Okay, we have mars sag in the 5th house and venus in virgo in 3rd house and a 7th house in Uranus

Mars sag (fire) in the house of Leo(fire) and venus in virgo in the 3rd house would definetely make me believe that you need someone with a sanguine temperament, maybe even some kind of globetrotter/rocker and venus in virgo in the 3rd house (gemini) someone with an outgoing communication but still well-groomed (not in a classical way, in a rocker-like way). Since virgo & sag don't match: friction could be welcomed. And Uranus ruling your 7th house: yeah, someone unusual, someone with an unique style.

No wonder you don't like earth-guys despite your venus in virgo

Very easy for me as well.

Mars in Sag conjunct Neptune on ASC.
DESC square Jupiter
DESC-ruler Mercury, in Sag in 1st, conjunct Sun in Sagittarius
(Gemini DESC and Sun conj. Mercury)

5th ruler Venus, in Cap in 1st, square Pluto
DESC trine Pluto

This is just too easy.

Jupiter-Neptune-Mercury
Saturn-Pluto

I love my contradictions.

EDIT:
BTW Mr Sag has

Sun, Moon, MC in Sag
Mars conjunct Jupiter

ASC in pisces
Neptune widely conj. Sun-Moon

Mars in Virgo squaring Mercury
(mutual reception between Mercury and Jupiter as well - only thing that is a little off is that it is in Virgo, but it seems I prefer that to gemini-mercury, despite my DESC being in Gemini; I suppose it works better with my Venus, and can thus bridge the conflicting needs in my attraction profile)

Sun conj MC (well my DESc-ruler is conj. Sun, so I like a little theatrical flair)

Sun, Moon, MC square SAturn;
Venus, ruler 2nd, in Capricorn trine Saturn on the DESC.

Venus square Pluto in 7th

(at least we suffer from the same SAturn-Pluto-defect )

Wow, that type is spot on.
Also, my Venus has a conjunction to Jupiter (still in Virgo, but hey Jupiter--> Sag) and sextile to Uranus.
It has a conjunction to Saturn too, but in different signs and a very wide one. The Jupiter one is 5 deg.

I just noticed this and wanted to supply another example. All this minus Aqua.

ETA changed the placements to correct (I hope) ones
Sagittarius Sun, Aries Moon + Mars, Scorpio Venus. I *think* he had Leo Dsc but it's not 100% proven. Could be Cancer or Virgo.

He liked strong women in terms of mind more than in terms of body. Not the quiet strength, either, but you know, the alpha female thing. He once told me that the sexiest thing ever in a woman was "walking like she owns the damn place." But he didn't like muscular women or women with a masculine style. He liked long hair, tight dresses, high heels, a sort of glamourous and sexy look, and a body type that was slim but curvy. One of his examples of a hot celeb was Selena Gomez (Cancer Sun, Rising Leo conj Leo Venus in 1st, Taurus Mars, Aries Moon). He didn't like the super-fit body type (wiry, lean, muscular), the overweight type, and he didn't like the fragile super-thin type either.

But an unaspected (male) Mars in a synastry (with me) feels more than a little frutrating, dissatisfying, and even though there might be some attraction, appeal, intrigue present, without his Mars in the picture, there is always something weirdly off. Like the attraction just is not enough to really want to act on it. Dunno. Maybe it is just me though.

Same goes for my Venus - no aspects to it, no attraction on my behalf.

I like both. His Venus, his Mars, my Venus, my Mars. They don't have to contact each other all the time, maybe Sun, Moon, Jupiter, whatever.
Looking back at my synastries, I rarely if ever had the classic Sun to Moon contact, but both my Mars and my Venus were engaged each time a relationship lasted beyond a month.

There are different ways we could be a person's 'type', depending on their natal chart.

First and foremost I look at...

The 5th house (Romantic Sparks and admiration, being 'blown away' by someone)

The 7th house (Affection and liking, having one's soft spot touched)

The 8th house (deep emotional bonding and physical attraction, like being curious about what's going on inside someone and being magnetized by them)

If we put planets in these houses, or aspect the rulers of these houses, in someone else's natal chart we can stimulate the above type feelings within them.

The signs and planets associated with each of the 5th, 7th, and 8th houses show our 'type' in that area of life... The types of personality, and style, that appeals to us in certain ways. The symbolisim also shows the type of relationship support we like in that area of life. The planets and signs associated with the 5th, 7th, and 8th house show our ideals. Look at the signs on the cusp, planets in that house, and the ruler of the cusp by sign, house, and aspect.

