WHOLE SIGN house system, though equal house isn't much different. Pay no attention to which house the MC is in. Look at it's house ruler.

Thank you IQ. Does this resonate with at all? I don't have your details to hand. I know you said Aries rising, but where is your Mars placed? IP: Logged |

I've read many different theories on interpreting houses and most of it agrees with your statement here. After analyzing many charts, I've found many different elements in interpreting house, planet, and sign placement. 1) Personal - I place heavy importance on the houses due to their derivation from time of birth. This makes them unique to each individual and exceptionally specific. 2) Literal - I think of the houses as both a lifelong timeline as well as a microcosm which a person repeats throughout a day/week/month/year similar to the seasons or any cyclical pattern. When looking at the houses from the widest point of view, one can almost predict major events by where on the wheel a planet falls. For instance, some say late 12th house planets could even be prenatal experiences. 3) Occupant Activity - Another issue to consider is not only the particular planets but stelliums in houses as well and any aspects or aspect patterns impacting a given house. The more a house has in it, regardless of the activity, the greater importance it carries for the individual. I happen to have a stellium in both my 6th and 10th houses. My career (10th) has always been about helping others (6th). 4) Traditional Rulers - These two houses fall in Pisces and Scorpio, respectively, which would lead one to believe that I am a very watery person. While this isn't too far off the mark, people (myself included) often underestimate the importance of each house's traditional ruler. In this case, the 10th is Capricorn and the 6th is Virgo. As you can see, this adds yet another layer to the tower, and places more importance on both Saturn and Mercury. Here are the aspect tables. Also, as a quick response to the Ascendant topic in this thread, I agree that the Ascendant carries significant importance for me. Sitting at 1°Cancer 34', mine has an odd skeptical/trusting juxtaposition going on. I work in communications but I'm shy. Lol. : ) IP: Logged |

I finally GOT this due to diligent study My ASC ruler is is Leo. ------------------ Enlightenment doesn't result from sitting around visualizing images of light, but from integrating the darker aspects of the self into the conscious personality Jung You must lose your life for My sake in order to find it . Once you have this you realise that the sign on the houses are like the outer bits, while the inner sign that the house ruler is on, is the inner bit.Take my Aries on the third house. I come across in a direct, maybe aggressive manner when first meeting me (Sign on outside) but when a person gets to know me, the get to know my (Mars in) Scorpio side which communicates with the idea of control and depth, to use a simple word. Im a big watcher... Later on when I am comfortable, either they or me, seem to come to me for advice.. I feel like Im suppose to help.. For some strange reason, they seem to ask me about something, that I have a lot of knowledge in... IP: Logged |

Thank you to all who have contributed to this thread. It seems that more than most seem to follow this logical pattern of sign on outer being what happens when you first meet, or mask, while the sign that the 1st ruler is in, can show what you're really like.I'm glad that people have not dismissed the idea out of hand and stuck with what they thought they knew. I feel like a Scorpio, with 1st ruler, Uranus, placed in Scorpio. IP: Logged |
