Hey DD,
I am confused, I thought the 5th house was more abt family(i understand sex is a part when you are a couple and a family) and that the 8th house was predominantly abt sex. My bad, I am probably not clear about the basics.
Also, can you please expand more on the subject of themes with regrads to my post. You said there was a theme in the house ruler aspects, what is the trend you see there?
Thanks.

Raijn,

really, you can`t see the theme in these quoted aspects?
Have a look again, see what is COMMON to all or most of these aspects, and it will become so clear to you.
If not I will answer your question,b ut first have another look yourself.

8th house is about merging, deeply passionate, transforming sex, that can leave people utterly changed. A deep bond that is being forged through sex.

5th house is about the expression of your Self. Your erotic or sexual style is a big factor in this (even though not the only one).
It`s just a different kind of sex you have here, more playful, maybe also more ego centred, but can be very enjoyable nevertheless, just it probably doesn`t go just as deep as 8th house. Or well, maybe it goes deep,b ut it doesn`t bring this "emotional commitment" with it.
You could say the 5th house rules the one night stand or sex as a form of selfexpression, while 8th house is sex in a committed relationship.

Hey DD,
ASpects from me to him mostly center around the 1st, 5th and 8th houses. It probably means that the physical side of the relationship would be dominant for me and would change my perspective about the relationship.
Fom his chart to mine the aspects are more scattered. There are a few 4th,2nd house aspects and he has a lot of NN aspects with either AC/DC or major planets.
Does this mean that for him this relationship is something transient and he learns what he has to from me and moves on?
He is not as emotionally involved as I am and breaking it off is easy for him.

The irony is that he would not encourage any intimacy- emotional or physical. any time it felt that I would get close to trying to understand him he would start backing off.
That is why is am not able to see the theme in the chart rulers- they don't match the real life scenario.

Hey fiona,
I am no expert abt the house ruler aspects, just wanted to see how the theories match to the astrology.
You say you have no aspects between the 1st and 8th ruler with your SO. In real life does this translate to a long distance relationship? The 1st house signifies self, the 8th is about transformation, sex and other people's money. For a synastry chart I think sex is the only part that would apply? Hence I wondered if you are both away from each other and thus no sex..

My 8th house ruler - saturn - squares his jupiter (ruler of 3rd)... i'm not sure what it means.

His eighth house ruler - venus - forms no direct aspects to any personal planets of mine, BUT, it is parallel to my AC (8 degrees - too wide to be counted as conjunction). His venus is in cancer (water singleton in his chart and in the 9th house) and my AC is in cancer.

We do not have a long relationship. We are of different nationalities though. Our sex life is good. He's also the first and only guy ever to give me butterflies in the stomach. Out of all my exes, I am the most attracted to him.

Rajn,

in what way donīt the houseruler aspects match real life?

You said yourself that he will NOT encourage any emotional intimacy, and there really is only little aspects with his 4th house ruler.

The theme that seems to be there, is an 8th house one, from your side.
8th house is a tricky one, as it goes so deep. Either you suppress it alltogether (and then you will not feel a thing, but a hard to describe anger towards the other person), or you allow yourself to feel it, and this could denote very passionate feelings for the other person, bordering on obsessions. But it depends how the natal 8th houses are constellated, of course.

His 1st and 5th house ruler conjunct your 8th house ruler could denote a strong attraction. But again, 8th house is the partnership oriented one, while 1st and 5th house are both in the SELF-side of the horoscope. So it is again his Self(expression) that triggers your 8th house attraction/ repulsion.scenario.
Of course, depending on how he deals with these things himself, he could be flattered (or scared) by the intensity of your emotions. Sometimes this means that he will get attracted to you, BECAUSE of your emotions for him. But it doesn`t always work that way.

His 2nd house ruler squares your 8th house ruler - again it is your relationhip quadrant (7th and 8th house mainly) that are being triggered by his Self (in this case 2nd house).

His 4th house does not have strong connections to your chart.
except for that inconjunct to your 8th house - again. And this aspect denotes a certain disbalance, he may feel unsettled by your intensity. Maybe it is just too much for him, even though he could be fascinated by the depth at the same time.

