Hrmm, well that is good to know. Thanks for telling me that. When I'm feeling less lazy I'll do it, but I recall seeing a lot of aspects to my mars in pisces when I did that. I also saw that the orb is 5 degrees so I'll take that into account too.

are you referring to heliocentric Mars?

also if you use the nodes of the minor planets, try using around a 3 degree orb

actually I think that a 3 degree orb would be fine with the dwarf planets/candidates (Pluto,Eris,Makemake,Haumea,Sedna,Orcus,Ceres,Quaoar,Varuna,Ixion

and 1 degree orb for the smaller objects like all the asteroids except Ceres, all the centaurs, and all the transneptunians that aren't dwarf planets/candidates

of course, the smaller the orb, the stronger the influence

The following is from Thom Hartman's The Edison Gene: ADHD and Gift Of The Hunter

Chapter 16

SPIRITUALITY AND THE EDISON-GENE CHILD

The introduction
pages 205 to 206

Relation is the essence of everything that exists.
MEISTER ECKHART

It's been my observation that people with non-mainsteam brains seem to be drawn to non-mainstream religions, ranging from fundamentalist movements to meditativ practices to a fervent commitment to the belief system of atheism. This seems particularly true of Edison-gene people.

Perhaps it's because they've felt like outsiders their entire lives, and many of the people who attend the "middle of the road" churches, synagogues, mosques, and temples are the stable and steady "farmers" who've excluded or outperformed them in other venues such as school (the farmers, after all, represent more than three quarters of all humans). Or maybe they crave stimulation to be found in intense worship or meditative activities or have a stronger need for the unique sense of tribe or community that exists in such places. Or perhaps, because Edison-gene people tend to focus more strongly on what interests them, they tend to seek privately where their interest lies. Or perhaps religions have always ended up representing the cultures that have given rise to them, so that hierachical, male-dominated agricultural cultures have produced hierarchical religions with a male god, whereas egalitarian hunter cultures have produced religions that emphasize more an individual's personal spiritual experience and diminish the role of priests and institutional structures--a religious context more comfortable for Edison-gene people. (Most well-known commentators on this, from Maria Gimbutas and Riane Eisler to Daniel Quinn, have suggested that agricultural cultures will always endup both hierarchical and male-dominated; for further on why, I recommend their books to you.)

Whatever the reason, being aware that Edison-gene children are spiritually-drawn in this way can be useful. Such children are more likely to find solace in religion. For the Edison-gene people I've known over the years, spirituality tends to be intensely personal and experience-based, often including a wide variety of religious institutions and philosophies and even the use of ethnogens. For Edison-gene teenagers and children, however, this can present difficulties. Because they're more likely to experiment and seek their religious experiences in unconventional venues, they're more at risk for coming under the influence of destructive cults (those organizations demanding complete compliance with doctrine, practices, and authority) or for abusing drugs. Even within conventional religions, they tend to be drawn to the intense experience-based fundamentalist or fringe sects and denominations.

EDISON-GENE MYSTICS
pages 206 to 207

The arena of religion known as mysticism is one to which I've found many Edison-gene people are drawn. Mystics, who may come from any religious denomination, are those who have experienced a direct and profound connection with the divine or spiritual, often quite separate from any formal religious institution. St. Francis of Assisi, St. John of the Cross, and the German monk Meister Eckhart are three mystics from the Christian tradition. The most famous Muslim mystic is Rumi; in Judaism, it's arguably the Baal Shem Tov. The most famous Hindu mystic known to Americans is probably Paramahansa Yogananda, autho of Autobiography of a Yogi, the swami who first brought Hinduism to the United States in the 1930's.

Mystics are different from the mainstream religious in that they speak of personal spiritual experience as being of the greatest consequence. They speak of their personal transformation as coming from a direct connection to Jesus, God, Allah, Krishna, Hashem, or, in Buddism, from stepping beyond the beyond into real of pure knowing.

Among tribal peoples--particularly hunter tribes--mysticism is part of life. Many tribes use ethnogens--plants that open doors into other worlds--to achieve their connection to the beyond. For example, peyote is used by some Native American tribes of the southwest and Mexico, and hallucinogenic mushrooms are detoxified through reindeer kidneys are have been used by the tribal people of Norway, who cultivated the mushrooms in reindeer grazing areas. More commonly, rituals involving dance, chanting, prayer, meditation, or sweating are used to alter states of awareness and lead to higher levels of spiritual consciousness.

WHEN ACCESS TO PERSONAL SPIRITUALITY IS LOST
pages 222 to 224

Our Edison-gene children don't have the luxury of growing up in a culture like that of the Sng'oi and instead are bashed and bruised by the lack of fit between their neurology and demands of our culture--particularly in school. The National Institute on Drug Abuse points out that this lack of fit, in part, is why nearly three quarters of all American teenagers have tried illegal drugs by the time they graduate from high school, and in any given month, at least one fifth of all teenagers have taken an illegal drug. Additionally, numerous studies indicate that those children diagnosed with ADHD or other neurological differences are more likely than others to be among those who regularly use drugs.
What are these children trying to achieve?

