I was just reading an older thread where Ozone was talking about how scorps don't have a stare that lasts for a long time, but it is intense for that brief moment.

I'm wondering what all the other scorps out there think about that, or maybe, what other signs have experienced with our "stare"?

I personally have always looked people directly in the eye the entire time we talk, and I've been told that I have a "death look" that I shoot at people (particularly men I'm sooo not interested in but who won't go away). Lately people have been pointing that out- that I can shrivel someone with this look that I have. I am a very friendly person and usually very approachable, so it's not like I do it all the time just so you know. But I've also noticed that I have to moderate my eye contact with certain people. I've also begun to notice that the only other people who maintain constant eye contact when talking to me is other scorps, and some people even look in my eyes and then away again really quickly, almost darting their eyes around. That's when I usually look away, because I can tell they are sstarting to get uncomfortable, and then they relax immediately. I make sure to smile and nod when people talk to me, and I am good at looking fascinated with the subject even when I'm not, but for some reason all those things still can't get some people to be comfortable when I look them in the eye. I can also tell when people are looking me directly in the eye, and when they are looking at me between the eyes (a lot of public speakers suggest that if you can't look people in the eye, look between their eyes and it's almost the same thing).

Just thought this would be an interesting topic, because I didn't know until I read Linda's books that it was a trait of scorps at all. I never thought that of my eyes as being intense, and I thought that the eye contact thing was fairly normal. You know, just showing respect and confidence. I rarely look people in the face when I can't stand them.

Do you guys know what I'm talking about?

Sunny

The sexiest stares in the world comes from people with a strong scorpio, makes your legs shake! makes you think about nothing but sex. The best bedroom eyes are from scorpios, gotta love em for that.

I've found Scorp stares to be super sexy too!

On the flip side, my mom's a double Scorp. All she had to do was look at me in that special way to scare the sh@t out of me and make me stop whatever I was doing immediately.

The Scorp stare can penetrate right into your soul and stir up whatever emotions they want it to stir up... from my experience.

Ugh, sorry. I find that "Scorpion stare" way too creepy to be sexy. I guess it's my Pluto rising, cos it always makes me want to go, "What are you staring at?"

Like I've said time and time before - it's Pisces for me. Give me a man with that lost-in-the-cloud, daydreamy, lost puppy Pisces look, and I'm a puddle.

Haha Gemini Nymph, that's funny.

But what about the duration of the stares? Like the other post said that they aren't technically stares, just intense but brief eye contact and I always thought that it was a real stare that goes on until someone looks away first. Thoughts?

Yeah sometimes Pisces do look like they're on the verge of tears, but my own little secret, despite my aloof and brusque exterior, is that I love to cheer up people, especially guys I find attractive...and I'm particularly good at cheering up Pisces guys. They sense I can understand them and accept them, and there's often a kind of empathic/telepathic connection going on, cos of my moon. Pisces peeps love to laugh and make people laugh - I guess that why when I with a Pisces we're always laughing. Very sexy.

When I'm with a Scorpio, there's always this air of distrust between us. Not much laughing. No laughing isn't sexy.

As for duration of a stare - either a stare or a quick glimpse can get my Pluto rising energies reeved up. I myself am good at that "Evil Eye" thing that some people think is sexy. I don't get it - if I look at you like "Die! Die! Die!" how is that sexy? It must be some weird crosswiring through the 8th house I guess.

Sunny, have you ever seen two male bettas (Siamese fighting fish) act when they spot each other? That's how I feel when my eyes meet with that Scorpion stare/look/gaze - if I had fins and gills, they'd uncosciosuly flare out instanteously.

Stella Hyde in her Darkside Zodiac refers the Scorpion look as a "power-glare" because it overwhelms people so intensely.

I have been told a lot by men and women that I have pretty eyes. Im always suprised bc I dont find them to be that special. They're not dark and exotic like the decription of most scorpios, their actually light blue! My mom is an astrologer as well, and always told me I had a Pisces look about me.
I do tend to look people in the eye, and I love to be the "observer" . I guess that could be taken as staring! Sometimes I do sense that I am subconsciously intimidating to people when I talk to them.

I was bought up to look in the eyes of the person I am speaking to,like I am sure you guys were too.
BUT I have noticed that when I stare in thier eyes while I am or they are talking,I tend to stare into one eye only-irrespective of what their sign is.Is this a libra trait or is it just me?
Afterwards I wonder if they noticed that I stared at one eye of them.
What is that about?

