Yeah, I didn't learn that the Apprentice was on last night until it was almost over. I had been watching the hockey game. I saw that the men did better.Yeah, I thought I heard something about Big Brother being on this spring. Figured it was probably a writers strike thing. You ever think about trying to get on that show? I'm not a fan of Deal or No Deal. 1 vs. 100 is cool. The Power of 10 is pretty cool. I only watched Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader twice. It's just too embarrassing to watch my fellow adults get slaughtered by those kids. I don't generally enter contests either, but I have a hard time resisting the Dream House. IP: Logged |

We are broooothers and we'll always loooove each otheeeeeeer and you'll always be in my hearrrrrrt Simon really IS the man. (oh and Paula and what'shisname "Dog" are ok too...) I also know who I'm voting for in the presidential elections, so all in all it was an action packed evening. IP: Logged |

Wow! My improv class started up again last night, so I only caught the last half hour or so of American Idol. Fortunately, I did see: We are broooothers and we'll always loooove each otheeeeeeer and you'll always be in my hearrrrrrt He was sweet in his own way. I am surprised you found your candidate last night. Good for you! I need to let the campaign simmer a bit. IP: Logged |

Yeah, my candidate is a teenage American Idol contestant, so don't worry I'm too far ahead of you. You missed the first half. They let two people have tickets to Hollywood that can't sing, so next year the weirdos are going to be coming in super swarms. The politician kid is a sweetie though. Simon decided to vote for a couple people because he "liked" them to teach Randy and Paula a lesson and Randy went ahead and voted the politician kid through just to be that way to Simon. Simon also voted for a girl who had half of her face melted off in a car accident or something, she was bright and sunny and she was a great singer, but not up to American Idol standards, but he decided to vote for her (because he "liked" her he kept saying over and over) and Paula couldn't say no then because of her soft heart. I'm not sure they actually GOT the lesson he was trying to teach them, but I can see the non-singer contestants with a "story" multiplying next year.

What's up with Simon having a heart all of a sudden? Seems alien.IP: Logged |

He doesn't... that's the lesson. He's trying to show them how people get through who aren't quality singers because those two "like" them. And you know "America". If they let a William Hung type through they'll all vote for him until he's "the next American Idol". That cute sort of sense of humor. "cuz yer my broooooooooother" He just chose people to vote for that he knew Paula or Randy would have a hard time saying no to. IP: Logged |

I'm also referring to his toning down his criticism, and you know giving the, "You are my brother, my best friend forever," guy a hug.IP: Logged |

Oh yeah, duh, you are right. I don't think any of that is due to growing a heart though. He always has shown favoritism to people who showed him the proper worship. The gentle comments are probably because the balance shifted a little too far to people talking about how mean he was and they started to worry about lawsuits with people killing themselves or something practical to production like that. Oh, that sucks. I've been participating in a class Tuesday nights, so I missed the BB opener. But now there's not going to be a class Tuesday nights, so ... I don't know... may have to negotiate with the girlfriend, because she definitely likes American Idol. I suppose I could skip this BB. I imagine there will be another one in summer.I was shocked that Tennessee-boy got through on American Idol after pulling that stunt getting rid of the band. Simon's offered more grace this season already than he probably has in all the previous seasons combined. I'm not sure that I like that. IP: Logged |

Ok, so David Archuleta tonight...wow! He's pretty goofy when he talks, but boy can he sing.It struck me that I've heard him twice sing Libra's songs. I've missed a few weeks, but I remember his initial audition was him singing John Mayer's Waiting For the World to Change. Randy volunteered background vocals for that. Tonight he sang John Lennon's Imagine (pretty incredible version if you missed it). So I wonder if he's got a heavy air influence. I'll be interested to see if he keeps the Air influence up. Maybe some Sting. Of course, maybe he has a thing for Johns. IP: Logged |

AG, my favorite is Bon Jovi David but that little guy is beyond amazing. I also like long-haired dred locks hippi guy. Very mellow. I can't wait to look at the videos! I missed part of last night so now I can experience the entire song. Thanks!

Bon Jovi David...doesn't ring a bell. (I don't know the names yet. I only know Archuleta's because there's a very cool Pisces at my work with that last name.) Was that the first rocker, with the blond hair and beard? He got slammed last night by the judges not only after his performance, but there were also jabs made at him after other people's performances.I thought, oh, here's a last name I know: Hernandez. I remember his last name, because he looks more Italian than Hispanic. Anyway, he did awesome with his Papa Was A Rolling Stone. Agreed with the judges on his performance. Chikizie or however you spell it was also good, and his personality really shown through in his banter with Simon. I would have liked to see him dressed nicer (even despite whatever issue there was with his suit last week). My favorite song selection last night was Killer Queen, though the singer could have been better. I was surprised no rocker went for broke on some Zeppelin. Oh wait! Zeppelin probably wasn't an option. I can't imagine them [Zeppelin] allowing their music on Idol. IP: Logged |

Not the blond rocker, the other who sang Jovi really well at audition. His last name is Cook or Co something else. His hair is sort of weird, I don't know how to describe him, he played a guitar last night! They sent my favorite girl home the first night. %$#!@%@$@!!! A boy will win this year. Ok, here's David COOK (Bon Jovi David ) his voice is SO good. (There were like 4 David's or something in the top 24.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaZuvPjI-FA&feature=related
I can't find whatever song he did last night. Here is Bryan Adams from Hollywood week. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGDTtlbXOgI&feature=related Ok, victorious search! Here's last night! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gRx85IiEQs I've never especially liked that last song, but I like it more now. Interesting lyrics IP: Logged |

The judges were nice to him last night. I wouldn't have been so kind. I caught him screwing himself up by doing some little solo thing on his guitar, and I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned. I thought his look was terrible, too. You are so much more the rocker than me. The gender of our Sun signs are really apparent where music is concerned. IP: Logged |

heheI didn't notice his "look", though I just watched the video again with Rosie. If you can sing AND play guitar at the same time, you are tops in my book so any little whoops is overlooked. I noticed what you noticed the first night too. I like "live" and non-produced sound. I think that's why Simon hates rockers. Not fake enough for his overly produced taste.

hehe The happy hippi girl does Carley Simon, it's good. She sings WITH a guitar She was my other favorite. So, I suppose that makes her my female favorite now that my first favorite is out. I can't stand that rocker chick's song choices. Her hair is icky too. I like the voices of a couple other girls but I still think the Idol will be a guy this year. IP: Logged |

David Cook... my American Idol favorite since the beginning http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkyO67ZU61U There's only one man in the Universe so far who can make my heart go pitterpat more than David Cook. I swear he's winking at me...
Here is tonight's performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pp4Prf2TuS0
My favorite female contestant at this time... Syesha's song tonight was powerful. Capricorn woman <3 I like her because she usually sings the Whitney. I especially liked her performance tonight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pnu7LCMFIVk
