Well in the past it used to be that marriage was for social reasons, and the true love was with the mistress/courtesan. So in that sense, yes it was accepted. I would prefer to be in the role of the mistress/courtesan because it is a role more related to love, versus the "oficiality" and status of the wife. Because I care more about the connections of body and soul, not the documents. Also sex and eroticism is extremely important to me. That being said, I want to be the mistress of my husband. If I have chosen to be with someone it is because I see things I love about them, things I can learn from them, and things we can create together.That can never be "ugly". I can no longer be with anyone I don't love,
and I couldn't be a concubine or mistress to someone I loved.
It actually unlikely I would be able to love anyone in that capacity, because the aforementioned attraction elements would be too severely limited by the presence of their partner.
So, concubine is not an option. As for money - who cares?
