So basically they're looking at each other like, what planet did you come from. But it can be intriguing and add an element of surprise in both natal and synastry.
If you're talking about neighboring signs in synastry, then that's common because theyll likely have venus or merc in the others sun sign.

Sometimes I wish I had a ton of Virgo or Scorpio so that my threads wouldnt be so obnoxiously long.

What were the questions?
Ruler of the 1st being in Sag in the 7th makes me a number of things. The 7th house focuses on others over self. Having Sag there makes my interaction either humorous or deep. The 7th corresponding to Libra may contribute to my enjoyment of justice, which makes Sag a great companion sign. It (as well as the Venus conjunction; Venus also being conjunct Neptune) also gives me an artistic bent.