Sometimes acting like a person's type is not enough. We need more then just the right personality qualities and personality type. For example, a person may have an Aries Dsc but they will not be attracted to every single Aries Sun, Moon, or Asc they meet. There's an X factor, or chemistry required, to complete the picture. A person has CHEMISTRY with those that...

1. Put planets in the person's 5th, 7th, and 8th houses, and also aspects other parts of the chart with the planets in question. If you put a planet in someone's love house but it doesn't aspect there chart with it, it might not be 'felt' by them.

2. Have planets strongly aspecting the rulers of the person's 5th, 7th, and 8th houses. It's like setting off a chemical reaction, they feel our energy in certain kinds of ways... Depending on the theme of the house in question.

Then I check secondary houses to elaborate on the above themes. The secondary 7th especially tends to be very illuminating. Probably because the 7th house is an angular house. Gemini Dsc looks at the 3rd house, Taurus Dsc looks at the 2nd house, Aries Dsc checks look to the Asc, Aquarius Dsc looks to the 11th house, and so on, to show extra details about our partnership likes.

For secondary houses the process of checking for potential attraction is the same as with the original love houses.

Then I look at the gender planets... Sun, Moon, Mars, Venus... For indications about they types of gender appropriate behavior we like. It shows how a person would prefer a Men or Women to present themselves, and act in relationships. Again, these planets by sign, house, and aspect, will show a person's gender related ideals. Actual aspects to these planets in synastry shows a lot about the physical and romantic chemistry we have with them.

A note about Venus: Attraction to Venus' qualities in the natal chart exists in both men and women. That's because Venus is naturally associated with the 7th house, and we all in theory are attracted to the 7th house. So, Venus goes both ways so to speak. Venus shows what we think is beautiful, and what inspires our affection, and the types of attitude we have towards relationships.

Then I look at the Vertex Axis... Does the person have planets on either end of it. Do they have planets aspecting it strongly (Even if by sextiles and trines). Do the have planets aspecting the rulers of either end of the Vertex Axis... Particularly conjunctions. All these things can give the person in question the marvelous feeling that they've meet someone significant in their life in sort of a spooky, syncronistic way, where it feels like fate.

Even the signs on either end of the Vertex Axis showing up in the partner's chart gives a hint of this feeling. Especially, if they have an opposition in these signs (The signs on the Vertex Axis opposition). However, this is never as strong as it is when someone directly aspects the person's Vertex Axis

Next I look at certain key asteroids in attraction...Namely, Juno, Eros, and Psyche.

You are right, let me check my notes. I must have mixed up two people.

Right, I think that was Sagittarius Sun, Aries Moon, Venus in Scorpio, Mars in Aries. (I have a list, not a chart here.)
Moon + Mars. I'll fix the original message too.

I have some questions about your lovely post, Lotis.

Do you think the activation of rulers prevails, compared to the Sun Mars Venus Moon type suggested by the chart? You said you first look at rulers, to determine the type and to see if their types match. You also said a person's gender related ideals is firstly shown by these rulers, rather than their Moon Venus etc. This is a very interesting idea and I wonder if this is your experience.

I have Psyche in the 1st house and important Psyche contacts in synastry. What is your take on Psyche in a romantic synastry?

In my experience the 5th, 7th and 8th houses are stronger then the gender planets for determining the actual signs that we wind up with in our partner's chart. We are attracted specifically to these signs. Their energy and style. A person with Scorpio on the 7th house is more likely to end up married to a Scorpio Sun, Moon, or Asc, then a person with a gender planet in Scorpio. And I look not just at the rulers of 5th, 7th, and 8th houses, but the signs on the cusps, and the planets in these houses. Pluto in the 7th would is also more likely to wind up with a Scorpio Sun, Moon, or Asc.

The gender planets show the type of style we are attracted too. Though, we may or may not actually wind up with someone who has these signs strong in their chart. If they have a planet or two our gender planet signs it certainly doesn't hurt... And could very well enhance attraction. However, the pull towards the energy of the gender planets seems to be less sign-specific. For example, if a lady has Mars in Virgo she would be drawn to guys who are helpful and exacting, but he does not need to have Virgo strong in his chart. Maybe he has an Earth Mercury aspecting her chart. That would be enough to do the trick.