His 5th house ruler squaring your 1st house ruler is the one connection that *could* explain some attraction from him to you. But since it is a squrae, there might be something "off" about it. Maybe he thinks you are not completely his type. Maybe he feels that his sexual expression may not harmonize with you in a very basic physical way.
Of course a square could also mean there will be sparks flying. But not all sparks lead into erotic bliss.
Maybe he would like a more joy-oriented erotic exchange, even with some friction in it, but feels like your emotional demands of him (your 8th house dominance) is just too much to handle for him?

If I may be blunt; it looks like there is the potential of you becoming obsessed with him, but he cannot return these feelings with the same strength.

But you would have to see how the natals fit in here. If he has strong Venus-Pluto or Mars-Pluto, it might be what he needs, if not, it might even sharpen the contrast between the two of you.

Fiona,

"Butterflies" are more a thing of the 5th house.

Both of you have strong Mars-Saturn constellations natally (I think in your case it was Mars in 10 and in his case the ruler of 1st house was close to 10th house cusp).

And if you look at the synastry this pops up again:

Your 1st ruler opposing his 10th ruler: Mars-saturn
Your ASC conjunct his MC: Mars-Saturn

That is very apt, and often happens in mutual relationships.
For others this might be not so apt, and they migh even find Mars-Saturn boring, but you have it both in the natals, it`s part of your "natal package", so you are in tune with that energy, and even need it in a relationship. So it is very fitting that it turns up in the synastry.

1st house ruler squaring 7th house ruler means that sparks are flying. STrong attraction, even with a bit of friction (Maybe there your butterflies came from?)
Since it is his 7th house ruler, he might be especially receptive to your physical Self,b ut maybe almost in uncomfortable ways. Almost like it gets too hot to handle.

It is like having a Venus-Mars square.

I love it when you do the analysis. You cut to the heart of the matter and come right out with the " AHA" point.
Thanks.

DD, what would you say about the lack of aspects between his chart ruler - venus - and my planets? The only aspects we have are:

His venus parallel my AC
His venus sextile my chiron
His venus widely trine my moon

Rajin,

thanks for the nice words.
But am not up for an analysis right now.

Fiona,

hmm, not sure. It depends on some of the other houserulers, too, especially of the other angles. Are they unaspected, too?

No worries, I had posted the chart because I got tunnel vision and could not see aspects in another perspective.I value your opinion a lot and wanted to see ur side of the story.

Rajin,

I know what you mean about tunnel vision.
If some thought pops up, I am going to share it with you. Just for now, I have so many other things on my mind, and a certain someone is occupying much more brain-space than he ought to.

Rajin,

could you give me the orbs of following aspects:

natal:
your Saturn opposite your Neptune
your Saturn opposite your Sun

his SN conjunct his Pluto
his Chiron opposite his Mercury
his Chiron opposite his Uranus

synastry:
Your Jupiter conjunct his DESC
your Saturn conjunct his ASC
your ASC conjunct his NN
your IC conjunct his Moon
your DESC conjunct his Pluto
your Pluto conjunct his Mercury
your Pluto conjunct his Uransu
your Uranus conjunct his Jupiter
your Sun conjunct his Neptune

your Mars opposite his Venus
your Pluto oposite his Chiron
your Chiron opposite his Sun
your Saturn opposite his Neptune

---------------------------------
a little bit of explanation:

Like you I developed a tunnel vision of your synastry chart; it can easily happen with all that number crunching.
So I went back to step no 1 and looked at the picture of the chart.

The "hot spots" of achart are the most interesting ones.
Imo these are conjunctions and oppositions.

Conjunctions indicating an immediate merging of the two energies coming together, so that it`s īdifficult to separate them. Sometimes it even happens on a more subconscious level. Just think of New Moon (Sun-Moon-conjunction). You can`t really SEE what is happening there, it happens "below the surface or in the dark".

