I understood what you were trying to say. I was just jokingly reminding all of us, myself included, that we really do a lot of presuming from time to time, even if we don't realize we're doing it. Hope I didn't offend you. ------------------

I don't know if this is true or not, but MY understanding of some of the history mentioned here is that Columbus (or whoever got to North America before him), went back to Spain and told the matriarch (a female head of a family or tribe) of his country he met amazing people he called Indios. He meant it as a compliment, "En Dios", meaning "with God" in Spanish.The word Indios then got homogeonized into a "snickering slang" word, "Indians", which, try as they may, was a petty attempt at breaking down the spirit of these peoples. Every race, culture, religion, creed, etc., ALWAYS has people who need to find someone they can think of as lower than themselves. Did you'all learn anything from the movie "Crash"????? As soon as you see someone playing that card, you know it comes from FEAR. Finito, period, bottom line... so go from there!! I love you all.

Hey, this is LLF under another name. Just in case you thought you'd won, let me tell you what happened after.I wrote my local Indian tribe, and told them I had been kicked off a board I had been on for years, for telling white people they were white. To my complete surprize, I was written back by the son of an honest-to-god Indian Chief. Not only that, he THANKED me for STANDING UP FOR HIS PEOPLE, against you lot of CULTURAL THIEVES, and told me he was IMPRESSED BY MY COURAGE... I am welcome to visit his reservation at any time. Here's a quote "Good on you for standing up to them... It is amazing how people react to truths isn’t it?" Imagine that, little 'ol me, noble defender of the Red Man. Don't bother to reply, I won't check back to hear your screams. It only took me this long because my IP had been banned. (Such injustices I am willing to suffer on behalf of my friendship with the Indian peoples.) Just wanted to rub your noses in it.  .... .... .... To make it clear, the REAL Indians love me, and you are all a bunch of stupid twinkies. Which brings us back to the title of this post. (((Stu-pida - Had always wondered how you get away with half the **** you do on here. Now I'm in on your little secret.)))

Oh yeah, you will check back under another screen name. You lied to the tribe that you wrote to when you told them that you told white people they were white. On this thread you did not tell white people they were white, you told Native Americans that they weren't Native Americans unless they carried a card that stated they were. If you had told the tribe the truth or let them see this thread I can guarantee you that you would have gotten either no reply and been dismissed as just another racial biggot or it would have been a much different reply than the one you claim that you got. Please do not insult Native Americans by saying that you are a defender of the "red man." Calling them "red man" is a biggoted, racial slur to the Native American people. Anyone who uses that term is hardly a defender of Native Americans. I am no defender of Pidaua but I just don't like what you say about those with Native American heritage. I assume you feel the same then about all racially mixed people? But judging from the statements and terms you use regarding Native Americans that are derogatory in nature I doubt seriously that you would say someone that is part white and part black was not black but white instead. A lot of people believe in the one drop rule(if you have any black in you,you are black),and a lot of blacks believe that too and they try to force their views on me. I am mixture of Black,White,Hispanic, Native American. Here is pic of me when I was 20 yrs old with my 37 yr old mother.

Mercury was last retrograde from 10/28 till yesterday
(and of course was retrograde also in March and July, but not during the August period which consumed so much of this thread....so that's not it)
I know you all don't know me yet but I have to admit that it was the title of this topic that drew my attention initially (the negativity astounded me) but now I know why it drew me to begin with! LOL
Linda Goodman is laughing for sure.
She is kicking back and laughing at the interaction of the various Signs and this thread has so gloriously demonstrated her old saying (I think it was from Star Signs - I'd have to go look it up) Anyhow, she wrote....
"If you mind it will matter" meaning that we have the ability to manifest our thoughts.
Thoughts are living things, energy, very powerful...yada, yada, yada
And this thread seems to perfectly demonstrate that if you 'think' people are Dumb, Dumb people will materialize......
If you 'think' about them shoving their personal agenda or in further conversations, racism's, in your face, people who want to shove their personal agenda or racism's in your face will materialize......
I'm not saying the content of the thread is laughable but the way it all materialized kind of is. Linda had a wonderful sense of humor and I know she's getting a kick out of the interactions here.

Let's have a little less abuse of each other on this thread. Louisianagirl, to get back to your original point...I know from experience there is no point in arguing with strongly religious people. However, if you don't like what your neighbour has to say on religion or feel that they are forcing it down your throat, EITHER: change the subject (ask a non-related question about a neighbourhood event, their family, etc.) OR: say, "Not today, thank you" or simply "I'm not interested" or "I don't want to talk about this with you and I think we should agree to differ, if that's all right with you". Sustained and assertive (NOT avoidant) disinterest will (hopefully, unless they are really crazy) get the message across better than arguing with them will. Hope this helps, Xena

I have no secrets- but it is sad that your hatred and racist nature have fed into a type of paranoia that you are exhibiting here.
In any case, you don't worry me. Nothing you do worries me because racists don't have much to offer in a majority of ways other than idle threats. I don't believe that you spoke with the son of a Chief. Had you actually received a letter from him you would not have called him the "honest to God son of an "Indian" Chief" as using the word "Indian" is offensive. Using the word "Red" to describe any American Indian is also offensive- but I guess you are still smarting from being put into your place for being so vile. You did not just insult me- you insulted everyone on this board by trying to ferret out those YOU felt had enough blood to be qualified as a Native American. You insulted people left and right based on their enthnicity and while doing it you used Racist terms. I would love the contact information of your "son of an Honest to God Tribal Chief" because I think he should see this ENTIRE thread. I would go so far and call him myself and explain what happened. Please provide us with his information so that we may discuss with him your Liberal use of the American Indian Racist terms. I'll bet you won't be laughing once he finishes with you- nor will you be welcome by his Tribe. PS... for someone that said for people not to post to her because you would not be back... I noticed that you edited out "Red Man". I wouldn't be surprized if you didn't do that throughout all your posts LOL....

Hi perhaps none of my business but seems to me as though Louisiana girl was just looking to wind people up with her comments and personal insults and maybe everyone should just do as one does with a naughty young child - ignore her silly rants. Although everyone is entitled to voice their opinions it looks as though she was just getting a kick out of annoying people.Either that or she seriously needs help as attention seeking is almost always a cry for help in some form or another. Venus, I don't think Louisianna girl was stirring or attention seeking in any way. There is nothing in her original post which suggests to me that this is what she was doing. I believe her when she says that she was just pointing out how dumb and narrow minded people can be. I don't think she was trying to rile people up, but it's a shame that some of the people on this thread have behaved so badly and proved her original point.I know this is none of my business either, but I wish to express my viewpoint anyway. I don't wish to cause offence in any way. However, it seems to me, that although everybody is entitled to their own personal opinion, some people are using that as an excuse to attack others - perhaps because of personal vendettas? All I know is that it's getting hard to tell who's expressing their true veiwpoint and who is spoiling for a fight. This thread has saddened me.  IP: Logged |
