You're surprised that you posted a thread about homophobia and it exploded?

THAT'S surprising. By now that should be expected.

Honestly when I see guys freaking out About homosexuality makes me wonder. I think many men are closeted or repressed. Or they did have a bad experience... My condolences. With u padre I wonder, it's like chill it's not like gay men go around raping you.
I remember you reacted kinda funny to idea of anything homoromantic. Like two guys can't be in an embrace with out it being something... Because if you were straight it would not be anything many cultures say otherwise.
Ime the guys who are the most offended by the idea are the ones most likely to seek you out at some point.

So this is very amusing to me, psychology is funny like that.

Hmm, of course, that is known as projection Kero, "anyone who does not agree must secretly be.."

Not at all, that is sort of a defense mechanism, for example, want taxes raised on the wealthy..u must be "X"

Gays, lesbians, cross dressers/transgendered, do not offend me, what does offend me is there is no Truth being told. If you've read my opinions over time, you know I see Trads the same way.

What i base that on is not sexuality, rather quality of character, and non trads run the gamut same as everyone else. What does bother me is the same nuclear family stuff they buy into is the same i see crumbling around us all..yet they are buying the fairy tale.

Tsk tsk

I knew a girl here in Tennessee who was told by her parents that she was "going to hell" because she married a black man. Go to Alabama or Mississippi and tell me how "traditional/religious" people treat you.

Good point!!

Truman Capote was born gay, according to his biography, showing tendencies as a baby, and nobody ever objected, a phenomena for the era in which he was born. There's a biographical movie of his life, by PBS (I think it's PBS but can't remember).

Dogs - it's not sexual. Look it up. They hump people's legs too. So I suppose now it's common for boy dogs to have a leg fetish. And why don't girl dogs do it? Look it up man... It's to show dominance. It's not sexual.

As for being in a relationship. Two races is not acceptable in SOME religions, but none that I've heard of around here or where I've been. Those are some extremists. If you all have to go there then I don't really even care.
Two... God says what judgement you cast will be brought back against you. So I guess we are busted. Oh no, you got me. I'm totally going to change all my views now. I'm such a hypocrite.
Bahahahaha!!
No I'm not changing my view.. Bite me.

The WHOLE point of the old testament was to show us that we can't be perfect. (the 10 commandments) The new testament shows how we can be accepted anyway.
I'm curious how many gay people are believers?

Kero- don't be stupid. I don't find men attractive in the sliiiiiiightest. Never never NEVER will. I've had my opportunities. Two different gay men tried and were harassing about it. One while I was married even.
Most don't, but once in a while they'll try. I leave lesbians alone so what's the problem? lol

OK OK... I don't want to get sucked back in. YTA is right... Its going right back down the crapper.
Retaliate against my post... Say whatever. Oh... Do your very best to make me look like a fool. I'll be right over here believing what I believe. But I don't need to argue with anyone anymore.

It was the dog thing for me. I couldn't live with myself knowing that that kind of ignorance is out there.

Actually, animals are often gay. Penguins are some of the most frequent ones, they often form male couples (penguins mate for life) and steal other penguins' eggs or use rocks as a substitute, and are even able to successfully foster the eggs they steal. Ducks are often also gay. Chimpanzees. Lions. Brown Bears. Elephants. Dragonflies. These are just some of the more than 1500 species where homosexuality has been substantially documented.

Do you know where to find these documents?

There are many reasons that this can happen. Also, it's said that dolphins are the only other creature who have sex for pleasure.
There are male "teams" in nature. But it's for the purposes of survival, etc.

I do know where to find it, but unfortunately I don't have time right now. I have 5000 words due Monday on the effects of ignorance (my choice of topic) in war. So I'm a little busy right now. I might as well have addressed homosexuality in this regard, but instead I chose war which (in general terms) I think is only slightly more important.

I will tell you though, that the kind of arguments that you are using here show an alarmingly low level of integrative complexity, which means that you are largely unable to access other people's perspective. It is reflected in statements such as "whatever you say is never ever ever going to change how I think/believe/feel", "how I think/believe/feel does not impact anyone else". In addition to this, you (and many others on this thread) largely adhere to stereotypical descriptions and reference either to scripture or tradition. This shows inflexibility, unwillingness to compromise, and inability to comprehend "the Other". This is the kind of stuff that wars are made of (on an international level, obviously, but also where there is inter-communal violence and protracted conflict).

Interesting point of fact, did you know liberals are cognitively more complex than conservatives? The least complex are;

Extreme Right
Then Extreme Left
Then Moderate Right
And finally the most complex are the Moderate Left.

If you want to have a look on the research that goes into homosexuality in animals though, I would start off on JSTOR or plain old wikipedia. They may not always be factually correct, but they are argumentatively balanced and do contain allot of references that you can look into.

There is also the following article as a good starting point; http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/06/090616122106.htm

If you do not want people to address your highly controversial and intolerant opinions, don't voice them.