The signs of our gender planets in the partner's chart can enhance attraction, and can capture our attention. It's not absolutely essential, though, that our partner has these signs in their chart.

Going back to house symbolism, the 5th, 7th and 8th houses, tend to show our sign-specific attractions. While the gender planets show attraction to certain kinds of style but it's not in a sign-specific way.

Having said all of this, there is usually at least one or two themes in the partner's chart that can be traced back to our gender planets. These are usually not as dominant as our love house themes as found in the partners chart, but they are still relevant, and most likely add something special to the connection.

Another thing I think you were asking about is: What is stronger... Aspects to the 5th, 7th, and 8th house rulers, or aspects between gender planets, like Mars/Venus, and such.

Basically I think it works like this. Two people could have Mars/Venus, but this aspect may not be 'activated' unless they also have love house connections between them in synastry.

Sometimes one partner may have their love houses touched while the other does not. The person with their love houses touched may feel the aspect in a romantic way, while the person with their love houses untouched will most likely feel it in a platonic way. All yin/yang aspects can function on either a platonic level or a romantic level. Love house synastry switches on yin/yang aspects elsewhere in the comparison in a romantic way. This is because the relationship houses open up the possibility that we'll view someone in THAT type of context.

Another way to look at it. Lets say we have a lot of love house synastry with somebody, but that there’re no yin/yang aspects to create raw physical chemistry. Such a person would really seem like our type, and in the beginning we might really be drawn to them. But after a while the pull might start to falter. There would be major mental and emotional chemistry in terms of them fitting our ideals, however, our infatuation with their personality would only go so far, and after a while we might notice a lack of physical attraction.

I think that at least one yin/yang aspect is needed for an attraction to be ‘complete’, even if the love house synastry is really strong.

So I guess the answer is that both yin/yang aspects, and love house synastry, are important. Both are needed.

If you have love house synastry without yin/yang aspects, the person really seems like your type but the raw physical connection is missing. It’s all about ideals and intellectual chemistry… Feeling like someone should be your partner because the fit your conceptualizations.

If you have yin/yang aspects without love house synastry, these aspects are often not ‘switched on’ and we don’t feel them on a romantic level at all. Sometimes Venus/Mars is just about balancing assertiveness with charm in a connection. Occasionally we might have a primal type reaction to these aspects without love house synastry. When this occurs the person might appeal to us on a basic physical level but they won’t feel like our ‘type’… They don’t have the right kind of personality and style for our taste.

I think the strongest attractions we have, when we’re really taken with somebody, include a mixture of good planet/planet synastry (with at least one yin/yang aspect), and love house synastry… The partner’s planets in our love houses, or aspecting our love house rulers. Having both works best.

I actually went into this topic in great detail in this thread…

More for LeeLoo,

I got this from the thread I posted a link for. I wrote it ages ago but I think it'll answer you questions on how I view Psyche as well as Juno and Eros. Interestingly, your guy is a Pisces right? Don't you have a Pisces Juno? You might find the William and Kate example down the bottom interesting.

SOME OF MY FAVORIATE ASTEROIDS JUNO, EROS, PSYCHE AND ATTRACTION

I’ve found the asteroids Eros, Psyche, and Juno, to be especially telling about extra little details to do with taste. Other asteroids work too, but these three have become personal favorites. The are like ‘accessories’ to the ‘bulk’ of our taste as shown by the 5th, 7th and 8th houses, and the Vertex Axis.

Synastry involving these asteroids enhances attraction, and each has a certain affinity with the 5th, 7th, and 8th houses. Not that they are directly associated with these houses, it’s just that I can see a similarity in the energy patterns.

I've always thought of Eros as a tiny little dart with a similar flavor to the 5th house. It has this whole euphoria/excitement thing going on. It’s about chemistry and falling in love, and is a very ‘romantic’ asteroid.

Psyche has more of an 8th house flavor, she has to do with private encounters, intuition, and our journey to reach loving union. Psyche also seems to show how we 'jump through hoops' for a loved one, and how we use our resourcefulness to solve problems in relationships (She has good intentions but she can be a little sneaky. Like in the myth, she uses a candle to view Eros's face even though she wasn't supposed to).

Juno has a 7th house type flavor. Juno give extra details about what we 'require' from a partner in order for them to be a suitable mate, and about what traits inspire our liking, approval, commitment, and loyalty. Juno also seems to have some type of association with what we view as beautiful/ attractive. I've read before that Juno has to do with adornment, accessories, and decoration. Juno is sort of like a mini-Venus that's more interesting in commitment then seeking pleasure.

