Maybe this will devolve into bickering.... I'll restrain myself lol but what are your political views and what do you think in your chart points to that?I have a 9th house Sun/Mercury with Jupiter in the 11th so I'm interested in politics. I identify as democratic socialist with anarchist sympathies. I have Saturn/Uranus conjunct in Sag square Venus in Pisces so I have a radical flare as well as a bleeding heart. I identify as a feminist, as in I am for the dismantling of the patriarchy and I believe that this will bring about gender equality. My father also has a very Sag chart but he's conservative (definitely not socially, though). In his case, he's the ONLY Republican in the family (the rest of the family were either hippies or punks). He has Saturn in the 11th. Lets try not to bash other political views please IP: Logged |

I'm conservative, and I would say this is related to my strong Capricorn influence along with my Saturn and Pluto in the 10th house. IP: Logged |

I have a Sun in 10th and Mercury and Mars in 11th. All in Capricorn. My Saturn is in the 12th House in Aquarius. My Jupiter is in the 2nd House in Aries. My Pluto is in the 7th House in Virgo.I'm a strong heavy conservative - fiscally, socially and otherwise - and have always been that way. My parents were more centrist, with my dad being center right and my mom being center. My brother is also a centerist. In a classic 2-by-2 matrix, I'm in the far upper right quadrant, implying both conservative from an economics viewpoint and authoritarian. My wife would rank further authoritarian and somewhat less conservative in a business sense. Sorry if I've lost half my LL friends in the process of making that statement IP: Logged |

Mercury in Capricorn correlates to conservative ideology irrespective of where the sun sign is. I have a very 'liberal' chart (Sun, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter in Aquarius; Mars, Uranus, Saturn in Sagittarius), and I've taken the political spectrum test and am a moderate liberal - keep in mind that that is bang-on halfway between centrist and Marxist.I have a feeling that the Pisces placement is prone to extremes either way. I have Sun, Mercury, Chiron, North Node and obviously MC in 10th house. When I've searched people with these placements I noticed that the vast majority were politicans, so it will come as no suprise that I would ideally want to become a politican. I do not identify with any political party, there are some things I like about each one of them and some things I hate; for the most part though I would have to say that I am Liberal Democrat. This is probably due to the fact that my strongest signs/planets are Aquarius/Uranus, Libra/Venus and Capricorn/Saturn and my Ascendant is in Sagittarius. My views are very similar to Gandhi's as the compass shows. IP: Logged |

I don't identify with either of the main parties either. I tend to vote "independent". I'm hardly ever impressed by the Democrats (sadly), and I was only ever interested in Colin powell on the republican side of things. I have Uranus conjunct my ascendant, opposed my Sun (widely), trine Mars, inconjunct Moon/Venus/South Node, and I'm probably missing something. Sun in Aries won't be bullied into voting for someone because everyone else tells me that I should. My Moon/Venus is in Gemini, and I dislike the gossip/slander that they people pay millions of dollars to broadcast, in order to make themselves look better. The worst of the republicans seem to be coming out of the woodwork this year, and it's scary. (I'm thinking of those who expect an abused woman to "just remember the happier times, and stick with it" or who want to fire unwed mothers if they're teachers, bitching about birth control, etc. I don't want any part of it. Sun in 10th, Mercury and Mars in 11th all in Aquarius. I have a tendency to get rather upset about politics that I feel I have to completely shut myself off from them because I am a socialist-type. Not when it comes down to a truly socialist government, but in that I think we should be taking care of the people, not the corporations, but I do understand we would literally have to END the government as is and start from scratch to achieve that, and nobody would benefit from that concept for a hundred years, soooo... I stay out of it really. I just do my part to live the way I hope everyone could. All I have it in me to do to be honest. I think my Leo moon would love to tell eveyrone that doesn't agree with me to stuff it, but I let my sun and mercury stifle the lion. LOL IP: Logged |

Here is my chart. No surprises here. I believe I am further right than most politicians. Compared to myself, George W. Bush looks like a liberal. Like I said, my wife is one box higher on the authoritarianism and one box left of me in the conservatism. IP: Logged |

I have Sun/Venus in the 9th, with Mars on the cusp. I fancy myself a liberal. In a perfect world I'd be "elected/chosen" as benevolent dictator. quote: I identify as a feminist, as in I am for the dismantling of the patriarchy and I believe that this will bring about gender equality.

i'm a politics newbie, but in the future intend to change that. my laziness has had the best of me as far as my interests go with politics. i'v had too many other things my minds been chasing!i'v never seen this political compass maps before, i decided to take one as i'v never known what i am as far as left/right or libertarian or authoritarian. thats my compass. im not sure what left and right generally speaks to mean but as far as the dot hovering in the middle between authority and liberty, it makes sense to me with my placements!

From a sociological perspective, it has to do with how you where raised and what experience in you life have you had so far. Anyway to astrological determine the type of life experience and troubles would help figure out what a persons views are. I know lots of people who vote for a particular party not because of policies. But because they were raised to those set views and then the next generation are raised also raised to that set value, even if the parties policies don't benefit the person voting. Its almost counter intuitive. There are also other voters who've changed views because of life experiences. Anyway, I'm center-left. I think overall I have an almost balanced chart, so I can see things from an overall perspective. I was brought up in a left wing society, so I've held to most of the left wing values. At the present I'm living in an almost right-wing society, so I have lots of comparisons, what works and what doesn't. Mr Gemini here has always been confronted with "both sides of the pendulum". --------------------------------------- Capircorn Rising Gemini Sun, 5th House Aries Moon Mercury in Gemini Venus In Taurus IP: Logged |

I would rather be interested in seeing the Geographical breakdown of all the users on lindaland. Geographical breakdown would be a more accurate and better assumption. Each region has a "poltical set value" it doesn't matter what polices or views the party is, there is an established value in that region. I'd love to compare natal charts of different places and when they were established, then do a composite chart of the region and the people that live there. Wouldn't a chart for Detroit, indicate economic hardships? then wouldn't obstacles be indicated in some of the natal charts of some of the residents living in Detroit?, because of the hardship there would be more of a tendency to vote to the left. I don't mean to put Detroit down for anyone that lives there, its just being used as an example. --------------------------------------- Capircorn Rising Gemini Sun, 5th House Aries Moon Mercury in Gemini Venus In Taurus IP: Logged |

^ Don't know exactly how to read that but am registered Independent, formerly Democrat, formerly Green Party, so have become more conservative over the yrs. Or more practical perhaps. In favor of giving more power to the states. The fed govt spends recklessly and on the wrong projects, but those specific projects that I am against funding so haphazardly are housed both on the liberal and conservative sides of the street. Lean liberal on social issues, gay marriage rights, drug/adult prostitution legalization. The govt needs to fix its own problems first before becoming concerned with affairs of other countries. The govt is bloated and run inefficiently at all levels; am angered with simple bureaucrats as much as with those who hold higher offices. There are systems that need to be overhauled; of those I care most about the criminal justice system, after that, education. Pisces/Capricorn/Leo. Nothing in H9/H10/H11. Dominant sign, Libra - Dominant planet, Pluto. Mercury in Aquarius.IP: Logged |

I took that political quiz a long time ago and was put under "Left/Libertarian".I'm about as liberal as you can possibly get. I think that my Aquarius Mercury points to this fact, and maybe my Leo Mars to an extent. I do feel very strongly about my beliefs, and I believe that my stubbron Taurus ascendant and all of that fixed energy (Mercury, Mars, and Ascendant in Fixed signs) would point to this. Capricorn is my dominant sign, but I've often heard it referred to as a very "conservative" sign, so that's interesting. IP: Logged |
