... Lunar North Node is what I mean.

I've come to the conclusion that I do not like this aspect. I had it with only 2 people, so maybe I don't have enough experience with it, but so far it is disappointing. The story goes like this: I meet guy with Gemini Venus on my Gemini NN, average looking fellow, not the type I'd fall for, but he does or says or looks at me in a certain way and I am hooked. I become interested and there's this certainty that there is some deep affinity with the guy and we are meant to be (perhaps this is a good time to say that their Gemini Venus opposes my Moon and Neptune conjunction sitting happily on my South Node in Sagittarius). But for a while nothing happens because there are ethical issues and ethics score high on my book. Either my best friend is madly in love with the guy or he is already involved... with a married woman. These men came into my life during 2 very specific transits, which influenced my reaction to the situation. In the first case, there was Pluto (and Jupiter, for a while) in late Sagittarius who conjuncted my Moon and Neptune and made oppositions to my NN and his Venus. I went for it, got the guy, hell got loose and I got a third-degree burn on my heart. In the second case, Saturn in Virgo, on one hand, and Jupiter-Uranus in late Pisces/early Aries, on the other hand, all square those players, while Neptune and Chiron in Aquarius trine/sextile them. This time I didn't dare do anything. I'm sitting here in my manic-depression hoping and waiting. Naturally, this frustrates me a lot, because, like in the first case, there's just no winning for me. If I get the guy I'm the moral loser. If I don't get the guy I will always feel like I missed an important opportunity. Having someone's Venus on your NN should be big, right? Like birds and bees, rainbows and cloud No. 9. It certainly feels like that, like it holds potential for great things and this is why I can't let it go. However, putting this aspect in context, kind of changes my view on it.

Anyways, that is just my experience with this aspect, based on my unique chart and timed with my unique transits. I'd like to know other knowflakes' experiences with this wild-card aspect, if you are willing to share. I'd like to understand it better, in case, God help me, another late Gemini Venus wanders on my NN.

You are right, Izo, it seems like it would be perfect to have Venus on NN.
Does not make sense to me ,either.

They are here to teach us about love (and sensuality). Making us aware.
Noone ever said they would be around for a happy ending though.

IZO!!!! GIRL!!!, I know what you mean.

First of all, it doesn't matter if it's NN or SN, that Nodal Axis is a circle and forget all that Dragons or Snakes head and tail ish, the man (or woman) with Venus on your Nodal Axis will always feel like God personally introduced you to them and is saying to you - "I made this individual especially for you, my child. Go be fruitful and multiply with my permission."

The one man that I met who had Venus on my North Node looked like a pure Angel to me. He was 5 years younger than me and we only met up twice, but I swear that a CGI and Pixar crew followed him around because no matter where I saw him, even if he was standing a mile away, his eyes would twinkle and sparkle as if someone put perfect cartoon sparkles in his eyes. It actually got to the point where it pi$$ed me off, big time.

You know those lyrics, "He was too young to fall in love, and I was too young to know."

Anyway, I've been there. But I feel more sorry for YOU because of the Neptune that conjuncts your Nodal Axis, there will always be an extra added feeling of romance, fantasy and possible deception. However, one day God may take pity on you and turn that deception into INSPIRATION and/or artistry or just plain magic for you.

Hell, it's bad enough (great enough) when it's just Venus-Node, let alone Neptune getting into the act.

No wonder I love you so much, your Nodal Axis is conjunct my Venus/Jupiter midpoint.

Ami,
The guy I almost married had his Venus on my SN. It was the only time in my life when a guy made me stop thunderstrucked on the street looking at him as he passed me by. No eye contact, no words, no nothing. A total stranger on the street.

DD,
You are right. But this soulmate thingie is kind of unfair, don't you think?

Geo,
Thank you for making me laugh out loud.

Oh, it get's worse, no worries. Because you forgot about the Moon, which is ruler of my DC. Ruler of the 7th conjunct Neptune and SN is a guarantee for a screwed love life. ALL my relationships had *something* on my Nodes.
Venus/Jupiter midpoint is an important midpoint, right? Like a happy-go lucky midpoint? Wanna know where mine is? Hahahaha, it's gonna be good, I promise. I can't stop laughing. It's 29 Aquarius. Hahaha. More Neptune on me I met Bull (first case of NN-Venus) when Neptune squared my natal Venus, why should this surprise me?

No, seriously, this has got to stop. I want out. Soulmates with your alluring Venuses on my NN, leave me alone!

Ami,
Nice song, but in my heart I've always considered "Iris" from the Goo Goo Dolls as the ultimate Soulmate Node-Venus song.

And I don't want the world to see me
Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

Dang, Izo! I purposely didn't mention Moon, but now that you tell me it rules your DSC...well, the best I can tell you is that your life may actually be tied into the arts, aesthetics somehow. You might prominently displayed in this world as some kind of fantasy love object or something. I don't know, maybe you already know. Are you a musician or into theatre, film, art somehow and very public about it? Especially because Moon-Neptune conjuncts your Nodal Axis and with Moon ruling your DSC, there is something VERY public about your beauty or your art OR YOUR MOTHER being in that arena. What can you tell us?

Geo,
The only thing I can think of is my profession - I am a plastic surgeon. I've just entered this arena, but I can feel it suits me on lots of levels. How I got to pick it was pure karma, a chain of fated events leading me on this path.
You're really good, I love how you come up with very original interpretations. It would have never crossed my mind to think of my NN-Moon-Neptune in those terms. Would it be too much if I asked you to take a look at my chart and blow my mind some more?

I have this aspect in natal...
Venus - 00'01 Taurus, and NN - 00'06 Taurus.

It's probably the closest aspect in my chart. I love it personally. It makes it easier to learn Taurean lessons.