Back in the 1950s, in an early version of the theory of multiple intelligences, Harvard psychology professor and researcher Dr. Timothy Leary developed on the concept of the "eight-circuit" brain: Each part of the brain, he suggested, has its own unique intelligence, and as each intelligence is exercised or grows, it influences all the others in synergestic ways. Leary's definitions were rather lengthy and academic, but Antero Alli, author of Angel Tech, redefined these "eight interactive functions of intelligence" as "physical, emotional, conceptual, social, sensory, psychic, mythic/imaginative, and spiritual intelligences.

While hunter cultures train their young in each of these areas, our television-and school-driven culture focuses almost exclusively on conceptual and social intelligences. This seems to have caused us to lose some essential part of our connection to the web of humanness, a connection that perhaps our teenagers are trying to find through experimenting with drugs.

In his book, Heart of the Hunter, the famous South African writer Laurens van der Post tells a fascinating story. Because it reminded him of his time among the Sng'oi, Wolff summarized it very elegantly for me: "Van der Post and his hunting party are staying deep in the Kalahari with a small group of Bushmen," Wolff wrote. He continued:

One day they take a few hunters with them to find some meat. They drive 12 miles or so and shoot an eland, which is a very special animal for the Bushmen. They load the eland on their Land Rover...and van der Post says to Dabe [one of the Bushmen] that the women will be surprised when they come home with so much meat.
Dabe looks at him with astonishment. "But they already know," he says. And sure enough, when they get back to the women and old people, they have the fires ready and are dancing and singing because they are eating eland.

After summarizing the story, Wolff wrote that this was very much like his experience with the Sng'oi, adding: Thom, we lost so much when we chose machines!"

Its those losses, the cultural and spiritual disconnection from the hunter roots of our culture and our once-daily interactions with the natural world, that have led so many of our Edison-gene children into the world of drug abuse.

One way many Edison-gene children and adults find their way back to "tribe" and respect for all creation is through the intense experience of personal mysticism or fundamentalist religions that emphasize a personal connection to spirit. When these are found in the context of a religion familiar to the family, the possibility of the need for intense expression leading to involvement with a cult or another dangerous outlet is minimized. Every religion has mystical roots and most have mystical components that are still very much alive.

mochai- wow I'd be scared if I heard that. Honestly I am scared of the Illuminati but I'm not sure if I am scared as much as disgusted. I don't know about the whole Reptilian thing, I've heard about it in bits and pieces but it made me feel really sick so I stopped reading about it. Ever since I was young I would have reoccurring dreams that I was being chased by the devil. I don't remember seeing him, maybe hearing him once or twice but just always knowing he was there. The last recent dream I had was a bit creepy. I don't remember it much except that some demon came into my dream and I think that I understood that this wasn't really part of my dream so I start praying while I was asleep in this semi-conscious state and once I repeated the prayer for a little bit it went away and I feel back asleep.

A priest once told me that the devil chases those with good hearts, or good spirits, I'm not sure how it translates into english. I told him I must have a big heart because it seems that he always chases me.

Sorry if this info seems pointless. I suppose I just wanted to offer some comfort in some way. I hope they leave you alone soon. Ask your bf to pray for you, that might help.

It's sounds like you're having a tough time and my heart really goes out to you.

Aww thank-you littlecloud. It's alright. I regrettably chose this life the way it is now. My last life was hard too. My boyfriend probably has already prayed for me many times. He has a good heart.

Honestly it doesn't really bother me too much. In the hardest of hearts there is good and vice versa. Fearing it is not the answer. All evil comes back to the light eventually. I'd feel worse for someone who had a weaker disposition placed in the same circumstance.

These things have egos too. The thing I'm planning on getting rid of is highly aware of this and is trying to be much nicer. 90% of the time he complains about food because I don't feed him enough fear. I think he's emaciated.

Glaucus, I was referring to heliocentric mars. Thanks for the orbs!

Wonderful info Glac...I have never heard of the Edison gene before! Myself, and my kids all did the drug thing at a young age...I always wondered why we were so drawn to them, and 'escaping' reality...

Fortunately, for all of us, we all grew out of it at a young age...actually I was pretty bad until probably 25 or 26...after I started having my kids...never to the point of overdosing, or suicidal reasons...never jail, or hurting anyone though, other than myself by taking them...

Both of my boys have tried killing themselves at 16 years...on the same medication, when they had a bad reaction to it...which is something you saw in Matt's chart...

I am going to look more into this gene...both my side, and their fathers side has/had a large amount of alcoholics especially...I have been becoming aware of the 'gifts' that most of these family members had, or have...

