury Scorpio in 12th...my mind jumps ahead to grasp an answer immediately...if someone were to ask how I came to my conclusion, most of the time I couldn't explain it. However, the answer is usually information I've picked up in bits along the way about someone or something (typical Scorp), stored it all then pulled it all out when needed. Intense focus for sure, but I tend to be really hard on myself (Sun square Pluto) and private.I also just know things about people, instant insight, whether I can trust them or not. Two people I work with both have Mercury conjunct mine...one exact at 23 degrees the other 24deg. It's fun, we're all very to the point in a passionate way with everything. One person whose Merc is exactly conjunct mine at 23 degrees is a Scorpio Sun - we have a lot of fun conversations that are lively with a creative energy that I wouldn't trade for anything. I did a V.A.K.O.G. test in my hypnotherapy class and found that my highest score was for auditory but everyone was CONVINCED that I was a visual... even though the score said auditory... It annoyed me that they wouldn't LISTEN, they just saw what they wanted to see."Very interesting. You seem intellectually gifted. Auditory sequential methods are the main teaching methods, and you have rightbrained strengths too. I grew up writing poetry, short stories. I am a visual spatial learner, and so I have difficulty with auditory sequential teaching methods. UPSIDE DOWN BRILLIANCE by Linda Silverman is a good book that is about visual spatial learner. My short term memory for visual and auditory things are poor. I had auditory reversals that were corrected with auditory therapy. Therefore,I had severe auditory processing issues. I think of my auditory input speech lags (a significant time delay between listening and understand what is being said) as residual effect of that. "I think we are similar communicators but you have a great depth for detail and the focus to communicate it, in written mode at least whereas I find I lose track all too easily and so tend to just read articles rather then books and write verses rather then paragraphs." Thanks. I owe my great depth for detail and the forcus to communicate it to the early intervention special education therapies of auditory therapy, speech therapy, and phonics. Those things helped me develop the ability to communicate in words. Before that ,I only thought in pictures. I didn't grasp the concept of words. I was similar to autistics in that way. I also think it's a combination of compensatory communication mechanisms to minimize mistakes in the form of rehearsing things before I do it, hyperfocusing and being obsessive in what I am interested. If I am interested in making myself clear to people, I hyperfocus and get obsessive about it. A lot of times when I do that, I can get singleminded, too stubborn, too emotional thinking. It's like problems with regulating my emotions. I am the same same way if I am interested in learning, reading, listening to something that I like. I lost count how many types I angered my mom off because I snapped at her because my concentration was broken from something whether it was reading, watching television,or writing. That deep immersion from hyperfocusing and being obsessive helps me learn things that I am interested in even if takes some time. I tend to have problems with organization and paying attention to detail. I tend to be sloppy, misplace, lose things, and absentminded. Messy desk, messy backpack - that was me. My room would look neat, but things would be stuff in drawers and closets without being folded. Those things got me in trouble with my parents and school. Navy boot camp was a nightmare. Navy was the worst place for me. "But yes... in my mind "receptive, imaginative, visualizing type of mind. keyword - dissolution in the areas of the mind,communications."...... I feel like I take in the information like a sponge but can't find the language to communicate the understanding... the words get lost, diffused with other meanings." I wish that I could take information like a sponge. I just get word information overload when reading and listening. Those things coupled with poor short term memory makes me seem slow at getting things at first. It's not about slowness. It's that too much information comes into my eyes and ears too fast for my brain to process leading to confusion, disorientation, and stress. I have problems with organizing and encoding the information. I have problems with strings of words. That's what a psychologist told me after I did neuro-psyche testing with her. She also told me that I am slow at learning something at first, but when I do learn it,I REALLY learn it. That's because I have a bad short term memory and a good long term memory. It is also a problem with processing sequential information that interferes with my ability to listen, read, and to copy the multiple motor movement actions of others. If I am not interested in something, it's a lot worse. "Thank you for your acknowledgement" You're welcome "extremely sensitive nervous system."..... ABSOLUTELY... ditto! Raymond

