My interpretations after each verse:

He also calls it new Jerusalem.
Jerusalem means New City. So he is speaking of an even newer looking "changed" Jerusalem..like nothing he has ever imagined before. A modern 21st. century city.
John was having an OBE. As he..not the city..was "coming down from God"=as he viewed he city from above.....

Again...he is the one descending..not the city. This is clear by the being taken away in the spirit...i.e.; an OBE.

The same thing as he previous interpretations of what he thought he saw.

This indicates to me that he was in an OBE state and was seeing the city...(which may or may not have been Jerusalem...but ANY major modern city) AT NIGHT...from overhead. Now be it from an overlook or from a plane...how do modern cities at nigh look from the air? Like jewels gleaming and glittering below in the darkness! Add to that the sodium vapor lights which make the streets appear as if they are made of gold...and there you have it...a primitive man seeing a vision of the future.
Even brightly lit city could appear in places as to be on fire to a person who does not understand electric lights. It would be like magic or of God to him.

And did he see fires or bright sodium vapor lights? In his primitive mind, they could look flame-like or as burning embers.
And as one can clearly see above, the streets to a mind that knows nothing of electricity, would appear as if paved with gold!

With so much talk of end times and misinterpretations by ancient and now modern so called seers,
taking it as read, assuming that the prophets and seers of the past knew what they had picked up.
Well that is not actually proven to be true.
I am bumping this to show there are other ways to look at these things.
When one gets a vision etc., one must endeavor, if they are going to tell, to tell what they got only,
NOT what they hope, think, or desire it to be. Report straight up only the vision etc.
But even then it can be tainted by preconceptions and imagination.
A Buddhist and a Christian for example may have the same exact Vision or dream, or channeling, whatever.
But if they allow their beliefs to flavor the experience, the same vision will in the retelling not be the same.
And again I point out, the ancient doomsayers and prophets were operating from a time before electricity,
planes, helicopters, and other things of our times. How could they possibly understand a vision of the future?
Be it a prophetic vision, a channeling, or a reading; be aware of what you actually got and not what you think or desire it to mean.
And to assume God is talking to you is ego loaded and usually grandiose delusional.
In the movie "The Messenger" Jean De Arc finds a sword in a field.
Her fantasies drive her to believing it is a sword that came down amidst angelic voices and clouds of glory,
just for her to fight her holy war.
As the messianic character tells her,(paraphrased) Jean, why do you lie? Jean goes on to emotionally insist
on her point of view while this character keeps telling her, no, no, and no Jean,
sometimes a sword is just a sword, and goes on to show her the other ways to explain the presence
of a sword laying in a field. Shades of Occam's Razor there! "K.I.S.S"!
My interpretations are my theoretical viewpoints and not proof either.
But I am attempting to view the old prophecies and visions logically, asking myself, but what else could it all be?

excellent observations, lexx, and would be corroborated by any experienced "remote viewer"...interpretation is almost always filtered through belief. so many "visions" have led people in the wrong direction, only to wind up exactly where they were running away from.IP: Logged |

Indeed.
Folks rarely tell what they got in dreams and visions, but instead what they "believe/think/extrapolate", instead of simply the what was seen.
With ancient prophecy it becomes even more inaccurate because not only would visions of the world in the future with electricity be unable to be understood, but also in the case of biblical prophecy;
they were seeing their visions from a point of view of their known world at the time of their visions.
That leaves out most of the world.
Those prophecies were in my pov intended for
people in the known world, ie; the "bible" lands, and their immediate neighbors.
Even Nostradamus quatrains are interpreted I feel incorrectly.

Two different translations....Two of several I have seen:

they are in French:

Some letter "f" in old French are actually
"s"...and the reverse. In bad handwriting such could look like "l" or "p"....and so forth.
So some of the troubles in translating him are his awful handwriting and the letters not the same as now.
Then add to that the thing of "J" and "H"...
also interchangeable.
It is near to impossible to decipher his writings by conventional means.
Those are just two of several translations.
Here is mine:

1999...is OK
But then add this: "AND" seven months....
Most people think that means in July...the seventh month....or August the month after the seventh month is over...so goes the "and" seventh....
BUT! The calendar was not ours! Now Look at the meaning of September:
Sept=SEVEN
Just as Oct=EIGHT.
So by this token we get:
In the year 1999 and after the Seventh Month(September) has passed...the great king of the Earth will come down from the sky...
And life will seem to return to this great king of the people of Mongolia/Siberia.
Afterwards the planet Mars will have its way and resist again being seen too closely.(The destroyed satellites).As for the Wooly Mammoth...
Well he was flown out of the ice...by the largest helicopter in the world....
And his giant tusks were hanging on the ice chunk as he flew suspended underneath the helicopter over the frozen and snowy tundra. This would seem like the great furred beast..was somehow brought back to life! Then the scientists also wondered if its DNA and all might still be viable. In many ways..it was brought back to life!
 
Now...think about this:
There you have a seer and his tripod and water bowl upon it. He knows nothing of helicopters...Wooly Mammoths or Satellites (two that crashed or were lost) going to and crashing mysteriously on Mars.
Also he usually says WAR for war not Mars...
He is sneaky that way...mixing Latin and Ancient French.....
So in that bowl...what terrors would he imagine as the huge monstrous "whirly bird thing with this many ton heavy and tusked hairy creature hanging underneath..so much noise....and the snowy tundra below with a view of the happy and excited scientists and workers jumping up and down with great enthusiasm below the flying spectacle...with other folks of Mongolian appearance and dress there also?
Now add to that the Mars satellites in a vision...and seeing Mars and then a flash of explosion..happen before and after the terror from the sky...or even confused thinking the three events were somehow intertwined.
In 1997, an entire mummified Woolly Mammoth was found in Siberian ice! It was removed in October, 1999 to a frigid, underground cave where it will be carefully studied. Scientists hope to be able to clone this remarkable specimen. NOTE: OCTOBER 1999...refer back to "and seven months...so after(and=after) September..Sept=seven....and there you have it! One lost on September 23rd.
And one lost on December 3rd.
One lost to MARS...before the airlifted wooly mammoth in the sky...
And another lost to MARS..after the wooly mammoth was airlifted! Seems pretty damn clear to me!!!!!!
Once you remember he was not a modern man..seeing modern things(terrible!) like a giant flying noisy monster!
And a unknown tusked bearing creature being carried by it...over the land of the Mongols.
Then anything about the PLANET Mars...would totally confuse him! How could he understand seeing two satellites crashing on Mars?!!!!!!
Add to that the close together time span of these three astounding events and poor Nostradamus must have been totally flabbergasted!