I wouldn’t say asteroid synastry can ‘turn on’ attraction synastry, the word I mentioned before is ‘ENHANCE‘. Synastry involving Eros, Psyche and Juno adds power to an already existing attraction shown in synastry. I’ve noticed there is something magical about Eros/Psyche aspects especially.

Sometimes I do think that Juno is a lot more powerful then people realize though. When I first learned about Juno I was a little bit curious but I didn’t think that much of it. Over time though, I’ve seen repeated instances of people’s Juno signs showing up somewhere in the partner’s chart. I strongly suspect Juno’s way more significant in how we choose our partners then a lot of people realize. I admit I don’t have proof but there sure is a lot of 'circumstantial evidence'.

To use the example of a totally different Cancer/ Capricorn couple… One famous example is Prince William and Catherine Middleton… He’s a Cancer, and she’s a Capricorn… His 7th house starts in late Gemini and contains the entire sign of Cancer. As it happens, Catherine’s Cancer Moon falls into his 7th house. This is good. However, her Sun sign Capricorn doesn’t show anywhere in his attraction pattern (5th, 7th, or 8th houses). Except that he has Juno in Capricorn. His 7th house is attracted to her Cancer Moon, and his Juno is attracted to her Capricorn Sun.

Thank you, Lotis, wonderful explanations!

Yes, he's a Pisces, my Juno is in Pisces. He has Juno in Aqua conjunct my Lilith and opp my Moon.

It is interesting what you say about Psyche and the search for meaning. I think although her gesture with the candle came from a moment of weakness (inspired by the jealousy of her sisters who provoked her not to respect her end of the bargain), in a way it could be viewed as a search for truth, for seeing the "real face" of Eros. It ultimately generated an incredible journey leading to true love.

I can definitely see Psyche connected to the 8th house, it's a wonderful association.

This actually answered my question from another thread, thanks!

I also have an example from my friend regarding houses:

The lady has Mars in Scorpio in her 9th house.
Her 5th has Gemini on cusp.
Her 7th has Leo on cusp, Jupiter inside.
Her 8th has Virgo on cusp, Saturn inside.
Saturn aspects her Sun, Jupiter square her Mars and trine her Sag Mercury.

Two of her exes had Virgo Sun, one had Capricorn Sun.
Literally all of her boyfriends had Virgo/Capricorn (usually Virgo), Leo, Sagittarius and Gemini/Libra (usually Libra) in their personal placements. Also there was something in Scorpio, often Saturn or Jupiter, sometimes Scorpio Rising, but there were no Scorpio heavy charts. Just a little bit of Scorpio, like spice in food. Virgo and Capricorn seemed to be interchangeable, Gemini and Libra, too, but Leo & Sag were both there at the same time.

There was this Water Guy with Scorpio + Cancer + Pisces making up like 80% percent of his chart, Scorpio dominating over other two Water signs. He was so in love--no luck.

However, her husband has Scorpio Sun conj Mercury, Sagittarius Rising, Leo Mars (I think, or maybe Moon), and his personal placements are jam-packed with both Libra and Virgo.

It is as if she couldn't or didn't want to follow her gender planet until she found a guy who had her house-based astrological needs satisfied through his chart too.

Her longest happy relationship before the husband was with a guy who had Virgo Sun + Mercury, Leo Venus + Mars, Sag Jupiter, Scorpio Saturn, Moon in either Pisces or Aquarius. See how little Scorpio he had?

I totally agree with this.
Also about the style we are looking for and the gender planets.
For me personally the same is true for the signs on the cusp of the love houses, maybe because i have no planets in there, but while I can see how I need the Taurus (5th), Gemini (7th) and Cancer (8th) style of interaction in these areas, I don`t feel particularly drawn to these signs, but rather to the sign of Venus and Mercury, not my Moon-sign interestingly. But hey who knows?
Leeloo sais Mr Aquarius must come along any moment now, and now would be a good moment with my sa Venus starting to conjunct my Aqua Moon (exact in spring 2015).

