I have the same placement...Pluto (as mercury ruler), being in the first house should act somewhat like Mercury in scorpio in the first.... First impressions; are of an intense thinker who has personal power in their thoughts and others perceive this and prefer not to challenge it I got that impression of you from the beginning. Don't need to met you in person to know how intensely emotional your thoughts are! It's so interesting how tone and feeling can come through in text. How about this!!!! I have merc in cap in the 9th. It is trine saturn in the 12/1st and square uranus 6th, square pluto (widely) in 5th. I am your typical cap merc. I like to think things out, plan ahead, am skeptical, favor logic, but my square to uranus lets me think outside the box too. It also sometimes makes me impulsive. IP: Logged |

I have Mercury in taurus in 10th trine Saturn. Before I do something I think a lot about it, but once that I made up my mind I will no change. I do not care what people think or tell me. But I do talk, read and walk very fast, my guess is 6 planets in fire. IP: Logged |

That makes me see how the separate parts of the chart work so differently. It is like we have slices of ourselves and they are all different. Ami

[Quote from Eskimo Mercury in Scorpio in 3rd, conjunct Sun, opposition Moon. Plus, Virgo Asc - so Mercury is my chart ruler?I am getting a bit better at this! I think quickly and with great focus. I can get to the root of a problem with ease, and come up with a variety of solutions (lucky really, as that's my job). I used to think that the reason people couldn't keep up with me was down to laziness or lack of intellect, but have recently realised that I have a real gift. I am working on trying to slow down, to take people with me, but I do find it frustrating. I am not an intellectual. I don't seek out knowledge unless I can use it, and then generally discard it once it's served it's purpose. What is bizarre is that despite using logic to get to conclusions, I then tend to rely on 'feeling' senses to make decisions, regardless of whether this goes against the logic?] Are you a male or female, Eskimo? Your description of Mercury in Scorpio really fits how Scorpio would be in the realm of the mind. You would get info and info but after it was all put together--go on insight and feeling. I really like that description. My Cancer moon is like that. Ami IP: Logged |

[ from Ariescancer Raymond, I guess I don't have any idea why I always do things fast, maybe because I have 9 planets in Ying sigs?] What signs are your planets in--mostly fire? Is Yin just feminine. I was thinking about that last night. I would think Yang would be the fast moving one-- the masculine. What do you think? Ami IP: Logged |

Aries Mercury conjunct Venus and Moon in the 8th house, trine Sagittarius Uranus. Scorpio Saturn and Pluto in the 3rd house. My thoughts are in tune with my feelings, and I can think creatively. X3 But I'm also a slow and careful/structured thinker, thinking before acting. And I often dwell in deep and complex thoughts too (Mercury in the 8th house + Pluto in the 3rd house I guess). copy--> past--> (from the in my case 'most exact aspect natally' related thread)Saturn square Mercury 0'08 Saturn square Ascendant 0'10 Ascendant conjunct Mercury 0'18 Mercury (4'32 Virgo) is also my chart-ruler. Since It's my nature to talk, walk and move also very fast but.. restricted by joint pain and Saturn ...(imagine the cross) Read fast? Well, if I'm truly interested in what I read: NO, never. Then I absorb every word every thought every possible thought every possible interpretation, consume them.. Especially in the past, details overmastered my life/thoughts, for better or worse (most worse). I got totally stuck in them without seeing the big picture (kind of eye-opener), without having a vision. For example: Imagine asked questions on test/exam papers while seeing in one question 2 or 3 possible interpretations... so, what's the answer?? - hm.. angriness by those stupid made-up questions at first. Mercury in Scorpio in the 1st houseI get absorbed in my thoughts. I'm 100% there and oblivious to everything else going on around me. The people I know are amused by this. When I'm focused they say crazy things to me to test if I can hear them. I've sometimes "come to" when they're in the midst of this. Some people who don't yet know about my attention surplus disorder have thought I was deliberately ignoring them. In school I was once so immersed in a book that I didn't even hear the fire drill. I really love to listen. Mercury's dispositor in the 12th house; rules 8th house; cnj 4th house ruler; parallel IC The parallel is exact, to the minute. Along with Merc being placed in Sco, all these connections with the water houses show how I focus from the inside out. IP: Logged |

