23, it's got more impact when unexpected like this.

That's why I'm trying to minimise use of it but then there's provocateurs on here.

BUT it's even more funny because of this and this is what made me put the picture up:

quote:
DURAN DURAN star JOHN TAYLOR has hit out at pop superstar MADONNA, accusing her of copying their collaboration with JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE and superproducer TIMBALAND.
Madonna teamed up with the hitmaking duo to record songs for her new album Hard Candy, and her single 4 Minutes - featuring the pair - has become a chart topper across the world.
But bassist Taylor claims the Holiday singer stole the idea for the duet from the 1980s rockers, after Duran Duran joined Timberlake and Timbaland in the studio for their 2007 album Red Carpet Massacre.
However, he insists he isn't surprised: "It wouldn't be the first time Madonna's copied us. She's been doing it for years."

Stillatlarge - her Virgo ASC is a blessing for her, it will keep her young and she looks ok.

As for other people's opinions, each to their own. Maybe it is just caused by media saturation as well as people having a long memory for her antics in the 80s and 90s. I haven't forgotten them.

By the way, I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that she has children and she is responsible for them. She has to tone it down, I think she would be worried maybe what her kids might think of her if she went all out raunchy like she did and what they think of her activities before she had kids.

stillatlarge, you are getting well worked up about people having different opinions about a pop star...isn't this thread about a woman who married a man 10 years younger than herself and can't keep him interested enough to suit her ego? with her money i'm sure she can also find an 18 year old. don't know how old you are but there comes a time in most peoples' lives when 18 year olds are BORING!! being "past it" isn't always a matter of not being able to keep (it) up, more a matter of been there, done that, what would i want to do it over for!!

you want equality, look then at marianne faithfull, sexy still at 61 - but fat with it! and yes, jagger still has more energy than madonna and he is 15 years older than she is, and PLENTY of people are suggesting he hang it up! not that he cares, nor would he ever divorce a woman because she didn't send him flowers for valentines day...madonna can f*** ducks for all i care, but great though her shape is, i would like to see her come up with something a little more indicative of 50 years of life experience. i don't want to see her dressing like the queen, or even like diane keaton, but if she's going to make the effort to keep young and keep up, then let's see something NEW...

The more I think about it, the surer I am she is Aqua rising.

I wouldn't trust the hospital records in this case.

I think "emotard" would be an entertaining backlash to emo music. Lyrics about plastic flowers on Valentine's Day and neglected broken ribs.

Suggestion for song content: perhaps something about him barbequing the ribs and covering them in sauce.

or:

She can't smell the flowers
because they're fake
all she wants to eat is fish
and he'd kill for a steak.

Her bones are broken
and he's at the pub
She's all sore
and acting like a big bub.

So now they're divorcing
and she's doing A-Rod
cause Guy just turned 40
and she's still got a hot bod.

Once they were happy
but that was a long time ago
now she just needs us to love her
because she has a big ego.

Emotard eh? Does that just mean wearing spandex leotard while dancing to emo? Ah, that aint pretty, you don't want to see that!

Or is it like the next "vogue"? You know like - "strike a 'tard". I can see that hitting the clubs big time. The music starts and everyone stands around looking at each other diconnected and silent. Hot!

Digressing a little here (as is my tendency) ~ a couple of weeks ago Colin Farrell was on T.V answering a question about Dame Eileen Atkins, describing her as a very attractive woman in particular praising her wit.

This is because it she made public (with his permission) the fact that he pursued her for her favours.

2 Geminis, born 42 years apart, appreciating wit and intelligence more than phsyical appearance. I get that, being a Gem myself ~ a plain one, married to someone who likes a woman to be sharp of wit.

The picture is from this newspaper article, where she made some interesting comments (I'm not saying I agree, I'm just reporting):

quote:

She told the Radio Times: "My skin crawls when I see laddish women presenting television shows who almost slap their thighs as if they're in panto.

"I think 'Stop. This isn't what we meant by feminism.' It's gone completely wrong. Women think they can have a fantastic career and four children, and knock themselves out trying to do it all."

PA,
lmao. And it has to be sung in a monotonous, emotionless voice.

The 'tard comes from retard, as in Emotional Retard. I don't know if they use that term in Australia, but in the US "tard" is sometimes used by kids (or immature adults) as an insult to call someone dumb. So your "strike a tard" line gave me an awful mental image of someone slapping JT in that picture 23 posts.

Oh, I have to apologise for using the initials J.T out of their true context.

Growing up in the Midlands in the 80s there was Duran Duran fever to the max.

Also, at that time, us schoolgirls used to say: Britain is run by women, the Queen and Mrs Thatcher.

Not that I am a Mrs T fan. She just couldn't cut it on the female empowerment stakes. O.K so she ran a country leading it in combat, but she looked rubbish in leotard and she never waved her f@nny on T.V.

Well, if she wanted to use this image for a political campaign, she could say something like

Vote for Thatch, waving her snatch.

I think it could take off. Wouldn't you vote for that?

I see a career in politics for me. Hmm - could work out.

You shouldn't have...... but I'm glad you did. I fail to see what this has to do with Madonna and Guy. Or even with emotional retard, but hey, who cares? It's Colin. Any excuse will do.

ROFL.

Does that mean that Mads has a chance in politics?

Or is that taking the whole method acting and Evita role a bit too far?

It's a digression.

But I'll admit I get impatient when Madonna bangs on about empowering women. By showing how we can all look good wearing leotards at 50? WOW. It just doesn't wash.

Not the leotard. I'm sure someone washes that for her.

Yes, well, as you know - I have no aversion to going off thread. In fact, it's somewhat of a speciality. But as this is your thread - you are the Queen here - so you can take it wherever you like. Would some gratuitous posts of Christian Bale be appropriate?

Umm, isn't dressing to get the attention of a man and being seen as sexy taking us back about 100 years instead of forward?

That comment is sure to upset a few people, but sorry, I tend to agree with you. Even explained away as sexual empowerment, it is still a woman waving her baps about for attention. She's not standing on a podium talking about economic policy.

Some of the comments on TMZ are quite interesting. There's a few people are saying that a woman with Madonna's intelligence and business brain could have achieved so much more to make the world better for woman than to wave her box around on stage.