We have lost 3 family members since 2005 to alcohol related injuries and illnesses, their father this past June....and I almost lost my daughter a few years back to an alcohol related accident..

Can you tell by looking at one's natal? If so, does this look like the chart of an Edison gene 'kid'? Thank you so much Glac!

Wow Glaucus perfect timing! I have vesta biquintile neptune - I believe besides actually looking at the genetics this makes me an edison gene child - only i outperformed kids at school, only failing in college, slightly, as i refused to integrate intot he fraternity system.

I also have had nature speak to me, as well as christ, as well as the divine feminine, all these have spoken to me on a personal level - i've almost fallen out of traditional religion, and several cult leaders have tried to incorporate me, however I was too strong for them thanks to my earthly vitality which they envied and caused their own downfall===I already knew this would happen, as they disintegrated in my dreams as I resisted their charms. I was competely passive...as christ conciousness informed me to be. At first I did not know that they were evil until i discovered that none of them trusted me or gave me the benefit of the doubt, when i trusted all of them first hand, without question....I learned my lesson, trust but learn to tell the signs of a syccophant.

BTW are we going to argue all day about who thinks glaucus is awsome and who said it first?

I posted about Edison Gene,DRD4 7R gene
in this thread already.
I don't know if you know that already.

I posted January 24, 2011 04:05 PM

What Thom Hartmann is referring to as the Edison Gene is the DRD4 7R allele which is a gene strongly connected to novelty seeking and is said to be found in approximately half of ADHD cases. It's a spontaneous genetic mutation that appeared between 10,000 and 40,000 years ago. It is said to be an advantageous mutation that helped humans thrive and survive. It seems to confirm Thom Hartmann's theory that ADHD traits and Hunter traits are one and the same.
DRD4 7R gene is a dopamine gene. ADHDers are said to have unusual levels of dopamine.

page 4 - 5 THE EDISON GENE ADHD And The Gift Of The Hunter Child by Thom Hartmann

What exactly defines those bearing this genetic makeup? Edison-gene children and adults are by nature

Enthusiastic
Creative
Disorganized
Non-linear in their thinking (they leap to new conclusions or observations)
Innovative
Easily distracted (or,to put it differently, easily attracted to new stimuli)
Capable of extraordinary hyperfocus
Understanding of what it means to be an "outsider"
Determined
Eccentric
Easily Bored
Impulsive
Entrepreneurial
Energetic

All of these qualities lead them to be natural:

Explorers
Inventors
Discoverers
Leaders

I also believe that the Edison-gene children and adults can be good at things that involve anything that involves thinking outside the box, creativity, art, athletics, sports, being an entrepreneur, intuitive healing arts, metaphysical sciences like Astrology, anything that is nontraditional, computers, electronics, massage, acting, and show business.

Thom Hartmann points out that those carrying the gene often find themselves in environments where they're coerced, threatened,or shoehorned into a classroom or job that doesn't fit. He said when Edison-gene children can have great emotional and spiritual wounding when they aren't recognized for their gifts but instead are told that they're disordered, broken,or failures. He points that the wounding can bring all sorts of problems for children, for the adults they grow into, and for our society.

He and many scientists, educators, physicians, and therapists believe that when these unique children don't succeed in public schools,it's often because of a disconnect between them---their brains are wired to make them brilliant inventors and entrepreneurs--and our schools, which are set up for children whose brains are wired to make them good workers in the structured environments of a factory of office cubicle.

I think that there are a lot of things factor in the life of an ADHDer,Edison Gene person like nurturing, upbringing, and the environment that they are in. That includes the domestic environment and the school environment. Support, love, and care is very important for neurodivergent children so they can grow up to be secure and believe in themselves. If they are abused in any kind of way and treated like they are stupid,incompetent,damaged,and/or defective(especially get placed in special education programs with the mentally retarded or being medicated), they can grow to be insecure and have low self esteem because their ultrasensitivity can make them highly vulnerable, susceptible to being strongly impacted by negativity.

I was posted in regards to ADHD which is one of the neurodivergent conditions which I believed to be reflected by both a strong outerplanet influence and strong transneptunian influence

You would have to get some type of genetic testing to see if you have the DRD4 7R allele

And yes Glac, I am fully aware that you posted about the Edison gene, which is why I made the comment about not hearing of it before...this chart is of another who always had ADHD symptoms, like the other you started to look at...I was just wondering if you could see 'hints' of it in a natal chart...I thought perhaps if I knew what I was looking for, I could help my daughter out with the kids, so she doesn't have to go thru the hell I went through...

Thanks for showing me a chart that is easier to read for you and others Glac...perhaps that is the reason why when others have asked to see a chart they never responded again?...lol

Very true and good point. Well I'm glad that you are not one of those people. In which case I'm happy you aren't afraid therefore making it easier for yourself to free yourself from this being.
