Hey goatcat, did you know marijuana increases the chances of developing anxiety? And it can worsen the effects of preexisting anxiety? The younger you start, the more likely you may develop anxiety and other mental health issues. It mellows you while you're high, but the rebound becomes progressively worse. quote:

Believe me, it never works trying to get mothers to accept what they do not wish to. If she is willing to at some point, that's great but moms are notoriously stubborn about what they disapprove of. IP: Logged |

That doesn't make it okay. You have to start with what's within reach and nothing will get better unless you can stop what you can. Starbucks, McDonalds, and alcohol companies can come later. I never smoke anything with my 12th house planets. Smoking is too strong for me, anyway, but I don't get upset when others do it or it's sung about in music. The only problem I have with stoners is they only like one kind of music, one kind of person and I like all kinds of people and ideas. We clash over that. I would just hate for her to believe her daughter is a certain way when she really isn't. Maybe it's my moms problem because she would be the one disapproving who I am. I never tell my mom stuff, haha. I keep most of what I do from her, always have. It's because she is very narrow and judgmental even though she has her own issues with substances, she is in full denial because they are prescribed and anything that a doctor provides is fine everything else is wrong, so I don't talk about stuff with her even though there's not much to talk about. I keep what I do to myself. Most of it is boring stuff, I just don't even talk about that. I guess open communication is best. I have just always been super secretive about what I do. It's not natural for me to communicate about everything. I stay quiet a lot of the time and can get snippy when people start questioning me. It feels so intrusive to me and I resent it. IP: Logged |

Well, you posed a personal question on a public forum - a question for which only you seem to know the appropriate answer. The others gave you their resolve - based on their relation with their mothers. If you find their responses crazy - maybe you're heavily influenced by your mother - while the others... not so much, so for them it's "normal". Same applies to me - I have so little in common with my mother that - we can't even compliment each-other (as if we're from different worlds)... so yeah - i don't tell her much about me.
