We all choose the path we take and have to deal with the consequences or reap the rewards of those paths. The consequence in this case would be having her mother disapprove of her, but goatcat made the decision to do the things she does knowing her mother's views...
I do empathize, but I have no pity for the situation. You make the choices you make and you have to handle the outcomes, whether they are pleasant or not.

I feel guilty that she doesn't know that I smoke. Nobody or anything could ever make me feel guilty about smoking weed. Nobody can ever make me feel bad about showing off my body. That's just the way I am, and I feel guilty that my mom has no idea...
I could care less about the rest of my family knowing about who I really am. It's just my mother who's raised me pretty much by herself my whole life doesn't have a clue of who I am. And my point is if I was a mother, I would want to know what my kids are doing. I feel that there comes a point in parenthood that your kids begin to teach you lessons that you may not have learned or experienced. I feel like my mother can learn a lot thru me if she really knew about me. But I know how she is.

You either have a mom you can talk to or one you can't, it seems. My mother has never really gone out of her way to foster direct communication. Whenever I didn't like going somewhere she always demanded to be told exactly why in vivid detail with nothing left unspoken and that scared me so all I could answer was "I don't know I just don't want to go" and that would make her even angrier. She had Virgo planets but they are sorta like Sag ones in a lot of ways.

When you are a parent, goatcat, maybe you will have a different way of communicating with your kids than your mom does with you so they will tell you stuff without being anxious or scared. You have nothing to feel guilty about because you will raise them to feel secure in telling you everything. It has to be a two way street. It's difficult communicating with people who are overly anxious and judgmental.

Yes, you would want to know everything and they will tell you because they know it is safe to. When a feeling of basic security is lacking, you don't really feel much like disclosing and it's not your fault.

Same applies to me - I have so little in common with my mother that - we can't even compliment each-other (as if we're from different worlds)... so yeah - i don't tell her much about me. She wouldn't be interested anyway - as she finds my way of thinking and my subjects of interest - to unorthodox... incomprehensible.

Excuse me? you think a 9-5 job is an easy way at earning money?

Because you don't seem to understand the concept of making someone else happy.

You read that wrong. I was saying that getting a 9-5 is a conventional way to make money.
