Pixi and Mirage

I am so, so, SO sorry you have had bad experiences with nurses.

I am so ashamed for my peers.

Perhaps a local thing?

I am in San Antonio, where we are quite a mixed culture and all applies.

Like I said, I have never known nurses to behave in such a terrible manner.

These folks do not deserve to be "nurses."

(hangs head)

I bear the burden of hurt (Pisces sun) each and every day I work and I do it willingly, and in MY opinion IF a nurse is not willing to do so.,

hang em...

Thank you both so much for raising my awareness!

Silly Pisces soul loves all and just wants peace...in a terrible world.

blessins! ya' all!

Dropping in a moment whilst he is trying to cope with pain and rest.
No he was not treated badly for mental illness.
His previous suicidal history was not mentioned by us.
The bad treatment was because they would not explain things no matter how much we asked.
They did finally talk to him but he is doped up and they should have been talking to me.
So we have very little explanation as to what was/is what, the treatments, the numerous scans and labs and x-rays.
Pretty much in the dark.
SENT HIM HOME WITHOUT INSULIN ETC. OR TRAINING FOR ME TO HELP with shots or what to expect.
Were told to search "Google".:/
We are flying in the dark here.
The main rudeness happened when we refused to pick a religion to go on their forms and the chart etc.
They finally treated him better.
I am a very heavy, auburn/white haired green eyed wearing usually black from head to toe,
no makeup, no bra, no jewelry, mustached and bearded, with a shepherd's hook for my cane.
I freak the crucifix wearers out just by being myself.:/
Too many in the medical field do not like people who want to know what is going on.

We need more nurses like hippichick
I have known a few fabulous doctors, like the surgeon who removed a huge tumor from my ex#2's face.
And then did some serious surgery on my current husband for ruptured tonsils with freakish over growths.
The surgeon told us that it wasthe worse case of tonsils he had ever witnessed in his career.
The usually 15 minute operation took instead 1 hour and 45 minutes.
My husband required extensive reconstructive plastic surgery on his throat and soft palate.
The doctor and staff were absolutely wonderful!
He explained everything beautifully and talked with me not down to me like I was some idiot.
He even came out during the surgery to update me personally on the complications encountered.
So not all in the medical field are bad.
When I gave birth,
the midwives were great!
When my son broke his leg,
that doctor was another wonderful doctor orthopedic surgeon.
Of course they were not at the hospital in this county/state.
OK,
got to go.

awwww!

Hugs to you and he, hon!

Funny, I gravitate to folks like you all..

I must again, like I did, apoligize for the folks in my profession who are not "professionals..."

I love quirky folks.

Had a hufffer (posted earlier) and she and I hit it off...

Why?

Cause I feel her, I feel her pain and I do not judge.

(silly Pisces sun )

PLEASE let me know if you need help!

LOve ye!

I must go for now but wanted to thank you muchly again for all your help and kindness.
Tomorrow will be a hard day talking with social services and others to get some help because we cannot afford all this, meds, and the other pending tests ordered too.
They wanted to put him on the insulin your recommended, Lantus I think.
However we cannot afford it.
Going to talk with people tomorrow.
No meter yet and no insulin, and so he is missing, and will miss a few shots.

Hey, WOW hippichick!!

You DO know medicine well, don't you!! {{{ }}} You know it from the insider's battle to being the nurse to all those families (in ICU, 13 yrs at that!!)-- Are you having some sort of an anniversary right now revolving around all this?

You've been the witness (and healer) at the side of many devastations and death-life miracles. Wow! With you being Pisces you're pretty in-tune with the presence of spirits?

Has your daughter ever written down her memories-- the little small episodes, or stories? Has she ever drawn or done artwork to represent what she "saw" or what it was like?

If she hasn't already, she could do some 'abstracts' (written and drawn), that could be fleshed out in later life-- maybe a children's book? She could just take her time and do outlines, sketch out whatever she remembers, and other memories could flow later. Pottery?

Did you have interesting dreams or premonitions---? What you went through was life at it's "real" moments!!! {{another hug!!}}

(Oh... questions, questions, questions!! )

We are very happy for your husband and you for his now being out of the ICU. And we also hope that he did not suffer any of the delirium known as ICU psychosis.

BTW, for everyne here who does not know what ICU psychosis is, you should look it up, and/or learn what we are hoping to do about it as seen here... .

Love, Jackie (and Yale)

Hi Mirage!

No, no anniversiers

I graduated from nursing school when Uranus was transiting my crazy tight stellium in Aqua, opposing himself and kicking off my 3 t squares and squaring my Scorpio asc.

My daughter takes it all in stride. She has never written or documented her rememberances.

She is an Aqua and a force to be reckoned with.

There is this thing nobody in the medical community will speak of called "pump head."

It seems all patients who have on cardio-pulmonary bypass during open heart surgery all suffer some sort of mental deficites.

I began to research it, cause I am sure she has some sort of behavior issue from this siutation and the medical community is finally talking about it!

They are finding with the kids, who have lived into adulthood, there is a very high percentage of emotional/behavior issues from, partly the brain having be affected while on the heart-lung machine and the brain having to develope with compromised oxygenation, inutero and after birth until the big repair has been. It seems to not affect the quality of life nor intelligence, but a behavior thing.

I love to be around when somebody passes, it is such an amazing experience, more natural to me than birth.

Macabre, I suppose, but it is so very peaceful, not crying (by the patient anyway) and gasping for breath as when a babe is born, but a very peaceful going home.

The folks I deal with are hanging on by a soul's toe anyway, their soul is no, so no longer fully attached to the human body, so there is no dramatic shift of energy.

Sometimes I feel "something" come for them, but most of the time, something has been hanging around for a while anyway to ensure their passing.

I loathe for people to be alone when they pass, and sometimes it happens. I always tell them it is ok to go...

I also dislike leaving an oxygen mask on in the final moments. IF I can get to them at just the right time, I will remove it.

I love my job, but someday I am going to have to figure out something else to do that is not so stressful and sometimes physically taxing.

What we deal with, the negative emotions, death, despair of family's is so hard. In the ICU it can be very mentally challenging as well.

Docs only write orders and give us orders over the phone when we need it, but it is we that have to "manage" the situation.

IF only folks knew that the high powered drugs we deal with can kill somebody in an instant if not handled properly.

A unit clerk picked up a bag of potassium the other day, He was looking at it, reading it and I told him, you know that is the death row drug...he looked at me all wide-eyed...yea, potassium which we give all of the time IV can kill ya on the spot.

Thank you for your interest!

blessins!

t~