The opposition is of course an aspect of tension, because two energies (planets) are on opposite ends of a spectre; but it also is an aspect of CONSCIOUSNESS; as you can clearly see the other person (The moon is never more visible and dominant than on Full Moon nights - the Sun-Moon-opposition).
Two equal energies on both sides of the spectre, will create an instant energy-field between them; sometimes it turns into combative situation, sometimes it is a kind of attraction / magnetism (usually if it is Yin and Yang, it is magnetic attraction - just like you learned in physic lessons at school. Minuspole and Pluspole are magnetized to each other, while the same is not true for Minus and Minus or Plus and Plus).
But however it is, you will become confronted with this energy, you can`t easily ignore it.

Hey DD,
thanks a ton for looking at the charts. It is like when you smell too many perfumes at the Chanel store and need coffee beans to clarify your senses. I have looked at the chart so many times that I need you to clarify my vision.

The orbs are as follows

Natal-
Sat opp Nep- 0 deg 39
Sat opp sun- 3 deg 56

his SN conj his pluto-4 deg 31
his Chiron opp his Merc-1 deg 45
his chiron opp his uranus-0 deg 20

Synastry
My Jup conj his Des-3 deg 43
My Sat conj his Asc-6 deg 23
My Asc conj his NN- 3 deg 38
My IC conj his moon- 4 deg 21
my Desc conj his pluto- 0 deg 53
my pluto conj his merc-1 deg 08
my pluto conj his uranus- 3 deg 11
My urnaus conj his jupiter-1 deg 47
my sun cojn his neptune-2 deg 38

My mars opp his venus- 2 deg 49
My pluto opp his chiron- 2 deg 51
my chiron opp his sun- 0 deg 28
my sat opp his neptune- 6 deg 34

Some of teh conj and opp aspects in our charts are really close and like you say the energy field is difficult to separate. I keep wondering if we keep meeting when teh time is not right and if there will ever be a right time.
He occupies my brain space a lot but not in the way as you have with ur SO.

BTW I haven`t forgotten about your chart. But it is just that I am kinda present at so many different spots, it`s hard to focus this way.

Rajin,

you trigger some vulnerable spots / aspects in each other.

You are having your Sun opposing Saturn and Neptune, and he puts his Neptune on your Sun.
You might be completely "mystified" by him and feel a magical romantic attraction. He feels like a true soulmate to you, and like there is a deep spiritual connection.
This is probably even true, but Neptune, despite being compassionate and loving, is loving in a more all-encompassing way, more spiritually than personally. The Sun on the other hand wants a very personal exchange. This could lead to some misunderstandings or misconceptions about the true nature of this connection.
On the other hand it might actually be, that Neptune compassionately loves Sun (you), but it`s not a sexual kind of love.
His Neptune also opposes your Saturn - I know that this is a wide orbed as pect, but since your Sun is linking both- your Saturn and his Neptune- together.
Now there is a very good article on Saturn-Neptune online.
http://www.throughnightsfire.com/SaturnNeptuneconnections.html

on a more literal level it could mean that he dissolves (Neptune) your boundaries (Saturn), and that he just flows through any defences you may try to put up.
And you of course could give his life more structure, if he is in need of it.

You also trigger a very significant natal aspect of his.
His Pluto opposes his NN, or his Pluto conjuncts his SN.
And you put your ASC-DESC-axis onto this!
This is very powerful, very intense and deep, the question is just, does he like it?
His Pluto is very exactly conjunct your DESC, you may feel a very tremendous impact on you, triggering nearly obsessive passionate feeling inside you and the wish to have a never ending (Pluto) relationship (DESC) with him.
He may have almost hypnotizing influence on you, as if he has put you under a spell.
His SN conjuncts your DESC - so this powerful impact he has on you may stem from a very intense past life relationship.
He may feel though that this is something that he has to move away from, as his Pluto is conjunct his SN, indicative of his soulīs past. His purpose lies in the opposite direction.
But here is your ASC conjunct his NN - so your being, your essence, the person you are essentially is an important part of his lifepath.
You embody naturally, what he is to evolve to, so you could actually be a good teacher for him, but maybe since this is something new and unfamiliar, he feels a bit uneasy about it, yet there is this glue, this bond that is very hard to break.
Pluto on your DESC is also very "sticky", and your relating style will get transformed through him.

