Ceri, I think the top looks very flattering on you. It's nice to see that you're feeling more comfortable and wanting to experiment with fashion styles. You look great!

I think it would be perfect for a Renaissance Festival, a costume/Halloween party, a night out with friends for a concert or a play. To me it does have a theatrical vibe to it, and I personally would not consider it as an everyday look. For someone to say this looks like lingerie is absurd! It's just not really a daytime, going to the grocery store look, just like a wearing a ball gown would look a bit out of place in that environment. I think that there is a time and place to wear this top, but it is certainly not trampy or making you look like a prostitute. I find it funny that someone would think that, especially because I'm very reserved in how I dress...I have an 8th house Venus conjunct Saturn in Libra.

Also, there is nothing wrong with buying things that you normally wouldn't wear out. Even though I've been single for a while, I still buy sexy lingerie and wear it at home and to bed. It's not for anyone to see but me, and there's nothing wrong with that! When I was with my ex, sometimes I would wear a sexy dress to have dinner and drinks at home. He loved it, but I usually don't dress really sexy to go out because I don't like drawing sexual attention to myself. Not from strangers anyway, I get more attention than I'm comfortable with as it is.

So Ceri, even if you never wear something out of the house, if it makes you feel good and confident then treat yourself. It doesn't have to be for anyone else's approval or enjoyment.

Well, it's weird to me that you equate sexuality with being fashion forward.

Also, I've never stepped foot in L.A. in my life, except to board a plane.
Also never been to NYC, in all honesty.

There are other cities, lol.

I don't understand your logic. She doesn't live where you do (in all likelihood). So why apply your local views?

No, you didn't just give an opinion and you didn't just cast your opinions on her.
This is beyond an opinion.

"You guys are going to have her out here getting approached by Johns. DONT WEAR THIS OUTSIDE THE HOUSE!"

I asked for opinions. You gave an opinion.
Personally I found the way you reacted surprisingly vehement and don`t really understand the vehemence, and find your asessment narrowminded and inaccurate (just my opinion of course) . But it is your opinion, and
also, while I do not share it at all, it`s probably good you spoke up, cause it reminded me that people are different, have different perspectives, and yes, there might be some, seeing me in this outfit, sharing your view, and I realized that THAT is really what I fear (not that some man could ask me how much I charge lol; but the judgementalism of other people, which is more likely anyway).

I can't help but add that my story is similar to Ceri's in the fact that the only time I was approached by some random guy and asked if I was "looking for a date" was when I was wearing a perfectly normal, relatively modest outfit.

Long, flowing skirt and a sweater. Not see through, not particularly tight at all, very normal.

Ohhh...edit.
Yeah, there was one other time, when I was wearing my normal gear of black boots, fishnets, and a red vintage coat, and some guys stopped me and thought they were going to get something from me.

They were from a large but conservative city in Texas.
(i.e., not Austin, lol.)

@Ceri

Did you even ask for opinions?

I don't see any request for opinions.

I thought the conversation could have gone in many different directions, starting with your own intro to the topic.

I never dress Plutonian even though I have a Venus-Pluto conjunction in helio. I guess I haven't found the Real Me yet, and thank God, because my Sag Venus loves being carefree and non-Plutonian!

Once I dressed as Super Goth for Halloween, wearing all form-fitting black, including a Superman shirt that was black with a silver S. Black nails and very dark lipstick, and a friend did temporary black dye on my hair. A bunch of goth rings. One of my guy friends thought this was hilarious, he said, and took a lot of pictures...found out later he fell in love with me that night and always wanted to see "her" again.

But no, Sag Venus low rise jeans and oversize sweaters reclaimed me fast....

Ever since i saw that clip of you i imagine you with a hippie style hehe. You have (i still think (?)) the long beautiful hair for it hehe. And i have said it before but damn you look soooo much like Alanis morissette, even the way you talked was a little similar to her. Do you sing like her to? hehehe

Faith, you and Violets make me really wish to see you two in those outfits.

I understand the enormous attraction to jeans and oversize sweaters (and everything that is convenient and comfortable, like pjs lol).

Violets if I remember correctly, you once posted a picture of a girl dressed in some sort of rockabilly style, with leather jacket, red plaid shirt and sunglasses. I love it. And the one you posted on the 1st page of this thread too.

I should have said that guy loved my COSTUME, not me. To be more accurate.

Dreaminess, thanks. Alanis and I have an almost exact ASC conjunction, if my rectification is correct. Yes my hair is still long.

I haven't looked at your pics from page 1 yet...

@muddy

I don't have the outfit anymore

I rarely wanted to show off my figure when I was younger...didn't want guys looking at me. Then when I did wear flattering clothes, the reaction was, "WOW why don't you always dress like that??" which made me want to hide under a rock forever. Moon square Mars I guess? But I'm going off topic...

I think I don't look like her, aside from the long face, hair, and smile maybe...but thank you, because I'd rather look like her than me!

My ASC 7 Leo, hers 8 Leo. All our angles are conjunct and then we have generational planets conjunct in the same houses.

You're so pretty and I do LOVE the lipstick, and the hat is funky! I love when people get creative with how they dress.

I love that look, too. I don't know if I have many pictures of myself when I dressed that way, although I think that my family (and scattered friends) probably do.

It was before digital cameras became common, lol.
Yes, I remember that picture!

I know, right?
Now I know that you resemble Alannis Morisette, so that gives me some idea, sort of.