I make a lot of eye contact. IMO, it's the only true way to understand a person. I insist upon eye contact from my kids... and those I babysit as well.

I try to make guesses at a person's sign too. But, I usually look at both eyes. Are you speaking of the thrid eye, Yang?

I dont think i am talking about the 3rd eye.
When I first look at a person's eyes while talking, I look at both but then suddenly I am focussing on one eye.My shift turns to whatever eye I am looking at.I also blink a bit when it starts to happen.

I fell in love with a Scorpio one day, right after I noticed how beautiful her eyes were... "Light blue like the morning blue sea" I would say, knowing in the back of my mind that sea could turn in to a raging storm anytime it wanted... As a Pisces I'm going to have to say, that I can see right through a Scorpio though. IT's Really Nice... to have somewhat of an advantage on the most powerful planet in the solar system. I mean I could never beat a Scorpio, but I can understand a Scorpio, that is what matters in the end... The Truth.

Her stare was inocent, but I knew every inch of that inocents was... shall I say, false? hmm.... there was a level of awearness in that "inocents" I'll leave it at that...

I try not to stare at people because I tend to unintentionally have an intense look that unnerves people, especially if I'm thinking or listening intently. Cheers to my Pluto rising - I might as well be a Scorpio. People say they feel like I can see their souls (well, sometimes it seems that I can!). I get a lot of compliments on my eyes because they are my most striking feature by far - intense, deeply set with thick dark lashes, and dark grey with a black outer rim that blends to light blue in the center with flecks of white around the pupil - it's like the multi-color of my eyes reflects my Pluto rising on the ASC oppo my Pisces moon on the DESC. LOL. Kinda cool.

Today, I was at a festival event in Portland (where I live) called "The Bite of Oregon"...it's a food-related festival with music, a lot of restaurants from around Oregon (mostly in the POrtland area)...and I saw this man, very good-looking, mind you, but the first thing I noticed were his eyes. They were deep brown almost black, but with a relaxed intensity that I said to myself: Scorpio eyes. Of course, I'll never know if he actually is a Scorp, but we stood in the same line at almost the same time and almost bumped into each other. I moved away, wanting to see the price list. When I looked back around for my friend, I looked right at him, and he was standing in another spot, but staring straight at me with interest (not that I minded, he was VERY good-looking). It was unnerving, but in a good kind of way. This guy has a very relaxed and non-threatening, sexy way of looking at you, even if it's unintentional. He HAS to be a Scorp!! It's the kind of look that makes me weak-kneed and sends those butterflies flitting in my stomach.

Scorps have a way of fascinating you with the way they look at you, which intrigues me. It's flattering. I've noticed that Scorpios have a very 'fixed' way of looking at you, almost a steely steadiness to their gaze.

I'm a people watcher anyways and look at people's eyes first.

i always keep constant eye contact, but i know it unnerves people so i try to look aroud a bit...but i loved it when i made a scorp nervous, he lost his composure for just a split second and his eyes kind of darted around but then he regained it and started looking normally again...it was cute

I make eye contact through an entire conversation. I get annoyed when someone is speaking to me and not looking me in the face at the very least, but I'd prefer eye contact. I find a person kinda shifty if they're looking all about - either shifty or totally not interested in talking.

I don't give anyone a particular look or stare, but I do appear engaged and interested. My father (Sag) taught me to look people in the eyes when you're talking with them. But when I'm trying to get information out of someone (that could be anything from "what do you want to do w/ this thing" to more serious issues), I probably do give that penetrating stare. I know I can express a lot through my eyes, all the while maintaining completely neutral facial expressions.

But I've never known Scorps to look away - unless momentarily distracted. In my experience, we're either engaged or we're not, if we are, we look you in the eyes, if we're not, we try to get away.

Wow, thanks for replying everyone! GeminiNymph, I have seen those fish, don't they usually kill each other? lol.

When I stare into another scorps eyes, I don't usually feel overpowered or anything, I'm just totally aware that they are staring right back at me and holding it. It's not that common for me, so I get a little surprised until I realize they are probably scorps too.

That takes a lot to make one of us nervous Moonat! Well, at least to make us show it when we don't want to.