But so far I have never felt erotically attracted to an Aquarius, though I love the Uranianness in people and interaction. Bizarre.
In this case I might actually more relate to Saturn IN 8th house (and my preference for the SAggy/Cappy-cusp. I am so easy in this regard. lol Give me some Saggy/Cappy-mix with a nice Uranus and/or Neptune aspect and I am happy - a bit of Aries thrown in is very appealing to, as is a dash, just a small dose though, of Virgo, but it is not a condition)

Sorry I am disgressing agian.

Also what I notice is that for someone with Pluto in 7th house, it might not always be a Scorpio, but can also be someone with Sun/Moon/Mars/Venus in 4th harmonic aspect to Pluto, or Pluto on an angle, usually the ASC or MC.

Lotis,

"I think the strongest attractions we have, when we’re really taken with somebody, include a mixture of good planet/planet synastry (with at least one yin/yang aspect), and love house synastry"

Would you consider Venus/Uranus and Mars/Neptune (maybe also Venus/Pluto) as Yin/Yang, too, even if on a more "generational" level?

Actually my time flow chart for 2015 (first half) looks shocking will put it on the progressions thread though.

Hi Ceri,

Yes. Although I tend to think the aspects between the personals... Sun, Moon, Mars, and Venus, are the strongest. Personal planets aspecting the outer planets still work for 'out-there' kinds of attraction. But they are less deeply personal in nature and more like an interesting spectacle to explore. That’s my observation.

People sometimes forget how powerful Sun/Moon is. I've noticed there actually is a physical attraction associated with Sun/Moon, which people often overlook. Probably because the aspect seems too basic somehow. The Sun is associated with our physical vitality, similar to Mars… Mars/Moon aspects work for attraction, and Sun/Moon does too. Mars/Sun does as well, but these non-yin/yang aspects are less sweet, and more raw, then the ying/yang ones. There are other planetary combinations that are not yin/yang, like Pluto, Mars, or Sun combos, that can generate attraction. These do work but for some reason they tend to feel less 'ideal' then yin/yang aspects.

Physical attraction only comes from planetary synastry the majority of the time, but there’s an exception. Aspects to the Asc, or possibly the Asc ruler, from Mars or Venus in the other person’s chart can often do the trick. The Asc rules our appearance.

In my experience the 5th, 7th and 8th houses are stronger then the gender planets for determining the actual signs that we wind up with in our partner's chart.

I totally agree that signs on the cusps do show a lot about the style of relationship that we like. And that people differ in how they are drawn to their 5/7/8 attraction pattern in terms of what actual signs they fall for the most.

Yeah, differential attraction to our 5th, 7th, and 8th house symbolism, is a massive topic just by itself!

Yes, we’re all attracted to our 5th, 7th, and 8th houses… But which part? Is it the sign on the cusp? The sign of the cusp ruler? The signs ruled by planets in these houses? The sign associated with the house of the cusp ruler? Or some combo of all the above factors. There are plenty of people who claim not to be moved by their Dsc sign.

Sometimes people are attracted to the sign ruled by a planet aspecting the cusp ruler. Uranus square the 7th house ruler could attract you to an Aquarius or a person with a strong Uranus in the chart.

When it comes to love house attraction, in terms of the signs we are most attracted too, we actually have quite a few variables to choose from. I think the context of the rest of our natal chart influences our choices with regard to our 5th, 7th, and 8th houses.

For example, a person with an Aries Dsc, and Mars in Pisces in the 6th house, and Mars trine Jupiter, has a bunch of options. They could be most attracted too: Aries, Pisces, Virgo, or Sagittarius type of energy.

Usually one or two of these energies will be their personal favorites. Which ones they gravitate towards the most depends on the rest of their natal chart.

If they have a stellium in Cancer they might be very attracted to Pisces and Virgo due to the harmonious aspects from these signs possible with their chart. They might even be attracted to Aries because square energy is quite direct and does have a powerful impact. Sagittarius might be less of a pull for them because this sign only makes quincunxes to their Cancer stellium, and these aspects tend to be awkward and indirect. However, if they have a planet in Libra quincunx their Pisces 7th house ruler, they are familiar with the quincunx energy in relationships, and might actually like that Sagittarius quincunx to their Cancer from a planet or two…

It all depends on what types of aspects in synastry we are drawn too. For some Cancer stelliums the square from Aries would be too much, whereas with others, the square might be invigorating. We all have different tolerance levels for hard and soft aspects. This is often shown by the balance of hard and soft aspects in our chart. Some people love soft aspects, but others have complained that they are boring! We all have different tolerance levels for conjunctions and quincunxes too. The context of our entire natal chart, and our preference for certain types of aspects in synastry, will often determine which parts of our 5th, 7th, and 8th houses, that we are attracted to the most. It’s a very individual thing, and sometimes it’s hard to predict.