" I think of my auditory input speech lags (a significant time delay between listening and understand what is being said) as residual effect of that."This process for me slows down also but I HEAR myself talk through it... It's like an echo... That's probably why I did well at school... Even though it also took time for me to process the information it was as if I had my teacher's voice on record.... although that was more in early school... I dropped out of school when I was 14 because EMOTIONALLY i was overloaded...nearly opposite to what you experienced I think. " tend to have problems with organization and paying attention to detail. I tend to be sloppy, misplace, lose things, and absentminded. Messy desk, messy backpack - that was me" Same for me! I clean my house but my bedroom is always chaos! And I mean Chaos! At one point there was worry for my mental health because of it... but it's organised chaos in my mind... same when I study/work. "I lost count how many types I angered my mom off because I snapped at her because my concentration was broken from something whether it was reading, watching television,or writing. That deep immersion from hyperfocusing and being obsessive helps me learn things that I am interested in even if takes some time."..... Yes I have also done that.... Mercury in Scorpio alright! My Mercury aspects are a wide orb conjunction (5)to Uranus sextile Venus semi square Saturn Trine MC... Now they are basic aspects... I don't even know where to begin with Heliocentric nodes and Geocentric nodes and their connections Is your Mercury in 18 Scorpio? That's the exact position mine is in. IP: Logged |

Its interesting to see the effects that Cancer planets may have on a Gemini sun vs. the effects that gemini/mercurial placements have on a Cancer Sun. You guys (geminis) feel slowed down while I feel like the Hare next to the Tortoise (this is all mentally speaking). On the mercury in Cancer: it definitely isn't the most rational placement to have which is why when Im arguing/debating I find myself (ironically) trying to come from my Virgo Moon. IP: Logged |

Mercury in 1st here, Sagittarius. Conjunct rising on one side, conjunct Uranus on the other. (Well, Uranus is conjunct rising too, with about a 9° orb... )3rd house in Aquarius, thought I'd mention that because I'm under the impression that a 3rd house tells you more about how you think than mercury does. Or perhaps even what you think... or express. As shown in this ironically funny quote from a psychologist I frequented after a nervous breakdown, on the subject of why the hell people thought I was mysterious when I am as open as a person can be about their private lives (which he agreed on): "I don't think you should see it as mysterious. People just don't understand you when you express yourself. You express yourself quite... abstractly." A more elaborate description of my manner of interacting followed, ending with me snickering because of the uncanny similarity between his elaboration of my conversational habits and my mercury-uranus-3rd house interactions.
If that isn't typical Aquarius, I don't know. ------------------ Official Conor's Feeding Machine! IP: Logged |

Independant and intelligent people appeal to me and i encourage that in everyone. My mind is very active and i dont think really think with my emotions. I believe everyones freedom is very important, free to love whoever, free to do whatever.. I like to have conversations with people who have travelled and have seen different things. I love people who are unique and have something to teach me about life. Last but not least is laughing, laughing is the most important thing regardless of whatever makes us laugh. I read and write alot and i believe in good energy. I paint and play the piano as my hobbies and ive held a diary since i was 14 with my greatest ups and downs which are a special part of my life. I am also very impatient and bored easily. I cant hang out with the same person more than twice a week. I love travelling and i take 3-4 holidays every year to learn and experience life and new people. All together im a very happy person. Mercury is also my chart ruler. My mom has a strong Cancer chart Jupiter conjunct Ascendant in Cancer Mercury-Venus-Uranus conjunction in Cancer South Lunar Node in Cancer.
She loves to cook, and is a great cook. She is into the home. She was a cleaning fanatic. I told people in the navy that if my mother did inspections, nobody would pass! hahahahaha yeah..she was a bit of a smothering mother. She has Moon in Scorpio too. but I also think having a special needs tends to make parents overprotective, smothering, worrying over his/her child's well-being. She was very controlling too. also her Pluto parallels all those Cancer placements, and so adds intensity and more sensitivity to those Cancer placements. Pluto's sensitivity tends to be overlooked imho even though it's a transneptunian. my maternal grandfather had Sun and Pluto in Cancer (not conjunct), and he was a great cook. I thought he was the best cook in the family with my mom a close second.
shrugs
I don't think zodiac sign placements alone really mean much. I think that aspects tell more of the story. Also Sidereal Zodiac Astrologers will argue that it's actually placed in another sign. Their argument doesn't work well with my Sun. I have a tropical Scorpio Sun, but my Sun is in constellation of Virgo even though it's in Libra in Sidereal zodiac. Venus in Cancer might just indicate an emotional,feeling-oriented way of relating, loving that includes the possibility of tenacity, nurturing with the tendency to possibly take things personally when hurt.
That's how it works for my mother. She has Moon trine Venus too. She can also show a great intensity with Venus parallel Pluto and detachment with Venus conjunct/parallel Uranus. Raymond

