I'm not at all surprised that the main culprits have not taken an inkling of responsibility for the role they played in that forum.

Neither am I.
The culprits do it all over LL.
Worse in some ways when it is mods,
or mods who condone and or encourage the misbehavior, especially if the culprits are their buddies.
Makes it harder on we mods who do try to enforce the rules of LL.

Redscorp/something excellent et al.

To blame me, a mod, for your or others rule breaking , is simply ridiculous. What are we supposed to do, take your keyboard away?? IF I had my druthers, some would be banned already but that is not my call. I do exactly what I have the authority to do. Beyond that, shame on you for blaming lax mods.

Act responsible and mature and the Mods won`t need to ride your back.

Randall, are there legal reasons for why "mature topics" are not allowed, or is it just outside your vision of LL?

A thought regarding sexually explicit material on linda-goodman:

No sexual prommiscuity.It short ciruits your soul. No unnatural sexual union-- and don`t pretend you don`t know why. Any behavior in opposition to to Natures laws is the enemy of the natural processes of physical immortality. No pornography. It sets up images that block the discovery of your own Twin Self, through the law of magnetic attraction.

It would be fantastic if there was a mods only forum where all the mods can gather and participate. It may cut down a lot of unpleasantries and miscommunication that spins off LL as well.

Oh?

As long as mods stay unbiased, civil and try to rise above their petty selves (in general), methinks it's a very useful tool to have.

There is one at facebook;
but I found it too often a place where mods who hate me could get away with being as nasty as they desired.
Hence;
for now no fb;
and no dealing with ugliness.
To all the mods who do not hate me,
I do miss interacting with all of you there.
However;
I do not feel comfortable with a couple of my haters there.
I feel I cannot speak freely.
I doubt if a mod's forum here would be any better.

PS.
Yeah, juniperb,
I agree;
a private mod group is often not "nifty".

I'm so sorry to hear that, Lexx.
The thing is, people are supposed to put their feelings aside for the greater good of the forums. If they can't, then they are not fit to moderate. IMO.

Exactly!
Reverting to potty mouth and salacious titillation, and oooh ahhhh look how naughty we can be crap;
and so forth;
is not mature,
and even mature topics can sink into toilet talk when a few think acting like 12 year olds giggling over serious topics is fun.

BTW Randall;
here is a message from the closed Sweet Peas;
addressed to you:

I'm joking, but Randall, if you see this, I 98% certain you won't open it up again. Perhaps you should, like Astrology and Linda Central, lock new topic posts? So people can keep their already existing threads while not running the risk of new risque topics.

Then slowly delete the bad topics if you even wish? Or would that be too tedious and difficult? I don't know anything behind running a forum website, but you know.

Or do all that, AND make a Sweet Peas 2.0
With new modship

Feedback? What do you really (want to) plan on doing?

Indeed. And posters have been asked repeatedly to do so, to little avail.

I think sex should be off limits unless within guidelines of real decorum such as maybe sexual problems, sexual abuse and things of that nature. I don't think we need to discuss sexual things on LL. They do degenerate into quasi sex forums, which Randall clearly does not want.

The Mod's will keep it within these clear guidelines, which should be quite easy imo. If there is a grey line, the Mod will make his/her decision and if he/she is unsure, he/she will ask Randall for help.

The Mod Forum hurt morale, because Knowflakes thought we were talking about them. And when we actually were talking about someone (we had to discuss what was going on in order to resolve things), the Forum was hacked. We do have a Mod group on Facebook and use it very little.

charmainec, Venus, juniperb; I didn't intend it that way. I'm sorry, and see how it would sound in hindsight. I'm actually okay with it being closed now, to be honest. And maybe for the better! S-turn in Scorpio reveals true colours.

You ladies know I love you, but.....

I don't see why you came down on him so hard.....or how you took that little blurb to mean something entirely different.

All he was saying was that maybe there should be Mods (especially in an active forum like that) who are actually around alot and participate.

No one needed to take his comment offensively or extremely personally. When I read it, i didnt think he was directing it at anyone in particular, but rather a mere observation and nothing more.

I hear you SE.

(and besides LEXX, I don't remember who moderates that forum......i think I remember another, but I'm not sure)

I think he made a valid point and it wasnt meant to be a jab at anyone.

Anyway, it was healing when I did start a post in Sweet peas about sensing sexual energies. This is my opinion.

^ That thread was healing for me as well. Along with many others in that forum.

On the contrary, as others have said, I would prefer that impressionable minds gather their information in Sweet Peas where they can also get support and help for what they are dealing with, be it depression, abuse, loss, addiction, intimacy, eating disorders or sexual orientation. These things are part of life, hiding our heads in the sand regarding them doesn't make us more honorable or hollower than thou. I do agree, however, that such topics should be discussed in a tasteful manner and that Sweet Peas shouldn't be a sex or flirting forum.

My vote goes to keeping it under stricter moderation.

^ I strongly agree with all of that. Well said, Hera.

This has been an interesting thread to read, and I wanted to quote more to show my appreciation for all you intelligent people, but there is only so much I can repeat before it seems like I am overstating the case. Obviously it's just up to Randall now.
