Koi,You love Bad Girls! Ha, that's hilarious. I always see the commercials for that show on Logo, but i've never watched it. I'm a Queer As Folk junkie though. I've given it some serious, serious thought lately, and i am 132% positive sure that i was a gay man in a past life. Do you watch The L Word??? IP: Logged |

PA,Yes, i have been here more recently. Perhaps that's because it's summer and i'm off from school? Or maybe it is the transferring thing. I SOOOO excited to switch schools. Where i'm about to go is a much, much bigger University- and much more my speed (it's in the heart of the city). How's YOUR studying going? I noticed you mentioned being busy with school- they're not beating you down with assignments are they? Just give me the word if they are- i know some people... IP: Logged |

metaI'm really glad that you like the pace of your new school. I understand that. We moved from the city to a country town and I still operate at city pace, so I understand that. For me, it's about stimulation. When things are slow, it's draining. I'm really enjoying school. Yes, I think I'll take you up on your offer and have some matters "taken care of" re: WAY TOO MANY ASSIGNMENTS. What's up with that! And why are all assignments from all classes always due on the same day??? IP: Logged |

There's kids in my town, not yet 10, who seem to get shifted from school to school under threat of expulsion. Off they go, where they will be someone else's problem. It doesn't seem to address their emotional needs. Half the time, so it seems to me, the parents are doing their very best, they are just in a difficult situation. A bit more support would be nice, and here I'm not just talking educational authorities, I mean the community in general, as well. It's naive to think the children don't get affected by their father not wanting anything to do with them, for one example. It's not good for the self esteem. Then they get shunted around between schools, just to add to the feeling of rejection. Letting that out this morning, to no-one in particular. IP: Logged |

I've seen this too BM. Many children sadly. There's a child in my son's class that has done the rounds of all the schools in town. We know him from our last school and I know his history where he's been shuffled between different foster homes on a daily basis (and that's literally the truth). He's now with his grandmother. There have been times he's passed our house on the way to school and we've walked with him and he's been quite open about his parents and their drug addiction and their inability to look after him. He's on Ritolin (excuse the spelling if it's incorrect) now. I've heard parents at school b1tch about him and his behaviour. They don't know the past and the sadness behind his story. I don't divulge. I treat what he's told me with discretion. I defend him without giving details, and it p1sses me off that people are such arseholes. He's a child, who needs help. He's seen and experienced things that you wouldn't wish upon anyone. I'm grateful that he's finally at a school that won't give up on him. He's a single case in many that I've seen. We've said it before, but compassion goes a long way. I have no tolerance for snobbery. I have less understanding for lack of basic humanity. I'm not asking for people to act like the Dalai Lama, just show some basic human decency. IP: Logged |

Just logically, you would summise that if astrology, etc, are "bad" that we would be deemed "bad" people for believing and liking them. Don't think that's the case. All this societal bu11shit that makes people drift away from any sense of what's right for them and into the path of guilt based on the ridiculous beliefs of other people infuriates me. I'm all for each to their own, but when it makes people guilty about what comes natural or is right for them then........... Rant over. IP: Logged |

There's a cultural arrogance is assuming one version of religious experience is the summation of what GOD is or a defininition of moral behaviour. Though it is a waste of time pointing this out, still I went ahead anyway. Is it my Taurus Mercury? or maybe it is my idealist first house first degree Jupiter/Neptune?

p.s On the thread in question there were some suspicous logical goalpost shifts. I do think that if zodiac symbols are etched in lead on a pulpit, it is unlikely that the priest will start a lengthy sermon on the evils of astrology. It's also unlikely he will base his sermon on the subtleties of T-Square configurations but the basic infererence remains. I'm refering to this as an example of zodiac art in English churches:- http://www.paradoxplace.com/Photo%20Pages/UK/Britain_South_and_West/Romney%20Marshes/St_Augustine_Brookland/St_Augustine.htm IP: Logged |

I think that Taurus Merc of yours is marked and expressed by a certain, highly intelligent, defiance. I enjoy it. It cuts through a lot of bu11shit.I think of you as quite a romantic. The way I see it/you is that you see beauty in really lovely, maybe even simple, things that other people may not even notice. What you said the other day about the old couple holdings hands and seeing each other as beautiful/youthful - that was really beautiful. I loved that. And it was absolutely on the mark. You know I'm a fan of irony. Zodiac fonts/figures in a church really covers it for me. I was curious about the timing. Think the Becket information is interesting. Sherlock Einstein?! Makes me think that it looks like somewhere I could call home for some reason. IP: Logged |

The sheelanagig's as made famous by PJ Harvey are another interesting pecularity of English Church art. The Lezzo contingent will like this as it is all about fannies. http://www.sheelanagig.org/ And thanks, Peace. It's true, I'm neither thick nor a fan of B.S. I am also a staunch believer that true romance can be found in offbeat places that will outshine Brangelina quite significantly.
