Sensitive New Age Guys You guys must get tired of all this fighting, so there's a little intermission for ya.
Huh larrious Sensitive new age guy..in barber shop quartet styly, and or course led by a woman to even make it work Funny and sad at the same time. Suspect this is why women enjoy speaking with me, that sensitivity stuff is 90% of the time just not a part of the conversation. This is where the mass media does such a disservice to men, it implants the idea that MOST (not all mind you) want men to share feelings and problems with them at all times. Some women do enjoy that sort of males' company, the vast majority of women I've met do not want to hear about it. TBH, most of the women I've met want to hear about..wait for it..taking action to improve your life...not your problems As if Ross and Chandler are male ideals
After all, this is Sparta! At least to a point. Keep in mind though, this is a generation of men that was mostly raised by women (of divorced homes)so do not be so surprised. IP: Logged |

What?!?! Disagree, High Standards are needed for everyone, otherwise it's merely cheeseburgers, cheesecake, cheap drugs and orgasms. We can and should do far far better than that. IP: Logged |

Problem is most people have high standards in everything that shouldnt really matter. My experience on dating sites has led me to believe that way too many young women believe they are 10s who just stepped off the runway.IP: Logged |

^ good point but that applies to both genders... more so men. The counter part of a man looking for a trophy wife is a woman wanting to be a trophy wife. It goes hand and hand and padre.. I'm talking about looks.. I'm not saying settle for someone you find unattractive but I see way too many young people with ridiculous standards, mainly stems from insecurity Good luck trying dating a super model if you're a 5..Unless you're rich. But I'm not judging anyone.. It's all the same. If you're going date someone only for their looks you might as well check the wallet and the extra perks. IP: Logged |

Ya that's true. I just always like to be the devils advocate and bring it up because I don't think the absurd pickiness of young women is discussed enough.IP: Logged |

I don't want the drugs, but the rest sound really really good. It's possible to have high standards for cheeseburgers: use Wagyu Kobe beef. Likewise for cheesecakes.

There's the Douche Burger... for douches... at $666. You've got to be a dolt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJT50Pr5cCo I've had the Daniel Bouloud ("Restaurant Daniel" www.danielnyc.com) Black Truffle Burger and it was just divine. The price was still ridiculous but it was worth it given the amount of foie gras. Just don't freaking ask for ketchup like my buddy did. That's when the French bring out the "you low life American" look. Yeah. But mayonnaise is alright. Sure. We paying for this dude. We'll put Siracha on it if we want to. http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2007/news/0710/gallery.luxury_expensive_food/

Thanks for watching The song is by Christine Lavin originally, she has a lot of hilarious songs, but few of them are represented well on YouTube. quote: Originally posted by Padre35: TBH, most of the women I've met want to hear about..wait for it..taking action to improve your life...not your problems
Most of the time what I've found is that men always want to FIX whatever problems a woman has, which-- no offense intended towards you-- can be annoying. Out of politeness a woman might nod and say "Oh that's a good idea, I'll try that" even if she has no interest in trying your idea, because she actually already has a plan in mind for how she's going to address the problem, and she was just b*tching about it to let off steam and maybe get a comfort hug. Sometimes men do give good advice though Not saying they don't! But I'd say that more often, female to male conversations are about the men telling the women what to do ("Just trying to help her") than the two commiserating with each other. So it is a novelty and welcome change to me when men let their guard down and start talking about their problems. quote: Originally posted by Padre35: Keep in mind though, this is a generation of men that was mostly raised by women (of divorced homes)so do not be so surprised.
Hmm good point. And men's interests have shifted over to spectator sports instead of, say, teaching their boys how to channel their testosterone towards hunting or other productive skills. IP: Logged |

As for "just trying to help" what I've found is after the initial blowing off of steam, it is better to take their mind of the subject and talk about what they do that they like to do and what she likes about doing those things. As for men being mostly spectators now, that is a really good point. What I see it as is more a lot men now are content to live vicariously through others, be they athletes or what have you instead of sorting ourselves out. For me, I don't take pics of hamburgers that other people have cooked, I think about how I can make the best hamburger ever made with these two hands. Would it be made from smoked venison that I hunted, cleaned, smoked, then prepared into a cheeseburger for example. Few men today would even bother, just buy the burger in the bag wrapped in paper and consume. Bleech. IP: Logged |

I disagree. Women are of this opinion because men who would do all those things are invisible to them. IP: Logged |
