bm quote: That comment is sure to upset a few people, but sorry, I tend to agree with you. Even explained away as sexual empowerment, it is still a woman waving her baps about for attention. She's not standing on a podium talking about economic policy.
I suppose it may upset people. But I think the only people who will be upset by it are the ones who emulate that behaviour and attitude. No matter which way you look at it - you've summed it up brilliantly (as always) - "it is still a woman waving her baps about for attention". PRECISELY. A self-empowered woman doesn't need a) the attention and b) the approval. IP: Logged |

Didn't upset me. I agree. Usually if you want to avoid controversy, you don't dress in such a way that will get a reaction. That's a basic fact even for us girls that are not famous. Everyone says that it's a woman's right to dress as she pleases and they're right but you can't deny that flesh suggests something to men or at least that what they will be thinking. PA - I just don't get it Why? Why is it funny? From what Jane said, it just looks like he's an idiot in it. Gee, I wonder what he would think if he saw all this?? IP: Logged |

23Re: the JT pic I think it's the unpredictability factor - it just pops up and is there before you unexpectedly. And that he looks so totally absurd. It's hysterical. Maybe you're just far enough removed from it to get it. You know? It really is hilarious! IP: Logged |

Oh, absolutely agreed. After nearly 30 years in the business - what is Madonna known for? Mostly for turning 50. Is anyone talking about the music? No! IP: Logged |

With the greatest of respect, simply because two of you don't agree with other people doesn't mean that we are vultures. We've got a right to an opinion. I've got a right not to agree with you if I don't. IP: Logged |

Yes... an opinion is one thing; judging is a whole different ball game. Are crows vultures now? IP: Logged |

Opinion = Judgment. We've got a right to judge as an individual if she fits into our own personal taste. I don't agree with how you want to always shut down someone when you don't agree, you shout them down. IP: Logged |

I would really love to hear from the guys at LL as to their opinions of Madonna and her sexuality. I think that would be really interesting to get the male take on her.IP: Logged |

And anyway, we've really strayed of astrology so maybe we shouldn't be talking on this thread anymore anyway. It's a bit like the Obama-McCain-Palin threads now. IP: Logged |

That's a reflection of our general society. Just because something is popular doesn't make it viable or good. Look at Paris Hilton. It's called marketing. Madonna has a talent for selling herself. Good for her. She's not to my taste. IP: Logged |
