Late with joining in, but anyway...

I'm okay with him hanging out with other girls, like if they were his friends before we got together, but I do expect him to be open about it. I used to have quite some male friends, too, so I get it. Reading the whole discussion here, I'm on the side that believes in platonic relationships. Sometimes I'd get feelings for those guys, but just as many times I didn't. I'm not attracted to every guy I meet. Most of my crushes don't go past "Oh, he's cute" anyway.

... This is exactly what gets me on a rough day. Really sorry, I know how it feels. I'm not confident on what I've achieved to begin with, so when I keep hearing about everyone else having it easy, it can really bring me down.

About having feelings for friends, I think it's possible to keep being friends after you find out it's not requited, but it's tough for the person in love. Very tough. You'll have to be very patient and prepare for seeing your (best) friend dating people that aren't you - and boy is that going to hurt. I agree with the comments on that some space is needed. Sometimes it's just too hard to look at them.

I've done it once for my bff at the time and it was hell, but I'm glad I did it. What really helped was that he was very understanding about it, honest but gentle - he took a long time to answer, and I sensed he was trying to put it in a way that it wouldn't kick me down even further. I really appreciated that, it was what I liked about him in the first place. (For placement's sake: he was a Gemini with a Virgo moon and Venus in Cancer)

Sadly, I admit I do the avoiding unless someone is really direct with me. When it comes down to it, you don't want to hurt someone you care about, so I tend to keep it to myself if I can. I do try not to do or say anything that might give them the wrong idea. If it's really obvious, though, yes, I'll say I don't feel the same way and try to be as sweet about it as possible. It's uncomfortable, but it's 1000x worse for the person getting rejected, right?

That's my reaction to pretty much everything.
First I get a peak of intense emotion and then it's followed by indifference.
I think it's a defense mechanism but it's quite effective. The only drawback is that I tend to cut off all my emotions altogether when that happens; so I usually need some time before I go back to "feeling" again.

Late joiners are just as welcome as all of us here I had a friend who really had and I believe still does have a huge crush on me. Even when he has a girlfriend. I think it's why I refrain from really seeing or being around him because I feel bad about. But at the same time I don't wanna add more fuel to flame and egg him on even more ya know. I'm a people pleaser I feel instant discomfort when someone isn't comfortable in a situation and really try to do all that I can to help people. But in this situation between he and I think in our case it would be better if we weren't close friends anymore. I don't want to hurt anyone especially a kid that I've know since grade school. It just doesn't help when even my mom tries talking me into giving him a chance. :S it's like mom stop right there lol