He also has Chiron opposing his Mercury-Uranus-conjunction.
Does he feel like he is inadequate in intellectual regards?
Does he feel like he always has to prove something intellectually?
There seems to be a wound regarding Mercurial-Uranian issues inside of him. Maybe, since Uranus is part of it, commitment issues play a role, as well as growing up and taking responsibility (mercury is the "puer aeternus", the eternal boy).

And now you come and put your Pluto onto his Mercury-Uranus-conjunction and opposes his Chiron.
He must feel confronted with that wound inside of him by you in quite intense ways. Does he feel you are "overshadowing" him, or are too strong for him, too intense?
Since Chiron is involved, he feels very vulnerable and pretty defenceless towards your probing intensity. Maybe he feels like you "invade" his mind and know just too much about him, on a very deep, soulsearching level.
On the other hand exactly because you know him so deeply, on an almost irrational level, this wound can finally heal. But to do that he has to be ready to LOOK at it first and not put up all possible rational defences against you.

Hey DD,
You can't hear it but I am applauding you.If I could put in the clapping hands symbol I would surely do it.
It is like we can't let go of each other but can't come too close either. It starts off polite and nice, then he starts backing off trying to push me away. It is not even like I get too close and personal, it just feels like he wants but does not want me.It was 9 months before I broke up because he would not make up his mind about where we were going.
Do these aspects mean that it is a hopeless case and that I am wasting my time waiting for him to grow up?
He has Saturn going over 5 of his planets between now and 2012, I am hoping that Saturn will be able to ground him better.
It is just frustrating to love someone so much and they don't even understand what you would give up or do for them without question.

Dear DD
If you could---could you tell me if my descriptions sound right?
I have a Scorpio ASC and Saturn is conjunct the ASC. Pluto is conjunct the MC.
I have a great drive to express my will and strength to the outside world(10th house/society)
I get depressed if I feel I am a sheep in a group. I get very troubled to feel I have given my will over to any group--big or small.
HOWEVER, Saturn conjunct ASC makes me self doubting and have a tremendous lack of confidence in my own core.
So, I have the conflict of not being able to just go along and being scared to stand up/out.
Would that make sense??
In synastry, HIS chart ruler--the moon--conjuncts my Pluto/MC.
I feel he gives me a sense of home in the midst of this struggle.
His moon(his heart)gives me more core strength to express my will(Pluto)

I am using separate posts for each house so I don't get confused and can separate the info in my own mind.
Pisces is on the cusp of the fifth house.I have Neptune in the 12th.
I feel I DO dissolve in creative things but this is acceptable and even good.
If you can lose your boundaries when you play music and meld with another musician--it is a wonderful experience.
I have never had sex like this but it would be my ideal.
Would this describe Pisces on 5th house cusp and Neptune in the 12th?
I have Neptune aspecting every planet in my natal chart except the moon and Saturn.
In synastry, His Uranus conjuncts my Neptune. His Mars semi-sextiles it(exact) His moon sextiles it(4 degrees) and Lilith trines it(3 degrees)
Thank you DD for all your help and knowledge on this Board!
Ami

I am gonna study more and come back. I am gonna try to figure out my own Neptune cuz perhaps I can get more grounded if I do.
My book says that the 12th house is where every planet loses its boundaries. It goes away from differentiation(becoming an individual and expressing oneself directly) to the opposite(can't think of the name but melding in to the universe--boundary less ness).
That is why madness is a 12th house issue cuz it is losing the boundaries of self to the outside world.

Rajn,

nothing`s doomed or lost ever.
Besides astrology only shows possibilities / potentialities; but it is up to both people how they going to deal with it.

as I see it, astrology shows clearly the impact two people have onto each other, but still the people can decide to act on their feelings or not.

Hey DD<
Thanks for the kind words. Sorry abt the delay in writing, it has been a strange few weeks for me. My dad's sister got diagnosed with lung cancer and now my mom's sister had a fall and they found a clot in her brain. The problem is she has no oneto take care of her, and there seems to be no solution in sight.
Can't figure out when this will take a turn for the better. The past 7 years have been one painful incident after another, feel very emotionally battered.
