Welcome! I've postponed "introducing" myself because I've been more doom and gloom as of late than anything else-- a phase that I'm hoping to snap out of soon! To the Knowflakes who have only recently met me I'd like only to say, "Wait! There's more!" So I'll begin by throwing out some random factoids about myself-- happy thoughts only. Let's go for 10, shall we? 1) My favorite soft drinks are Coca-Cola, hot chocolate, and iced tea. 2) I actively seek excuses to wear a sombrero-- I always celebrate Cinco de Mayo. 3) When I was a young girl living in Germany I made many salamander friends in a magic well near my home. 4) I totally rock a hoodie. 5) The people I am most in awe of are college professors. I get a huge thrill seeing them in their robes at graduation ceremonies. No explanation because I don't have one. 6) My favorite television channel is HGTV. 7) I've never worn a toga but would like to. But now it's been built up so much that the occasion would have to be truly spectacular. 8) On my fifth birthday I wished the Smurfs would come. My mom convinced me to tell her my wish (which goes against all wishing rules, as everyone knows.) The Smurfs did not come and I never had any doubt as to why. 9) I almost never cry for sentimental reasons, but dance recitals and grade school plays do me in. I don't even have to know any of the children involved. 10) I do cartwheels periodically just to make sure I still can. Now that you're here, say hello, and don't forget to leave an oddball fact about yourself behind. One more thing-- I'm all out of sparkle and wit for the time being. If I come across as murky bear with me-- I'm working on turning this car around!

Hi future!! Add me to the list of people who sob uncontrollably at gradeschool/middleschool plays and functions A few months ago my son's class put on Wizard of Oz. The (Judy Garland) movie leaves me in a puddle, so you can imagine what a troupe of 6th graders with clear little voices did to me -- a lot of giggling and tears at the same moment IP: Logged |

My house, my rules. You guys are supposed to leave an oddball fact behind when you go. Hi AG! No need to keep it short. I'll just grab a cup of hot chocolate with whippy-cream. (I call it that for fun.) IP: Logged |

Oddball fact: Did you that you could have someone from India call you everyday to remind you not to speed? Not that you would ever need that service, but perhaps it's a good thing to know that such a service exists should you need something similar. (Leave it to a Capricorn to find an all-inclusive outsourcing site, huh? ) IP: Logged |

Hello future uncertain! Very nice to meet you! Not so much oddball fact as story: A couple of winters ago I was feeling very upset in the middle of the night (my cat had died) and I got up to go to the loo (outside in the garden). As I was sitting there getting more upset the loo-seat slipped as it was not fixed on properly, so I put my hand out to steady myself and instead of touching a very cold breeze-block wall, I touched what felt like the forearm of a human being - warm skin. There's no room to swing a cat in that lav, let alone fitting in another person. Needless to say that I was extremely unnerved. I screamed the place down and I am not a screamer by nature. I don't know what it was to this day. The End IP: Logged |

OK, wheels-- I've tried to keep the conversation polite, but Saggi curiosity is totally killing me at this point and now I must know-- are you telling us you have an outhouse? Please do tell me about your bathroom facilities. I'm fascinated! (And also sorry if I've crossed into impolite territory-- but I don't mind if you don't!)IP: Logged |

Yep, I had an outhouse which I feel is sort of the right place for the bathroom to be. Flushed by rainwater which was quite cool. I'm not in that place anymore and now I have a composting toilet which are also great and don't smell at all. Any other bog-related questions feel free to ask! hahahaIP: Logged |
