You can be black and latin or white and latin.

How's that work? You just pick which one you want to be? It doesn't even make sense.

I'm kinda pizzed off the census doesn't have an option for my culture and then I pick black or white. Do they do it for Asians and other cultures or just latinos?

Hmm, I've lived in London all my life & personally haven't experienced much racism.
I'm not denying it's existence, after all we do have nutters like the BNP & combat 18.
However, I would definitely say that the UK is one of the most diverse and least racist countries in Europe.

Within Latin culture there race system too, just like in American Culture. For instance, in Mozambique...you're either white, black, Mestiço, and so many other things in between. Similar things happen in Spain and Latin America.

It's all so dumb.

Here in america you are either: Caucasian, Black, Hispanic, Asian, American Indian or other (from what I remember). There is no latin. I'm talking about regular questionnaires and not the census.

The option for Latino/Hispanic is actually there on alot of forms (Census, College, tc.) and it's probably for political reasons (they're the largest and most diverse minority). And they allow people to pick more than one for that reason. It doesn't make sense to some people, I know, but that's the way it is.

And sorry Coffee, I think your thread is being derailed.

Skin color is more important in the US, period. People react to it more. In many, many other countries it tends to be more about class rather than color. I'm not saying there's no racism there, but the class thing is a bigger deal.

This is the biggest thing I've noticed living in the US after having lived in the UK, and Egypt, and Kuwait.

Honestly, the girl who's #1 on that site is just ok. I don't see anything special. She doesn't radiate anything interesting, and her beauty is neither here nor there, it just looks very diluted and dull. But that's the US for you lol

Askmen.com has been going downhill for some time now though - the website's quality is no longer what it used to be.

Actually that is the UK's version of the top 100. I think America picked Katy Perry as number one.

I'm sorry but I think the UK is more racist. That is in both a political and public sense.

Really? I remember a guy I met from there who still referred to people like me as 'colored'. And I was told by family members who live there that not too long ago, anyone who wasn't white, was considered black (including various Asians). All that is considered racist in the U.S., but that's not the point. Maybe what happens in the U.S. is racist by your perception, but what you do there is also considered racist from our P.O.V. So really, neither is better than the other in that department.

How is the UK more racist? Seriously, I don't see it. I'm not saying they're perfect, but the US is certainly a lot more naive. At least the UK doesn't go around bragging about how it's the BEST COUNTRY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD and blah blah blah. It doesn't hide behind a veil of political correctness.
It's got it's own set of problems, but the US wins hands down in the BS department. After living in both places, I can honestly say that.

I think it's wrong to compare other countries according to whatever set standards one is used to. There will always be differences. People take nuances here and run with them and go THAT'S RACIST.
Seriously, whatever man. People in the US like to cry racism every 5 seconds because that's what THEY KNOW.

The United States is the most powerful country in the world. We deliver equal rights to ALL citizens. That is more than can be said for other countries such as the UK.

Equal rights is what was granted by the founding fathers and this rule hasn't changed for many, many years. The UK doesn't allow anyone to rule the country like we do.

This I'm guessing, but is it because most of your are women that you are purposely derailing my thread? It's like watching sheep!

ASTROLOGY SECTION HERE.

You are likely to be doing this to pee me off if you carry on, or post pointless argumentative posts.

Maybe if the issue is that hot you could start a new thread in the Lindaland central part.

Onwards with the topic if that's easy enough please.

No, not like this much at all. Something must be wrong.

The US is the best country in the world. That's why everyone wants to live here.

And I hardly think we are THAT racist since the majority elected a black president. I'd like to see that happen anywhere but the US, namely UK.
