Thank you, Lexxy I am feeling a bit disgruntled because my grandma is ill and everyone (family) kept it from me. Instead they were just asking me to visit because she misses me instead of being honest. It's been a rough week emotionally which affected me physically as well. It's getting a bit better though. Just needed time to work through those feelings and think about things. I've realised that focusing on the negative will only make matters worse. My grandma has played a significant role in my life. She's still here and being morbid about her illness and expecting the worst takes away from enjoying the fact that I can still communicate with her. She should also know how much we love and cherish her. It can be hard to support a loved one and not feel what their feeling when they're feeling very down on themselves and what they're going through. I think that just means you're being very empathetic as well as sympathetic when it gets to you like that. It's good that she's made peace with it that makes a huge difference. But yeah, focusing on the bad parts skews your perception and sometimes you don't realize just how bleak your view is until you step back.
