My partner has moon in cancer in the 2nd house and he has history of depending on me and others financially (well women in his life).

Moon sesquisquare mars and uranus.
Moon square saturn.
Moon trine mercury.

There is a huge anxiety around 2nd house stuff that freezes him, his anxiety is his worse enemy. Add that he has a Pisces/Virgo interception which I feel makes him unrealistic about how to pursue his hopes and dreams and too idealistic, finds it hard to adapt to the world as it operates (e.g. at least to when it relates to earning a living).

Its the Pisces that picks up the energy underneath. And worse still that when in the 8th, its the "ugly" feelings that are readily picked up; hurt, vulnerability, shame, frustration etc.

It is also the Pisces that is sensitive to others energy. I am the same (Cancer). I self protect (square Mars).

The inability to be open emotionally is definitely Sat/Plu in aspect to Moon. Its a very "be strong" combined energy.

Tr Pluto is quindecile his Moon in the 2nd (165 degrees). I am pushing him a lot lately to become financially independent. His instinct is to not push his comfort zone and stay were it feels familiar and safe IMO (moon in cancer). He has a lot of negative experiences that hold him back and with his great emotional memory of moon in cancer this can be a big barrier.

I feel unstable when I am in touch with my emotions. It's a curse and gift. I get high intensity and sometimes I cannot handle it.

I go out and spend for comfort or explore a random place out of my home. I love to listen to music, sing, dance to music but not in front of people -- I am horrible at it. Just privately. Save me faces.

I like to paint too. Not the artistic kind. Just painting stuff like my drawer, nails, pots, etc. It's soothing.

Another thing, I notice in every photo as toddler, I am holding a stuff animal. I still have one by my bed and I am too old for that.

Watch that Sun ruling the 12th for wanting to "merge" seamlessly with what you do. Especially since your Sun is in "work ego" Virgo.

This house cusp also influences changes (12) in career outlook because you are looking to strongly identify(Leo)with the chosen profession.

To Gem, keeping a bit of mystery can be appealing. As the idea of people knowing the Gemini as a "flat" 3 dimensional human being can be boring to them too.

Oh he TRIES and he does self-start and can be hard working but also not consistent but his "dream" is to have his own business and be self-employed and wants me to fund that and I can't, I am the provider and I am not rich, I have enough on my plate financially so I tell him to get a job and save and invest in that business he wants so bad, I am often spending stuff on him he wants and I am really not in a position to and have stopped, he has many ideas he wants to make a reality but also like you said about the mars thing (the emphasis on loss and giving up if things are too easy or hard, he loves a challenge for sure and sometimes is unrealistic about what he can achieve IMO) and its unrealistic to expect me to fund his dreams, he has to do what everyone else has to do which is to start from the bottom and work their way up, you would think his sun conjunct saturn would get that but his IC in Leo perhaps is stronger (refuses to grow up).
