All are welcomed to give an opinion, but keep it civil. Perhaps Sweet Peas was a failed experiment. I can admit making a mistake. People should be able to discuss intimacy in a mature manner and address related topics as such, but it seems to spiral downward quickly and get explicit. Linda would not have approved of that. So yay or nay? Another option would be to remove the intimacy portion of the description and exile the explicit topics that are there to a read-only archive. Sweet Peas would need an identity. It could just be a place for more mature subject matter like depression, suicide, abuse, etc. I have closed it down provisionally while I weigh the feedback and make my decision.

Nay

I say leave it open but put a banner on the forum page saying something to the extent of "No sexually explicit discussions allowed"

If it can't be on network television at 4 pm in the afternoon, it shouldn't be on LL.

I vote close it. I never liked that dirty smelly forum much anyway.

LindaLand was a lot different (better) without it.

There are plenty of other forums dedicated to those types of topics, if people need to discuss them. They can go there.

I don't think Linda would have approved or been happy about it either. She'd have shut the forum down a long time ago....or never started it.

I mean, sure, she discussed many subjects throughout her writings and work, but that doesnt mean we need a forum for all of them.

To me, things have gotten really scattered here and there are WAY too many forums.

Like the other day I watched threads get closed and locked and moved to Personal Readings, that really should have gone into Soul Unions.

It's too scattered here now.

& I don't think a forum like Sweet Peas belongs here.

There's nothing wrong with it, but I don't think a true Linda forum needs it.

She was a deep woman. If we get rid of some of the forums, it would focus energies into the imporatant ones. Her main focus was not what the Sweet Pea forum was about either. So, that's another reason why I don't think it belongs.

Let me make loud and clear - there is nothing wrong with it, but I don't think it belongs here and was not a focus of Linda's life or teachings.

Focus people....focus..

I think this is more drama and it won't be closed for good.

This is just more hype.

Remove the intimacy portion. No matter how many times we request mature, tasteful discussion, it is often ignored. Not by everyone but every now and then someone will pop up and do the opposite.

I don't know if they do not understand what is meant by mature, tasteful discussion or if it's deliberate.

Linda was human, she was a woman.....like most women she had intimate relationships. So, that means we need a forum to talk about it now? Eh I don't think so.

There are many talented astrologers out there and forums dedicated to them, but they don't need a forum dedicated to personal things that everyone goes thru. .

I just feel like in a way it degrades her and her name. She did not write books about "mature subject matter like depression, suicide, abuse, etc".....sure it came up in one of her books, but that was not her focus.

I think a forum dedicated to her should be more focused on what she was all about.

Probably not a popular opinion, but I do think for a LG forum it's what is best.

IMO Sweet Peas cheapens the place.

*neon lights flashing*

It would be taken as a real astrology forum if certain things changed. It might be too late now though.

I'm hesitant to explain more about what some serious astrolgers have said. They are long gone now though.

This is not an astrology forum anymore.

Actually, you sure posted a lot there, T. And we are in the top 50 ASTROLOGY sites in the world and the only Forum on the list.

If the forum was popular and will be missed why not try to moderate it more

T i have never thought of LL as explicitly about Astrology, if that were the case i personally wouldn't have hung around for this long. Sweet peas is a great place for anyone who's having serious personal issues, who needs moral support, who has a more or less "mature" topic to discuss..

since it has gone out of hand sometimes maybe the mods should be a bit stricter (me included)and the forum description should be clearer..

No, not really Randall. I did not post there alot. Maybe recently in more fun threads, but no. Don't even try to make it seem like I was a poster there " a lot ".

You being serious right now?

Well, put it back up then!

Gooberz was all about many of those topics; therefore, having a Forum devoted to them is actually very Lindaesque.

I guess I could see how you could see it that way.

I said my piece and I know it's not the popular opinion, so I don't expect much from it.

I'm sure it'll be back up in a day or two, so no worries.

I disagree. And you make Gooberz sound like some kind of sex filled book, or about mental illness.

It wasnt.

To me, it was a spiritual book

I don't like how you bring up how Gooberz discussed sex, or Linda's intimate relationships. (as youve liked to point out, in many past threads)

She did it in a pure way. A spiritual way. That is not always how Sweet Peas goes.

Sure, everyone has fun there once in awhile, and things go off topic, but that's become the nature of the forum.

I'm not going to waste my time writing too much more. You see Linda in a very different light than I did.

That really bothers me that you would say that. If I posted there, it was in the tame threads (except for one recently).

So, don't even try to say I posted there " a lot". Most of the threads make me squirm.

I don't see the forum as dirty or trashy. The things people POST can be though.

Many have shared their grief and pain there and found comfort, healing and support. One member was constantly warned yet would continue with the crappy threads and sometimes encourage by a mod (who btw was just as guilty of starting "trashy" threads.

I haven't been reading many posts in there so I don't really know what's been going on, however, there seems to be a problem. Can there be stricter guidelines?

But then, maybe it attracts the wrong people and so, gives the wrong message. It's like the Sacrel Chakra of LL and it has opened a vortex, though perhaps a different approach can fix the energy, if not, shut it down.

I've always viewed the forum as an opportunity to remove shame toward certain taboo topics, perhaps it can be made private and not viewable by the public as a password would be needed and NOT so readily available to newflakes. Make it tighter.