You are often quite sharp, and prefer to serve the truth in an unvarnished fashion. Often show considerable irritation when criticised or corrected. You are good at inspiring others, but not so good at listening sympathetically for long periods of time. Not the greatest sign for Mercury lol But I think Mercury in 10th is pretty good (Sorry Ami Ann for going off topic here) Hi Raymond Thank you for your post on A.D.H.D. I hope my thinking I may have A.D.D. didn't come across as just some casual remark, an excuse or 'novelty seeking'. I did have a near death experience as a toddler when I ate something with arsenic on it (it had been used as pesticide). I'm still to be tested for A.D.D. but on other doctor visits when I've mentioned the arsenic incident her reaction is like it has no significance or importance whatsoever. So maybe I have nothing. But if I do have something and I can change it, or at least find a way to better deal with it, I'll welcome a label. If anyone has a problem with me because of it, well, that's their problem. I have my own.

"Hi Raymond"Hi evanski "Thank you for your post on A.D.H.D." You're welcome. "I hope my thinking I may have A.D.D. didn't come across as just some casual remark, an excuse or 'novelty seeking'."
no...not at all also novelty seeking is not a bad thing. it's connected to giftedness and creativity "I did have a near death experience as a toddler when I ate something with arsenic on it (it had been used as pesticide). I'm still to be tested for A.D.D. but on other doctor visits when I've mentioned the arsenic incident her reaction is like it has no significance or importance whatsoever." I am very sorry about what happened to you,and I am glad that you're ok! "So maybe I have nothing. But if I do have something and I can change it, or at least find a way to better deal with it, I'll welcome a label. If anyone has a problem with me because of it, well, that's their problem. I have my own." I was just trying to make a point that ADHD isn't necessary a bad thing. It really depends on the source of the ADHD for there are many things that can cause ADHD symptoms.
It also tends to be label for the novelty-seeking type, and so 50 percent of ADHDers happened to have the novelty seeking gene, DRD4 7R allele http://www.popsci.com/scitech/article/2002-06/your-caveman-gramps-had-ants-his-pants Here is stuff on Edison Gene: ADHD: Gifted & Creative ..DRD4 7R gene stuff http://www.thomhartmann.com/2003/01/01/edison-gene-adhd-gifted-creative/ Thom Hartmann’s Hunter and Farmer Approach to ADD/ADHD Thom Hartmann's approach showing the differences between "Hunters" and "Farmers".
Taken from Thom Hartmann's book, "ADD: A Different Perception." http://www.thomhartmann.com/2007/11/01/thom-hartmanns-hunter-and-farmer-approach-t o-addadhd/ If you want, I could check out your chart. I am interested in Astrological Neuropsychology.
I wouldn't count Mercury square Mars with 9 degrees. I wouldn't count Mercury square Mars of over 8 degree orb. It seems that you have a Mercury triundecile Mars..an 11th harmonic aspect I have the same aspect, and it is part of 11th harmonic aspect patterns in my chart with 2 of them having corresponding midpoint picture. Mercury in Aquarius -7th house -sextile Uranus in Sagittarius -square Jupiter in ScorpioHmmmmmmmm! I identify with the double airy orientation of my Mercury, I like double entendres and playing around with words. The only thing I don't like about Mercury Aqua is when I realize too late that the people I'm speaking with aren't at the same rate as I am, so I'll have to slow down my mental processing to align with them, otherwise I'll completely lose their attention. I really get the 7th house bit as I spend 10 million hrs each day trying to get into someone else's brain. A good description I read of Mercury in the 7th referred to analyzing people all the live long day and so they tend to group people into types and will know the best way to relate to each. It's supposedly a good placement for a mediator. With its connection to Jupiter/Sagittarius, I like looking at trends in the world and have a hobby with forecasting how big events will turn out, for example the U.S. presidential elections, I always knew months and months in advance who would win, and they were never the people I voted for! That was the worst, knowing how people across the nation are reacting to every move a candidate is making and thinking "man my guy is never gonna win!" - it lets me tune into the thinking of the group very easily, maybe this is more the Aquarius/Uranus side more than Jupiter/Sagittarius? Either way I find it incredibly easy to read trends in groups/societies/individuals, etc. and I love to study them. Regarding the Jupiter in Scorpio bit, I love to watch the business news/new stocks and predict which ones are gonna make it big. Netflix was one I remember years ago when it was a little baby company and I thought, "they're gonna make it big" when the idea technically at the time sounded kinda funny. I don't invest any money yet but I love to follow stocks and my nose stays in the business section of the newspaper for sure. IP: Logged | |