As we get to know ourselves, and develop a feel for what kind of synastry aspects we like to the different planets in our chart, we are often able to get clearer images of what parts of our 5/7/8 attraction pattern we resonate with the most.

Also, Some people are attracted to different parts of their 5/7/8 attraction pattern at different times in their lives. Or, even if a certain sign doesn’t go well with our chart… we could get that energy from our partner in a different way… If the Cancer stellium person from the example above doesn’t go well with Sagittarius the sign, they still could be attracted to 9th house planets or a strong Jupiter in the partners chart (Like Jupiter conjunct the Asc or something).

Yeah Starry night, this is pretty much the kind of thing I was thinking about.

I like the 'spice on food' analogy for the influence of gender planets in attraction. We only need a dash of turmeric or a pinch of cinnamon to spice our food, not an entire bowl full of it. I think the gender planets work like this. They show little things we like to see accentuating our partner's chart... Like a scarf going with an outfit.

Although, here's an interesting point. Her secondary Mars house is the 8th house. She has Mars in Scorpio and Scorpio is associated with the 8th house. Her 8th house has Virgo on the cusp and Saturn in the 8th... And, as you said, most of her boyfriends were Virgos and Capricorns by Sun sign. The Sun sign of our partner is a massive part of their psychology and pretty much always shows our attraction patten one way or another. Yes, their Suns have resonated with her 8th house, but they have also resonated with her Mars, in that they match energetically with the house associated with her Mars sign. I suspect that in her case, her natural attraction to her 8th house was enhanced even more then normal by her Scorpio Mars.

The house associated with the signs of Mars and Venus in particular can exert quite a powerful influence on our taste. Mars for women, Venus for men.

Also Ceri,

Perhaps you are probably occasionally are attracted to Virgo energy because this entire sign sits in your 9th house, and you have a Sagittarius Mars. Your 9th house reinforces the Sagittarius theme as well, with your Sun being in Sagittarius, and Leo being on the 9th house cusp.

I think maybe her attraction to Virgo was double because of her 5th house being ruled by Mercury, too.

But she still ended up with a Scorpio Sun after all those Virgo/Cap guys. xD Mars won.

I was thinking about that, Lotis, about the other's ASC ruler in aspect (especially a hard one) to the rulers of 5th and 8th, perhaps the 7th too, as a connection showing physical attraction, pertaining to the ruler, felt by the love house ruler towards the ASC ruler person.

5th ruler conjunct ASC ruler - 5th ruler finds the other beautiful or appealing and falls in love both with their appearance and personality, of course (however, it is a first stage kind of love, based on outlook)

8th ruler conjunct ASC ruler - 8th ruler is physically attracted to ASC ruler in a compelling way

7th ruler conjunct ASC ruler - 7th ruler thinks ASC ruler is his type, at least on first glance (the Ascendant).

What do you think?

Thank you I like how you call her Luna, the Moon

A few highlights on Juno I found online:

Juno

Areas of Influence: Juno was the Goddess of marriage, pregnancy and childbirth.

She was the Queen of the Gods and part of the Capitoline triad that also included Minerva and Jupiter.

This Deity was an embodiment of the traditional female roles of wife and mother.

One of her titles was Lucino (meaning light) as she helped to bring children into the light of this world at birth. She was also said to set and strengthen a childs bones.

She was also Goddess of conception, a Goddess to be called upon in labour and one who helped settle disagreements between spouses.

Juno protected the finances of the Roman people. In this role she was the patron Goddess of the royal mint.

Before she absorbed many of Hera's characteristics several scholars suggest that she was a Maiden Goddess.

The Month of June was named after her and it was considered the most favourable month to get married in.

Her other claim to fame is that as an archetypal figure she appears in Shakespeare's play The Tempest.

Each Roman woman was said to have her own Juno which represented her female spirit.

Origins and Genealogy: According to later Roman myths she was the sister and consort of Jupiter and the mother of Mars, Hebe and Vulcan.

Mars was conceived when the Goddess was imoregnated by a flower.

Strengths: Leadership and a loyal wife.

Weaknesses: Jealousy and vindictiveness.

Juno's Symbolism

This Roman Goddess had a more warlike nature than Hera and was often depicted in a goat skin coat that was favoured among Roman soldiers.