Mercury cnj Uranus and sextile Saturn, square MoonLast year my brother lived with me and my SO for a few months. We're very close, but that was the first time in a long time that we were together so often. We'd been joking and laughing for a while, when I made a philosophical comment about the topic we were laughing at. He called me "moody" for jumping from creative silliness to analytical seriousness. My brother has those sides and many more, but apparently not at the same time. Thanks to Uranus, I constantly have multiple perspectives playing in my head. Saturn comes along and tells me which part of my thinking-outline to focus on. It helps put it into time, make it linear. The parts Saturn choose get brighter and louder, but I'm aware of the other parts being ignored. Sometimes the parts being ignored contradict the part being explored and expressed. I know this can make me confusing to others when they meet that other perspective that had been there all along. Saturn doesn't just focus my thoughts, but also focuses who I am. When I meet people, I get a sense for which style of thinking I can share with them. That's the part of my thoughts-outline I highlight when I'm with them. My Venus is in Cap in my 3rd house, which illustrates the way Saturn chisels which style of thought I express socially. Jumping around comes naturally to me. So when others - like my brother - see one perspective at a time, I can start to feel stifled when waiting for the moment when I can finally express that other perspective, if I even ever can. I really love talking with my SO because our minds work similarly. Natally our Mercury's aspect the same planets. He was there when my brother commented how my mind jumps. You'd think he'd say, "Yes, and I love that about her" or something SMART like that, but noooo. He said, "I'm used to it." I'm used to it?! Hmph. What a tw@t. We both know he does the same thing and would be bored with anything less, so I let it slide. (edit: Actually, that's a good example of what I'm talking about. From a humor pov, we saw the potential in that moment to tease; from an emotional pov, our body language showed our real affection towards that bond.) IP: Logged |

Ami Ann, I think Yin signs are masculine they are the fire and air signs, water & earth and the Yang signs, I don't have any water planets and I only have one in earth Mercury in Taurus. I have Sun, Venus & Mars in Aries and a Sag Moon and I put my foot in my mouth quite often. IP: Logged |

I'm pretty certain you have them reversed. Yin is the feminine energy, and Yang is the masculine.IP: Logged |

Yes, I think Yin is the feminine too. So, each sign is either Masculine or Feminine--right? So Aries is Masculine, Taurus feminine and so on. This does make sense about either a cool energy or a warmer one. I would be interested in anyone's perspective on this. Thanks! AmiIP: Logged |

Yes, exactly. They alternate through the zodiac. All the Air and Fire signs are masculine. All the Earth and Water signs are feminine. I think it's very useful information when considering astrology.IP: Logged |

mercury scorpio in the 12th, conjunct pluto, square mars, sextile neptune, trine jupiterBlueTopaz124: "Mercury Scorpio in 12th...my mind jumps ahead to grasp an answer immediately...if someone were to ask how I came to my conclusion, most of the time I couldn't explain it. However, the answer is usually information I've picked up in bits along the way about someone or something (typical Scorp), stored it all then pulled it all out when needed." this is very spot on! i find a 12th house mercury always retains information from their surroundings unconsciously. I often think about this and I think 12th house mercury is a mind like an ocean. whatever information we come across, we absorb, or the mind washes over it and it becomes a part of the reservoir. the information does not just float on top of the water that we can retrieve easily, but instead, everything sinks down to the bottom. Sometimes it is extremely hard to find a certain piece of information from the bottom of the ocean but it becomes a part of me/my mind. I think that's what makes us intuitive. Every piece of information (no matter how small or insignificant) becomes a part of us and we are privy to it. the mercury-pluto conjunct intensifies everything by 10000000%. This is the tightest aspect in my chart. I find that words carry a lot of weight and am sometimes afraid to say things because of it. I would love to be able to articulate things better. But maybe it is best that I don't lol. My mind is definitely in the gutter most of the time LOL. I have an amazing ability to sense sexual advances and understand sexual innuendos lol, i enjoy them alot too, good laughs everytime hahaha i think the mercury-mars square makes me think and say things with much urgency. Partly because I am afraid I'll lose the thought if i don't say it out immediately (it'll sink to the bottom of the ocean!) So i tend to blurt out things without thinking them through completely in fear of loosing them to the neptunian realm of intangible illusions lol. I am able to express myself much clearer in writing for this reason :P

Ami - I am a laydeeee!Jane (Mercury Scorpio) - I know exactly what you are talking about. I jump from jokey/humourous to serious/logic quickly, which seems to throw some people - they assume you are annoyed with the humour. So they switch to serious, and then when you have made your point, you switch back to humour. I can see that that would take 'new' people some time to get used to! I had never considered it before. Where are you from Jane? I thought tw*t was an exclusively English word!

I believe AG & Ami are saying the opposite of this. I always thought Yin was the masculine energy, not the feminine as AG & Ami have stated. IP: Logged |
