An unaspected Uranus which Pdf has is a prodigy .
He is totally unique, totally his own person.
A unaspected Uranus is the rarest of unaspected planets just as he is rarest of individuals.
That is my opinion.

So, Ami. Do you feel it was a loss to lindaland to lose PDF as a member?

Acts done in the heat of the moment are still accountable for. Perhaps, it will get a lesser sentence in the case of murder, but that's about it. I find your entire concept to be a democracy and such is nothing more than "mob rule." It's like 100 wolves and 10 sheep voting on what's for dinner.

I agree with that quote and will further expand on the analogy. If someone comes to my house, even though we have been friends for quite awhile, and offends me to the point that I no longer want any contact with them, should I then hold a jury type forum of our peers in order to see if they are allowed in my house? He11 no. I have the right (it is my house and my life) to decide I no longer want that person as a guest or a friend. The same is true for a webmaster. This is Randall's site and while he has admitted to making mistakes and asking people back, he also has the right to ban people that are continuously going against the rules.

As for the jury. That sounds great in theory, however in the justice system there is a process called voir dire where prospective jury members are vetted for personal bias or association with the defendant. How would we possibly do that here? Anyone can go back and read the previous posts, get information on the person and then, based on peer pressure (and it does exist in the form of online cliques) decide to make a decision based not on facts or objectivity but on personal feelings and popularity. What would the appeals process be for the person that felt slighted or wrongly banned by their peers?

I, like other people, find this continued drama to be a bit exhausting. I can change that by not reading the threads that turn from a Happy B-day thread, into a rehash of all the perceived and actual wrongs done to any members for as long as this site has been in existence.

As to the constant and tired argument of freespeech in relation to this site I have one sentence "Asked and Answered" Randall has explained this a million times. WE have the choice to stay or to leave or to just take a break. Is LL a regime? I don't see it that way but I do see it as another entity that has rules. We have rules in our every day life and online that we must abide by or suffer the consequence. If I call a cop a stupid, pig and flip him / her off, I can get hauled in for my actions. If I am in class and I use my freespeech to call my professor a total moron, I can get kicked out of class.

Where in the world are people getting the idea that being online and on someone's site is any different?

Kat, it's not like that at all. No one will ever be banned on heresay. Heresay is part of the problem we had here a little while back, with people believing things about myself with no corroboration, so I promise you that is not a problem. Any crazy person can rant and rave about someone they don't like, but that holds no credence with me. And the leadership here isn't a popularity contest. Sure, I choose Mods I feel like I can trust. But people don't get banned for me not liking them. I don't like everyone here, but as in real life, you have to try to get along with people you don't click with, especially in the workplace.

For Ami,

There are several women here who have displayed immediate demonstrations of "The Stockholm Syndrome" when in communication with PDF. Even before you joined this website, he's had exchanges with new female posters that were immediately demeaning to them strictly based on their identifying themselves as female, under the guise of humor.

One woman who was new here posted her chart to ask questions about a relationship she was in and PDF immediately called her a "piece". She was from a culture that didn't understand that he was simply referring to her with a derogatory word for a part of a woman's anatomy. I confronted him about it and he immediately stopped. I don't know if anyone around here has ever confronted him with his behavior since then, maybe it would have given him an opportunity to learn. Perhaps that would help instead of constantly assuming that he's joking. I don't know where he learned that kind of "joking" but I can say for myself that I was very disturbed by it.

Let me say that I'd also be just as disturbed if there was a woman here who was joking in the same manner about men.

That reaction is called: The Stockholm Syndrome!!

It's very real, and very dangerous.

I have nothing else of substance to add to this conversation. Seeing as there is an unhealthy dynamic going on between two adults here on Lindaland.

However, a warning:

I will continue on with the Boob thread, if provoked. Don't make me do it.

actually, being shot down in flames and sent out with a bang and lots of boobs seems fitting for pdf, i have to think he would approve...

What did one saggy boob say to the other saggy boob? If we don't get some support soon, people will start thinking we're nuts!

ok, i know that one is old...

A woman sitting at a bar says to the barman, "Barfender, I'd like a marhini for my heartburn." The barman mixes her drink and puts in down in front of her.

A few minutes later, she calls him over and says, "Barfender, I'd like a marhini for my heartburn." He rolls his eyes but mixes her drink anyway and sets it down in front of her.

A few minutes later, she waves him over again and says, "Barfender, I'd like a marhini for my heartburn."

The barman looks her up and down and says, "First off, it's bartender, not barfender. Second off, it's martini, not marhini. And third, you don't have heartburn, your boob is in the ashtray."
