Why dont you guys start an email circle,
you can send emails to more than one person, you know.

You probably all have each other's emails.
Talk about this stuff in the safety of your sowing circle.

I think that is a great idea.

The internet is a melting pot of different perspectives.
If you can't take the heat, get off of the messageboards.

Or just stop posting and encouraging rude, remedial threads.
That's really the only choice I think you've got.

Oh, yeah. Or ignoring me.

Melody,

As long as they continue to provoke me,
they will continue to get schooled.

And we are all struggling. I'm suicidal half the time, lol.

What's their excuse for being even more insulting than I am?

Will follow your suggestion, HSC.
I shall "see" you no more.
You can take your "remedial action" and shove it in your oubliette along with your presumptuousness.
Thy will be done.

Mel, you're such a fabulous friend

Joaquin on Letterman vs. Joaquin on Letterman

"I'm hopeful that you will reconsider, and come back to acting, because you're just, you know, nobody really better than you are." - Dave Letterman in Joaquin's last interview on his show

It's clear from the first clip that Joaquin knows how to be a guest on Letterman, and it's clear from other interview clips that he can string sentences together when he's passionate about something. Letterman would have been a great platform for Joaquin to go over whatever he's passionate about at the moment, and Joaquin could have saved that interview at any moment if he would have just stood up for himself, but instead he let everything get to him. Joaquin had a hand in creating every moment of that interview.

He clearly didn't seem to be in the right state of mind for appearing on Letterman, so that was probably a bad call on his part. If his energy wasn't up, and he wasn't prepared for the public's reaction to the new him, he shouldn't have gone. Better to be an a$shole and cancel, than be an a$shole when you show up.

And Dave did meet him halfway. Dave's an experienced interviewer. He gave Joaquin several means of joining the conversation.

I wouldn't be inclined to offer Joaquin more sympathy than Dave. I certainly don't see Letterman as having hung himself.

Ghani, I've been obsessed for names, I have three baby name books, and marvel at people's names.

Some suggestions I have:

Holly
Vanessa
Lexine
...I don't know, I don't really have many on my mind.

People make fun of celebs because they are human, people make fun of me, my dad, my mom, my sis, my cousins, my friends, my grandma, my peers, old folks, young folks, Black, White, Asian, Mexican, Chrisian, Baptist, Jewish, and so on..

People get made fun of everyday, what does being a celeb have to do with it? Why should a celeb get a free pass from being ridiculed for doing ridiculous crap, when I don't get free pass when I do something ridiculous?

I am going to use Katy Perry for example. I was signing in on my Yahoo and I came across a net article about this hideous blue zebra and red pumps she wore and everyone was just making fun of her. I didn't think much of it until a month later when I was flipping through the channels and saw her in a interview about her "wacky sense of style".

She basically said, that she's comfortable dressing the way she does and that she loves her "style" and everyone else can shove it because Katy Perry is going to do Katy Perry, rather the paparazzi, media, or America likes it.

I like that attitude, Katy Perry definatly is not one of these "boo hoo baby me" celebs like Paris, Amy Whinehouse, Lidsay, or whatever. She knows her style is "strange" and that people are going to talk sh!t but she doesn't care.

I feel like if you going to act ridiculous such as driving over the speed limit in a neighborhood, snorting up coke, and acting like a complete a$$ in public, then don't get mad if people make fun or talk sh!t about it.

Also the paparazzi and the media don't corupt celebs, celebs corupt themselves. They have personal responsiblity for their actions. The only time I feel slanted for celebs, if they are kid stars and thats about it.

Yes, AG celebs do make fun of celebs. Just like people make fun of people. I admit it does hurt and I did see HSC point about making fun of other's suffering. I am not going to act like it's entirely ok but I still stand by celebs have personal responsibilty for themselves.

Also when my friend told me about Kate Winslet's whole wieght issue with media, I had first exspected my friend to say she was starving herself but nothing of the sort came up and to my suprise Kate Winslet is still a curvacious yet lovely actor. Thats what I mean by personal responsiblity for one's self. You don't have to starve, get drunk and drugged out just because the media slanders you...

Of course I exspect someone to say, well not everyone is Kate or Katy and thats true too. Thats why I am going to leave it as I am not entirely right but I am not entirely wrong either.

Duncan: There is a war on. How is it you are headed west?

Hawkeye: Well, we kinda face to the north and real sudden-like turn left.

______________________________________________

Colonel Munro: Montcalm is a soldier and a gentleman, not a butcher.

Hawkeye: Easy for you to suppose!
It's their women and children on the farms, not yours!

Colonel Munro: You forget yourself, sir.

______________________________________________

Jack Winthrop: Nathaniel's word's been good on the frontier a long time before you got here.

Colonel Munro: This meeting is over, the militia stays.

______________________________________________

Duncan: That is sedition!

Hawkeye: That is the truth.

Duncan: I'll have you beaten from this fort!

Hawkeye: Someday I think you and I are going to have a serious disagreement.

______________________________________________

Cora Munro: A breed apart, we make no sense?

Hawkeye: In your particular case, Miss, I'd make an allowance.

Cora Munro: Thank you so much.

______________________________________________

Cora Munro: They do not live their lives "by your leave"!
They hack it out of the wilderness with their own two hands,
bearing their children along the way!

______________________________________________

Cora Munro: They're going to hang you.
Why didn't you leave when you had the chance?

Hawkeye: Because what I'm interested in is right here.

______________________________________________

Jack Winthrop: You're not coming with us?

Hawkeye: I've got a reason to stay.

Jack Winthrop: That reason wear a striped skirt and work in the surgery?

Hawkeye: It does. No offense,
but it's a better looking reason than you, Jack Winthrop.

______________________________________________

Cora Munro: You are right, Mr. Poe.
We do not understand what is happening here.
And it's not as I imagined it would be,
thinking of it in Boston and in London...

Hawkeye: Sorry to disappoint you.

Cora Munro: No, on the contrary.
It is more deeply stirring to my blood than any imagining could possibly have been.

______________________________________________

Cora Munro: The whole world is set on fire.

Writesomething....yeah, it's a bit out of hand, but he I think he prefers it this way. I already offered up another thread about the subject to try and help and he's ignored it.
Maybe it's not caring so much as the concept of caring that appeals.

Boo hiss boo, we must worship and protect the ego of the poor starlet with the 8 figure bank account and the second house in San Tropez instead of remembering they're human just like the rest of us. Who would possibly commit that mortal sin?

Seriously, it's satire ffs! No one is immune to it, celebrities included. Don't like it? Remind the celebs not to do stupid things under the public eye, and we won't laugh.