She was also able to throw lightning bolts like her husband Jupiter.

Sacred Birds: Geese and peacocks.

Sacred Plants: The wild fig tree.

Festivals: A special ceremony was dedicated to her in the home to celebrate the beginning of each lunar month.

Her main festival, the Matronalia was held on 1st March. On this day married woman asked their husbands to give them money to make offerings to the Goddess.

A smaller celebration known as the Nonae Caprotinae took place on 7th July.

Greek and Etruscan Equivalents: The Goddess Hera was the Greek equivalent to Juno.

Uni was the Etruscan Goddess who shared many similarities with this Deity.

Juno's Archetypes

The Queen :

In the positive aspect the Queen represents the regal feminine. Using her benevolent authority to protect others. This Archetype can signify the power of women who rule over anything from the office to the home environment.

The shadow aspect reflects the tendency to become arrogant, controlling and aggressive when challenged.

As Queen of the Roman pantheon Hera has power and authority. Like her Greek counterpart, Hera, she misuses her position when she feels threatened.

The Companion:

This stereotype is loyal, tenacious and unselfish in their service to a more authoritive figure. In this relationship she provides them with emotional and practical support to enable her partner to concentrate on his mission. This was long considered the traditional role of the wife.

The shadow Companion manifests as betrayal, breaking confidences and identity loss through constantly suppressing your own needs.

Hi LeeLoo,

Nice interpretations! These aspects would definitely work for the house-person identifying the Asc person as their type. At least on a psychological level. For sure.

The physical attraction part is a bit more complex, I think, as I'll explain later.

I think the 5th, 7th, and 8th house rulers conjunct the Asc are really great activators for physcial attraction aspects found elsewhere in the synastry. Aspects like this can 'flip the switch' moving gender planet aspects elsewhere in synastry from operating on a platonic level, to operating on a more romantic level.

The 5th, 7th, and 8th house rulers in aspect to another's chart tend to show emotional and psychological attraction rather then physical attraction. Unless, you have a gender planet, especially Mars or Venus, ruling a love house.

The 8th house is a weird exception here. I think the 8th house ruler can be attracted physically. The only thing is, if the 8th house ruler is not a gender planet, the person with the Asc might not feel it. If Mercury rules the 8th house, the Mercury person might feel attracted, but the Asc person mostly feels 'Mercury energy' and may not get it.

I do think we can feel other people's house rulers to some extent in relation to the house that they rule. But, by itself, if the 8th house ruler is a non-gender planet and conjunct someone's Asc, this won't be enough for a full fledged physical attraction to develop for the Asc person. Even if to some extent the Asc person can 'feel' that Mercury as the other person's 8th house ruler. There'd be a bit of intrigue and that's it.

Actually, I also suspect that the rulers of the 5th, and the 7th houses, in aspect to someone else's gender planets or Asc, could create a bit of physical attraction on the side of the house-person. Not as strong as with an 'activated' gender planet aspect in synastry, but a mild physical attraction might be there. So I guess I take back the notion that the house-rulers are only good for psychological attraction. I think I only said that earlier for the sake of simplicity. Some physical attraction comes from them only it's softer and more mild then the planet/planet or planet/Asc connections. The catch is this... It might be a one-sided attraction if the house ruler is not a gender planet.

If Venus rules the 5th house and aspects someone's Mars, that works great for both sides.

However, if someone has Saturn ruling the 7th house and it aspects someone's Mars, the Saturn person would experience some physical attraction while Mars might be oblivious. This couple would need interaspects between Sun, Moon, Venus, and Mars, elsewhere in the synastry.

Let me be clear on this point: When gender planet/planet aspects, or even gender planet/Asc aspects, are 'activated' romantically, they are the most powerful kind of physical attraction aspects you can have with someone.

The 5th, 7th, and 8th house rulers in aspect to the partner's chart are mostly about psychological attraction (which is immensely important, don't underestimate it), with a little physical attraction thrown in there. These houses in synastry are mostly about being able to identify someone as our 'type' in terms of personality and style.

As I said before, most people have at least one gender planet ruling the 5th, 7th, or 8th houses though, including the Sun, Moon, Venus, and Mars. This opens up a lot of cool synastry options for that planet.

If gender planets are ruling the love houses and conjunct someone else's Asc it's much more likely to result in a MUTUAL physical attraction.
