The "let's all be friends and hold hands" is hardly the most productive approach when discussing personal development.

There are no camps. There are only very strong opinions. They should not be censured. If you don't want to deal with these people's personalities, I suggest you take a lesson from Ami and learn to ignore. I think it would make your life much easier.

With that said, I think that's honestly why people are even more argumentative and combative since people seem to (usually) express themselves and their opinions more openly online than in real life.

I wouldn't take it to heart though, especially since we'll probably never meet these people in real life.

I agree with @Sibyl about ignoring it, or at least not getting worked up over it.

I lurk still, but only occasionally. I miss (as in do not see them) a great deal of things here.
Ganging up seems to be the norm. People will do many things to prove their point. I hate to have gone as far as I have in attempting to prove something. I truly believe that it really doesn't matter who agrees with what here. It won't change anything. At most our interaction with certain individuals but big deal right?
It is incredibly easy to get wrapped up in our opinions and have this fight to the death attitude that leads to frustration when the others act the same.
I don't know if it's everyone's fault or no one's fault. If I'm making any sense at all. I may just be mumbling. lol

But I will say, with such loose moderation I don't see a whole lot changing. It's claimed that mods can't be everywhere to see what's going on which in some cases is a lie because they were a part of it. Maybe the answer is more (trusted) mods to have more coverage.

I don't care too much, much at all really because occasional lurking is working out just awesome for me.
A wonderful thing that I did for myself. It's crazy to think of how wrapped up in it I was.
We're all strangers, I see now that there definitely needs to be lines drawn on when to just agree to disagree. Versus insulting someone personally or their opinion in a personal way. I also never understood why people get all bent out of shape if one of their placements is picked on. No single placement makes the whole so again, who cares.
People even open new threads to continue one that was closed. Just let it go.

There's a very small handful of people here that I just won't deal with anymore. Some of the people that I'm sure fit in with those topic. But, bah... No biggie. I don't have the desire or will to argue with anyone. LL is interesting to visit from time to time but I'm not going to invest myself in it.

I appreciate the risk to your popularity to express that I'm missed. lol

I agree, the general environment went downhill in the pursuit of of freedom. Even freedom needs boundaries.

I can think of several, including AG who I would say have been ganged up on.
Also, why is it that more and more people are feeling this way?
I think that should clue to into a possible trend, and a negative one.
There is a line of sharing and debating opinions, and yes sometimes one person holds an unpopular one.
Yet, when insults come, and it's allowed, yet stated that they are not allowed. Let's face it, they are. I've even pointed them out with links (to a mod) and it was excused and brushed aside. Then the poster claimed to have said something else... No matter what kind of word used in "----- off". No one should be told "off" anything.

There's a thread right now in Hearth and Home that the people said, "it's good that this is like 50 pages long so people won't see us talking crap about them. Who's going to go through all of that?" They edit posts to communicate as well as to not bump it to the top. I see things people don't realize that I do.... Or did anyway.

People use the word "debate" here a lot... Shooooot, a lot of things said here wouldn't fly in a courtroom, wouldn't fly on a televised debate show or any other debate meetings. It wouldn't fly anywhere. Sexual things are considered explicit because we have some young people around but dirty insults are allowed as long as direct name calling is not used, although I've seen that slide by. Seems.... Well you get what I'm saying.

Well whatever.... I'm just going to go back to "seems to be becoming a trend for those complaint" though I'm sure it will continue to be ignored.

This has been my issue with AG's threads. Although I don't agree with his opinions on many things, he is entitled to his opinion and I'm not going to 'gang' up on him or spew names. The problem is that one of the mods here is too emotionally attached to him and creating an unnecessary bias, adding tension to his threads.