I also have it in synastry. He has NN in early Taurus (19 years older). He can be Virgonean sometimes. He has a lot of mercurial nervous energy (both Gemini & Virgo) - I think I help him unwind.
I have not hurt him in any way.

I think this aspect on its own is positive - but the Neptune opposition could alter things. It's possible these men saw an illusion - not the real you - when they fell in love. I have seen this kind of thing happen in Venus-Neptune opposition where the Venus person seriously over-idealizes Neptune and they seem to think Neptune is something next to a god or goddess. No mortal can live up to such idealized images.

I actually had this exact same aspect with my ex from 3 years ago....only I was the Gemini Venus and he was the gemini NN. Im not a very conceited person so please do not think I take smug comfort in the what I'm saying and keep in mind that this guy does have a Pisces moon. Anyways, after our conversation together... thought I was perfect, could do no wrong, he was head-over-heals, etc. Now all this time, I thought his over-idealism was due to the Venus-Neptune Square we shared...though maybe that just added to the strong feelings.

After about a month, I was hooked too...NGL. We were both watersuns and he also had a watermoon, so the compulsive quality of our relationship pretty much came with the territory. But when I tried to assert my Gemini Venus/Virgo Moon needs (like some personal space, seperate identity, time alone, etc.) I felt him become hurt. I'm not entirely sure how this link affected him, I'm just going by what I percieved. It couldn't have been comfortable for him though, even with his Sag Stellium, including his Jupiter that sat on his SN (or perhaps, that was a big part of the problem). Who knows? We broke up in 2007 and I haven't seen much of him since then. Though he did invade my dreams once last year after a Strawberry Daquiri.

A Psychic once told me he would be important in my life if I got to know him (this was before we made it official) and I guess he was/is in a way.

Hi Cynnared,

If a man's Venus falls within 4 degrees of your Nodal Axis YOU WILL KNOW IT!!

As for the aspect you have with your mother, it simply suggests that she had more than the average amount of maternal influence on you in terms of Venusian type things such as art or even how to keep a beautiful home, she may have influenced you in terms of finances or something having to do with beauty or social dynamics. Does any of this ring a bell?

Ami Ann, about the song -

Dy-na,
quote:
I think this aspect on its own is positive - but the Neptune opposition could alter things. It's possible these men saw an illusion - not the real you - when they fell in love. I have seen this kind of thing happen in Venus-Neptune opposition where the Venus person seriously over-idealizes Neptune and they seem to think Neptune is something next to a god or goddess. No mortal can live up to such idealized images.

I also think this aspect should be positive. Of course, like DD said, it's not a guarantee of success. Yes, Neptune muddies my romantic waters. But I am a bit unsure who does the idealization, because me being Neptune (and having natally my DC ruler conjunct it) I am naturally prone to idealization and self-deception, which is true with these men. On the other hand, the men in question are close to my age and their Neptune is natally in opposition to their Venus. They are also likely to put their woman on a pedestal. But I don't know if these 2 guys actually idealize ME. The first, the Bull, didn't see me clearly, that part is true. He made statements about me that I have no idea where he got them from and he made them with a scary conviction. With the second guy, the Leo, I'm still in the beginning stage and could not say how he sees me.
Having NN conj Venus in natal must be amazing! I also have Venus in Taurus, it's a good placement in my opinion.

Benedict,
I can relate to your story. I was Venus once, conjunct a guy's NN in Taurus. I think he felt the burn much more than I did. There was definitely a deep connection, also because our Ascendants were conjunct and his Moon-Neptune was on my Moon-Neptune, but I am sure the NN-Venus also played a big part. This was another guy that I spotted in a crowd. I guess this is a theme with this aspect. We didn't have a romantic relationship, even though he hinted on it and I also wanted it at some point. But I think he was the one who was more disappointed. I was free to do my thing, while he was sort of hooked on me.

Geo,
Will e-mail today.

If I stop and think more about my experience with this aspect, it seems like I lived almost all its varieties:

-my NN conj their Venus (with the Leo and the Bull described above)
-my Venus conj his NN
-my SN conj his Venus.

The only one I haven't experienced yet is my Venus on their SN (thank God?). I think I can draw some conclusions based on my experience:
-Venus-SN: the Venus person gets burned big time. I hurt my ex deeply when I left him because I outgrew the relationship.
-Venus-NN: I think the NN person is the one who puts more effort into it, the Venus person enjoys the serenade but doesn't experience the dramatic compulsion of the NN person.

I think either person can idealize.

But in the example I had in mind, it is definitely the Venus person doing the idealizing. They are under the impression the Neptune person is unique and exceptional, when they are actually just an average person from everyone else's perspective.

It does make a difference if they have Venus-Neptune opposite in natal - because that means they are used to the energy. Many people would have Neptune opposite their Venus.. so it could be that you didn't have this impact.
But at least with one of the guys, it sounds like you did.

Their Venus-Neptune oppositions are wide orbed (like 8-9 degrees). Some astrologers wouldn't consider them. Personally, I am pro wide orbs in natals. I think the opposition suits the Bull, not sure about the Leo yet. Having a relationship with a married woman is more of a Venus-Uranus thing, not a Venus-Neptune one, right? He doesn't have Venus-Uranus though...
I remember the Bull telling me he thought I was special and that he waited a long time for someone like me.
With the Leo... I FEEL that he likes me, that he has some sort of fondness for me, though he knows almost nothing about what kind of person I am. But that's it so far. We work together but up until recently we didn't have much contact. Lately, he's everywhere and we spent a lot of time together this last week. So now he's stuck on my brain.
If only T-Uranus square his Venus would push his married gf aside... Argh, there I go with the daydreaming wishful thinking!!
